So na aboki make someone talk 'I am constituted authority'?
Aboki is not just the problem but we have so many people who have nothing to contribute to their ward let alone their council in control of this nation. What impact did "I am a constituted authority" in the red chambers before he was voted as governor? Someone said youth should get involve in the politics but will nominate the youth or vote for the youth in primary where we have people like Atiku contesting , Jagaban as godfather ati bebelo?

onegentleguy:
In the past few weeks, there had been a few calls on the coy UBA from some members here. (my humble self inclusive)
...and so I decided to do a comprehensive analysis on why the stock is a BUY.
This, with respect to its YE 2017 and Q1 2018 results.

A few breakdown;

▪ Strong earnings drive: The bank raked up a 43% and a near 50% in top and bottom line respectively as the drive for earnings and profit diversification particularly from its African subsidiaries begins to yield the much needed fruit.
▪ Stong and robust cost management efficiency: The bank seems to be ahead of the curve with the recent implementation of IFRS 9 by the CBN given that even after a near 12.9% increase in OPEX which had a strain on profit margin, a drop in loan loss charge by over 53% after a loan book clean up, and the compelling of the bank by the CBN to restate their opening equity balance downwards following the adoption of IFRS 9 from Jan 1st 2018, they still managed a solid near 20% position in net profit margin. (...well above the 15% internationally accepted standard).
▪ Gross earnings rose by an approx 18% QoQ 2017/2018, while after tax growth witnessed a near 6.3% improvement.
▪ The bank has consistently maintained a well above average growth in shareholders fund within the last 3 yrs, with an inequality pattern of Y>29.5%<35%. ...where Y is the yield on shareholders fund. In line with this, the fund grew from 448 billion to approx 529.5 billion YoY in 2017.
▪ Along this path, the bank has also seen a 3 yr consecutive growth in EPS from N1.45 to N2.30. ...book value also grew by a whooping approx 92% from N8.05 to N15.48.
▪ As at Q1, the bank is trading at a 0.69k EPS, a slightly above 4.03 price earning and an above average ROAE.
▪ Within the last 3 quarters, the bank has seen a far more greater interest in net inflow of funds with practically zero outflow. ...a few core investors have actually been increasing their stake in the coy.
Looking at the current shareholding structure, the Bank of America merril lynch, STH Ltd and the Bank of New York Mellon, are currently 3 of the biggest FPIs. With the latter 3rd and another core investor, Consolidated trust funds Ltd increasing their stake to 4.4% and 4.7% in that order. The biggest stakeholders are currently Stanbic nominees Nig Ltd and the UBA staff inv trust which holds an 11% and 7.6% stake respectively. There are presently a total of 10 core investors and FPIs with different stakes in the bank.

With a current price earnings ratio of 4.03x, a price to book ratio of 0.71x and book value of approx N15.80, UBA is presently trailing a near 35% margin of safety. (...precisely 34.4% MoS from its intrinsic value).
...this gives a Fair Price of N18.10 based on Q1. ...and therefore presents a juicy 59% discount from Friday's close of N11.35.
UBA is therefore a BUY from my end.

NOTE: This analysis is purely result driven and not any sort of outright recommendation. ...DD still advised as always pls.
My Verdict: Follow ur instinct.

Regards.

Good analysis.. thump up.

when I started as an amateur investor, I made a lot of mistakes and lost a lot of money but now I will do my own due deligence about any stock I have interest before I commit my hard earned money and since then, I have been winning. Do your findings and research yourself before you venture into any stock. All the stock I bought in 2017 made me bountiful harvests unlike when I was investing blindly even I don't allow my broker to dictate for me , when I saw that the owner of dangote flour sold it then, I sharpra sold mine too and jaaaa as one of the gurus here will say and wen he bought back I came back also and made good money in it. unlike when I just buy and be watching. Ucap another example bot at 2.80, collect .35kobo dividend and sold at 3.75 and jaaaa. though u may not always win but don't totally rely on what people say do your own findings. thank God for technology, you can Google anything even price history of some stocks up to 15- 20yrs period and that can be a guide. I know much about Oil & gas sector and for now am skeptical about investing in oil stock and as such no one can predict to me, I invest when am done with my findings. my 2kobo

The man apologized already. Can we please drop this!
The fact remains that this whole thing concerned the nation as a whole.
Fine, people are making jokes out of it to douse tensions and frustrations but the truth is, its not about a particular tribe.
Someone asked a question in Sunday School about killings in the North, that what are people in other parts of the nation doing about it? That we like to put up this I dont care attitude, it doesnt concern me attitude or that "it doesnt affect my side" kind of attitude but either in the short or long run it affects the country as a whole.
The kind of attitude displayed here by some people. Is NSE not in Nigeria? Anyway, I understand the angle they are coming from and maybe they are not currently in the country but notwithstanding, we shouldnt be non-chalant about some things sometimes.
In essence, let's be remembering this country in prayers either individually or collectively.
God Bless Nigeria!

Possibility of UBA visiting #10+ tomorrow is very high, it's a good stock but what will push it above #11 is not yet around, I closely monitor the stock through out last week and it was hovering around 11.40/11.60.
It visited #10.65 during the market session on Friday, it was almost standing still @ #10.90, until
MM came in between 2:28 - 2:30 pm to push it up to #11.45 by market closing.

Anticipation of Q2 2018 result release / interim dividend might push the price up, if building up of 2019 election didn't affect the NSE.

In summary, I still see UBA hovering around #10.50/ #11.30 next week. Q2 end June, and companies has up to July ending to release their result.

I don't like UBA simply because it doesn't move. During the last bull run in January, Uba and access just stood still while others where just moving up. I fear that stock wella.

Nice message.
Nigeria is for all of us, till it ceased to exist. Serious prayer is seriously needed.
We might think that it doesn't concern us, but remember that heat that come from fire is also disastrous, and when there is fire outbreaks, it affect both those who are in the fire and those outside.
Nigeria is in dear need of God intervention, poverty everywhere, killing everywhere, kidnapping everywhere.

As we discuss Stock market, let us also look at the state of nation, because if our nation goes bad, NSE will also go bad. Economy grow in peaceful environment, not in environmental devastation.

But it just tested #10.65, and might still visit it again this new week. UBA don't move like other stocks, when you expected it to move, is when it will be slow, but when you least expected, it then move.

MSCI ADDITION FOR 18 MAY 2018/GENERAL MARKET COMMENT

MSCI index sold again heavily on Friday 18 May 2018. Heavily affected by the sales were: Access, FBN Holdings, FCMB, GTB, Nestle, OANDO, UBA and ZENITH.

And following the adage, to be forewarned is to before arm. We should know on which of the market to cast our vote for, bears are still likely to be in control for the 1st 2 trading days of the week.

Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source.

...as the NSE Index is collapsing, majority of stocks will also be falling with or without sound fundamentals. However, I noticed that the index is also close to support level, if this level can hold, then a reversal is imminent, otherwise, further fall of most stocks will be witnessed in days to come
