Re: Nigerian Power Plants Coming On Stream In 2018 by deomelo: 9:51pm On May 28, 2018 |
Omololu007: 1. You are lying, it was on the drawing board for 30 years and previous governments ignored it even though this single project with less cost than the $16 billion PDP looted can generate 3050MW. 2. Is it even possible to start any project that money was never budgeted for and the contract was never awarded in the first place? FG awards $5.8bn Mambilla power plant contract I understand that Nigerians are seeing improved power supply while Igbos and PDP roupies are not. Very understandable, no worries. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

apriko:Without taking sides, I think it will be more reasonable to use average power figure over the last year of the 16 years. If you quote the figure at handover date it will be wrong because every nation experiences power failure and vandals loyal to one party can easily do that few days to handover. |

deomelo:Omotosho 1 & 2 Papalanto Geregu 1 & 2 Omoku Afam V & Vi Calabar Alaodji Egbema Olorunsogo 1 & 2. Those are some of the power stations built under PDP. If you are going to credit the APC with a power station not 5% complete, be a MAN (an honest one) and list the power stations completed between 1999-2015. 3 Likes |

AZeD1: Instead of listing power plants to fool people, why add them all together and list the total MW. Again, I don't remember saying MaMbila is completed so stop repeating the same rubbish if you don't know how to read and comprehend. I even posted a link stating that the contract for the project was awarded just last year and the expected completion date is 6 years from now. I was trying to show how crooked, corrupt, thoughtless and incompetent OBJ and the PDP clowns were. They spent $16 billion and end up with 2050MW, but the plan and design for 3050mw Mambila were on OBJ's table, on Jona's table too so why not spend $5 billion on 3050MW instead of spending $16 billion on 2050MW? Because multiple contracts means opportunity to loot all over the place. Btw, with all the power plants you listed and after $16 billion and 16 years of PDP and Jona, they gave us nothing but darkness in return, so exactly what's your point? 1 Like |

deomelo:As at today, Nigeria has a total installed capacity of 12500MW. Saying the PDP spent $16Billion and ended up with 2050MW is a bloody lie because before 1999, Nigeria had an installed capacity of more than 2050MW. Egbin built in 1984 1320MW Kanji built in 1968 800MW Jebba built in 1985 540MW Shiroro built in 1990 600MW Ughelli completed in 1990 900MW Even before PDP came into power, Nigeria had more than 2050MW. As at 1999, none of them was working at full capacity and a lot of them are still not working at full capacity 3 years into Buhari's tenure. As for the ones built by PDP between 1999 - 2015 Geregu 1 414MW 2007 Geregu 2 434MW 2012 Omotosho 1 338MW 2005 Omotosho 2 450MW 2012 Papalanto 335MW 2018 Alaoji 1074MW 2012 Olorunsogo 1 336MW 2007 Olorunsogo 2 675MW 2012 This is not the full the list, you do well to to find out about the NIPP project. The Niger Delta powe company (Buhari appointed a new head) has about 10 power stations alone. Most of this stations are not operation because of Gas issues (OBJ's fault) but 3 years into Buhari's tenure, he still hasn't fixed the gas issues. If you want to give empty praise, you can say for each year of PDP's rule, a power station was built, PMB has been here 3 years not one has been built. You can be a praise singer for Buhari, that's your business but stop lying. 3 Likes 1 Share |

[s] AZeD1: Irrelevant, PDP and their 16 years gave us 2050MW and darkness. Most of this stations are not operation because of Gas issues (OBJ's fault) but 3 years into Buhari's tenure, he still hasn't fixed the gas issues. You mean PMB should have fixed in less than 3 years the gas problem worthless and corrupt PDP didn't fix in 16 years even though they presided over the largest earnings in the history of Nigeria. Shouldn't the worthless PDP have fixed it in the first place? You are either clueless or just not smart at all. If you want to give empty praise, you can say for each year of PDP's rule, a power station was built, PMB has been here 3 years not one has been built. PDP spent $16 billion and 16 years on 2050MW PMB is spending $5 billion on 3050 Mambila and to be ready in less than 6 years. So, explain the difference between $16 billion/16 years on 2050MW Vs $5 billion on 3050MW and 6 years. Useless PDP, OBJ and incompetent Jona should have spent 5 billion on 3050 Mambila and the plan and design were on their table, it's been on the drawing board for over 30 years. In 2018 alone, we are getting over 1.000MW and on top of that, 450MW Geregu2, plus tons of transmission projects, all in less than 3 years. You can be a praise singer for Buhari, that's your business but stop lying. Thank God I'm a praise singer for PMB and not some crooked and corrupt clowns that saddled us with darkness in return for $16 billion and wasted 16 years. And you wonder why Nigerians kicked them out... 1 Like |

deomelo:Stop lying, even Buhari himself knows you are lying. See the figures stated by Buhari in 2015 and see your figures and tell us who is lying. Nigeria’s former military leader Muhammadu Buhari has blamed the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the country’s continuing power problems and claimed that there is less electricity now than there was at the end of military rule in 1999. In a speech announcing his decision to run as an opposition candidate in the country’s February 2015 elections, the retired general said: “When PDP came to power in 1999 Nigeria was generating about 4,000 MW of electricity. After 15 years and $20 billion spent we are generating between 3,000 and 4,000 MW.” The ruling party responded with a sharp rebuttal, stating that “as at May 29 1999, when PDP took office, Nigeria was generating 1,600 MW”, but that today the country generates “4,568 MW of electricity”. 1 Like |

deomelo: Imagine PMB spending just $5.8 billion on 3050MW in the spate of 3 years. Just imagine if it was PMB handling and in control of such huge amount of $16 billion as at then, can you possibly imagine what will be of our power generation by now. Our past governments are bunch of squanderers. God bless PMB! 2 Likes 1 Share |
