Thank u very much I just did and it is....I realized his letter heading didn't carry his email or contact address could this be it?? Jewel80: |

Kemdy97:Kemdy97, Every official business letter headed paper bears: the address of the business, the contact details, the business name, and the nature of the business(what the business specializes in). How come yours does not posses this characteristics? Well, this can also be a problem too. As previously said, the main problem here was that CIC had an integrated search with your dad's business name on CAC website and couldn't find it. Please try running a check with your dad's business name on CAC website :www.cac.gov.ng |

odimbannamdi: Bro the conversion isn't exactly done like that. These schools have what they call international degree equivalency. you'll have to check the particular degree requirements for students from Nigeria before can be sure what is required. From my research, all the Canadian schools I've seen require minimum of a 2:1. 1 Like |

There were close to 44000 business names published in 2015 by CAC to come and file their returns or their business names will be delisted from their system. The business names published were mostly ones with 4-5 digits registration number. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Jewel80(f): 8:44am On May 29, 2018 |
Kemdy97: So that means the VOs dont actually type in only first word then. Good idea! I'll attach a screenshot of the search to my application, highlighting that his business name was misspelt or somtyn. We hope it ends well 1 Like |

Kemdy97:Bro don't shoot yourself on the leg, I have told you how to go about this before. Forget about the HND and stick to the internship programme, let the company also write a letter that you are an intern with them and you don't get paid for it(it is not all jobs that people get paid for as there voluntary jobs even in Canada). The decision at the end of the day is still yours to make, but I have done what a concern fellow should do. Best of luck |

Frankrobbn1: God bless you, my brother, for this valuable information. As much as i still got passion for Medical Microbiology, it will be very hard to sell my reason to the VO as to why i want to go it as opposed to the MBA. So MBA is the best bet. I want to start now to gather as much information as i can against movement next year. I will be bugging you guys here for further information. Abeg make una no too vex for me. But then i will definitely be making personal researches and contributing to the information here. Thanks again, guys |

After paying for your first year. Who can advice about working and studying to save money to pay for your tution fee maybe its worth 7500čad or 6500ćad. How possible is it |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by goingforward: 10:19am On May 29, 2018 |
Jewel80: hmmmmm @Jewel80, this sounds like a good idea. I just checked my company name now and realized that they spaced the two names out. Initially, when i checked i didn't see it and kept typing the name in different ways before I saw my name and realized that there is a space in-between. So i will do the screenshot for them in advance and add to my application. I can't shout. It will end in praise. goingforward. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by odimbannamdi(m): 10:20am On May 29, 2018 |
Lemia: Well, you may not be entirely wrong, especially since the bulk of my research for now has been on just one school, MUN. But then, their GPA requirement, as seen in the first attached picture, is written explicitly as 2.75 for 4 point scale. If you calculate it using the formular of proportionality, it converts to 3.43 for the 5 point scale. If there are exceptions to the rule or unique conversion methods, i think it would have stated there. But then, your class of degree is not the only factor put into consideration as ample years of experience and excellent GMAT score could also make up for tje shortfall in your degree class. See attached pic

Hello, CGPA conversion on a scale of 5.0 to 4.0 isn't done outrightly. There are some courses that are considered in conversion. Your grades in required courses are more considered than the totality of courses offered during your undergrad. odimbannamdi: |

Hi Bldr Kemdy Have you obtained admission for a Bsc in Civil Engr in a Canadian institution? If you have, IMO your major concern should be how you plan to convince the V.O that A bsc in civil is what you need at this point in your life, and not by chance. During you OND did you take civil courses like Strength of material, structural analysis, structural design, foundation engineering, mechanics of materials, and the likes? Or are you exposed to interpreting Reinforcement bar blueprints to artisans, bending schedules, casting of reinforced concrete etc If you are and you can proof this and more with any form of documentations you may stand a good chance in convincing the V.O of your intentions to study a B.sc civil. About whether you should declare you enrollment in your HND or not. IMO, if you declare it, what's to stop you from also abandoning the civil engr. Program your going for.? You need to think like the V.O All the very best Kemdy97: 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Nobody: 1:36pm On May 29, 2018 |
Well, my GCMS note was pretty generic. The VO felt that there was no need for me to spend so much money to travel to study when i could do the course in Nigeria, etc. They did not say anything about my course being for one year. But from what I read on this forum, a 2 years MSc would be better hence I went for one. If you can get a 2 year masters fine, but if not then you have to make do with what you have. In my case I drew the similarities in previous study, present job and proposed course and gave my reason for another Masters and defended it cos my previous masters was also course based. I also gave a very elaborate plan of what I intended to do when I return to Nigeria - it was quite elaborate (my plans I mean). So I took time to develop that. I dont know about Engineering so I can give specific advice but I hope you get the drift..... lonelydude: |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by HiSignature: 3:12pm On May 29, 2018 |
Hi Linsigne, I will not be giving a direct yes or a no to you question, instead, i will write out a scenario, you can then be the judge. You can work 20 hours per week while school is in session; lets say 34 weeks, assuming you get a job that pays $12/hr (minimum wage varies per province and your take home depends on the job you get; this is just an assumption) = $8160 You can work full time (40 hours per week) during summer break; if you are not registered in school; lets say 18 weeks = $8640 Total cash = $16800 Sounds impressive right. But here are things to consider: -You can look forward to having that much if you get a job almost at the same time as your arrival which in most cases it is not always the situation (what happens if you ended up getting a job some months after you got in) -You should have it at the back of your mind that not all jobs guarantee 20 hours per week; so what happens if you can't get one and it is difficult to joggle between two jobs? -Don't forget you will pay tax out from your bi weekly (every two weeks) pay; although it is still regulated for low income earners - If you are considering spending part of your earning for your rent and upkeep as well, then consider this analogy. If you are living in a $400 per month flat share (that's $4800/year) and upkeep of about $4000/year (feeding, travels, clothing, e.t.c); that takes about $9000 off the total earning. So consider the if's and if not's; ask more question from people living in the province or locality of where you are going, read more online about it and i think it will help make an informed decision. All the best Linsigne: After paying for your first year. Who can advice about working and studying to save money to pay for your tution fee maybe its worth 7500čad or 6500ćad.
