henry007:Yeah, a little error there... It's same 14nm, but the 636 is more optimized... However there's nothing strange about my opinion on mediatek... They're still crap anyday anytime... Lol.. |

Ifedith: That "little" error looked copied and pasted "10nmfinFET technology" . That's what sparked my curiosity. How is 636 more optimized? What does optimisation have to do with it? Since you already know about processes, maybe read reviews about the snapdragon chipsets clock speed as it relates to the individual cores that make up the 8(octa) core processor. |

Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 5:10pm On May 29, 2018 |
henry007:Yeah, true , that year was for Exynos . Particularly loved that year because Qualcomm needed to make amends after the whole saga, they had to prove a point by any means, and so came the beginning of a new era for mid range devices, the Snapdragon 650/652. This processor bridged a wide gap between flagship and midrange phones, it's the reason the Redmi note 3 pro was a huge success, the performance was ahead of its time. The Redmi note 4 was actually a downgrade as far as performances is concerned, the Redmi note 5 is the worthy successor. As for Mediatek, maybe because we didn't expect much from them, they barely tackled their major flaws, though the Helio X20 is by far better than the X10 in terms of heat management. |

Gptech: I was not even a fan of the deca-core processors in general. I was surprised that the P25 didn't heat up at all. I love what MTK did with the P60 especially while opening up games. They should try to do that without the gimmicky animations(just for show). MTK is actually growing faster than Snapdragon but Snapdragon is still on top of the flagship line. Not gonna lie, as at rn i would pick a SD636 over a P60 still just coz it's more expensive and I am Nigerian loool |

henry007:That's true also. The 450 and 636 wer released in 2017, the 625 is 2016...so they're surely some little improvements. As such the 450 has better memory management than the 625... |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Nobody: 5:57pm On May 29, 2018 |
Ifedith: I see......... you feel since the redmi note 4 you are using (5.5in) is a little big for one hand, the redmi 5 plus (5.99in) should be bigger. WRONG!!! The dimensions are a little different. Redmi note 4 dimensions are 151 x 76 x 8.5 mm Redmi 5 plus dimensions are 158.5 x 75.5 x 8.1 mm From the dimensions, you will notice that the note 4 is actually a little wider (76mm) and the redmi 5 plus is a little slimmer (8.1mm). The redmi 5 plus also has a better screen to body ratio (~77.4%) compared to the redmi note 4 (~72.7% ). So the redmi 5 plus is not too big for one hand . The redmi note 5 pro also has similar dimensions with the 5 plus. Redmi note 5 pro delicious device. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Ifedith:Also, admit you are wrong in your analysis of note 4 and the 5 plus in screen size. Note 4 is 16:9 aspect ratio. It is wider. While 5 plus which is 6 inch is 18:9, it is longer. Not wide as note 4. Read up on aspect ratio. I have held 5plus and at 5.99 inch, I will say the device look smaller to me. |

WHY IPHONE IS BETTER THAN XIAOMI Just one reason: Its easier to sell a second hand Iphone than to see a buyer for a second hand XIAOMI I wanna upgrade to the latest XIAOMI..but one thing I kept asking myself "Will you be able to sell this phone when you're done using it?" Imagine me buying Mi Mix of 150k and I still can't see a buyer for 100k? Whereas.. IPHONE is like Gold.. The value is the same everywhere.. Xiaomi is my favorite.. I sold my 4A for half its price Now.. my redmi 5plus is being priced down for almost half its price.. And I have my eyes on note 5 |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by henry007(m): 6:15pm On May 29, 2018 |
Ifedith: This is probably just me but when i think about optimisation be it memory management or battery efficiency, i relate it to the custom UI from individual brands. May be because 2 devices from 2 different brands can have the exact same specs but somehow not get the same battery efficiency or RAM management. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by henry007(m): 6:23pm On May 29, 2018 |
Ennyhorlar: I generally use my iPhones for as long as they remain smooth and fast. the iPhone 6 for instance aged well but went from 100-0 real quick in one update. There's a gsmarena article about choosing flagship phones to use for 2 years or midrange phones that you change yearly. iPhones would obviously be excluded from midrange category. Here's how they voted.

Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Nobody: 6:27pm On May 29, 2018 |
Ennyhorlar: Well it depends on where you are advertising your phone for sale. I sold my first xiaomi phone for about 73% the price I bought it despite having used it for almost 10 months. It depends on the state of your phone and where you advertise it. |
