His injury record alone is enough to drop him

Nonsense, will you drop Balogun because he is injury prone too.. Joel has been active enough this season to make the team.

@Andrew444

Pavon is far more important to Argentina than Icardi. If you have seen how they play you won't bother asking about Icardi. They are deadly on the flanks especially with Pavon.

Same pavon linked up Aguero in the build up to the second goal against Nigeria in the 4-2 friendly

Ideye has been given a late call-up to face DRC. I remeber Rohr said, he wanted to play fringe players for that match. No need to risk injury.
Ideye getting late call up?

I think, it is just to play the friendly since some players will be ineligible due to FIFA rules.

Lol Nacho is average,Lucas vasquez is there because player like Pedro and Votolo didnt have a good season,so he is the better option, nacho and vazquez are one of the average players in the squad

I actually think Lucas Vasquez is the most underrated player in Europe. Nobody talks about him(no thanks to the more fashionable Isco and Asensio), but he's very efficient in the job he does for Madrid. The width he affords Madrid is so vital to Madrid's counter attacking game especially in Champions League matches. He brings the best out of other players around him. I'm not surprised hes in te Spanish squad, totally deserved. (Liverpool beware)

OK. Good point, let's compare their draw with Barca's draw over the past two UCLs:

2016/2017
Madrid vs Napoli---- R16 (compare playing Napoli at this stage with playing PSG. Which one is easier?)
Madrid vs Bayern--- Quarter (*remember that this is the Carlo Ancellotti's mediocre Bayern team)
Madrid vs Atletico--- Semi

2016/2017
Barca vs PSG---- R16 (*Now compare PSG with minnows - Napoli)
Barca vs Juve --- Quarter (*remember that at that time Juve was the hottest team in Europe having not lost a match in almost 1 year)

2017/2018
Madrid vs PSG(light 1 champion)----R16 (frankly, having come second in their group, Real wouldn't have hope for a better draw than PSG. Unless you feel that Manchester City, Manchester United, or Liverpool would've been an easier draw)

Madrid vs Bayern(Bundesliga champion)----(*Again, Real was given the best possible draw. UEFA saw Bayern struggled mightily against Sevilla, so they knew that it would be a good draw for Real. I mean, Liverpool has caught fire. Do you expect UEFA to pair them against Real seeing how Liverpool destroyed ManCity? Roma as well proved themselves to be giant killers at home, so definitely not a good draw for Real. Hence, based on the QF performance, the best possible SF opponent for Real is Bayern)

O pari

Mybettingtips:
tongue

Madrid easy knockout stage UCL matches? You are kidding right, don't be blinded by ur love for Barcelona. No easy draw for Madrid in UCL.

Pick the easy draw out

2016/2017
Madrid vs Napoli---- R16
Madrid vs Bayern--- Quarter
Madrid vs Atletico--- Semi

2017/2018
Madrid vs PSG(light 1 champion)----R16
Madrid vs Juve(Serie A champion)---- Quarter
Madrid vs Bayern(Bundesliga champion)----Semi

Those are back to back champions of their leagues. Madrid are not the cause of ur team's recent failure at the ucl competition.

Quarter back to back.

But I was made to understand that a player is a flop even if he is not given the chance to showcase his talent. Kayod e is a case study.

Spot on!! Oga Icon4s
Icon4s:

If left to me I can drop our defenders from 10 to 7 so I can accommodate an extra CF in Simi Nwankwo. The thing is most of us here are attached to certain players and would not want to see them dropped. What are you going to do with 8 defenders when only 4 can start? Besides changing of defenders does not really impact a game that much. It is the changes we make upfront that changes the course of a game. So we should have more options in the attack.

Over the course of the campaign it has been Cristiano Ronaldo's goals and Sergio Ramos' defensive ability which the team have had to thank, yet Vazquez's versatility can now be added to that list with his mature display the difference in Bavaria.
To win the Champions League, you need good fortune and a squad of players who can contribute at the most crucial moments.
The Spanish midfielder contributed in Munich, especially in a match which the hosts dominated statistically. He worked diligently down the right hand side before his versatility was tested further when Dani Carvajal suffered a thigh injury.
With the right-back determined to stay on the pitch, Vazquez encouraged him to sit in a forward position as he covered the defensive responsibilities.
Once it became apparent that the former Bayer Leverkusen defender couldn't continue, Zinedine Zidane introduced Karim Benzema with Vazquez pushed to right-back.
He then faced a challenging period where he had to keep Franck Ribery at bay with the German champions creating a number of chances in the latter stages of the contest.
Eyebrows were raised when the former Espanyol midfielder was handed a starting spot at the expense of both Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio, yet it will be remembered as a masterstroke.
Vazquez has been a key figure in Los Blancos' knockout stage matches thus far, he was a decisive substitute against Paris-Saint Germain and will be a deserving winner of the Champions League, if the holders manage to win the tournament for a third successive season.....Marca

This is what they think of him at Marca. Any tactically savvy football lover cannot deny what he brings to the table. But average can be relative anyway.

Saw some more highlights of Samuel Chukwueze.. That boy is a baller. He missed a chance where he beat like 4-5 players. Without a doubt, he will be in the first team next season.

He is ahead of Nwakali in terms of playing top flight football. Sometimes, it is better not to sign for a big team...

KPOM...like a guru here would say....did you see what i saw? We have a gem right before us...he will be SE team mate with Nwakali [he should leave ARSENAL]...Its better to begin small as youth player...knowing from where you are coming..africa with a lot prejudice against you, this partly the reason our players market price is lower..You can count how many Nigerian players that joined first team of big teams straight from Nigerian league..Finidi to Ajax,Taiwo to OM.

When a club knows that you are their own...they put more work to fine tune you...but when you come on loan...phewwww...

I agree with you on this.

Simy and lakosa will not go to the world cup,if i am the coach and for example iheanacho is injured or ighalo i will not even fix simy or lakosa in,there are there to fill the list just as you have said.
I don't think it's logically right to make such conclusion about Simy and Lokosa. Though they are rookies in the team but they're in red hot form currently so it's very possible that they become surprise revelations/ performers in Russia.

Mr man he's not Victor moses or Mikel or Ndidi who are instances of our most important players in the team. What does he have more than any other player in the team?

How can we overlook a player's terrible injury issues. A Joel Obi that hardly plays three matches consecutively without getting injured. Don't you know that an injured player can never be replaced in the squad during the tournament?

You are exaggerating. Take it easy.
