@rationalmind, it is :

(21k - 65k)/ 65k = ~68% fall and not the 209% fall you wrote.

Wanted to argue but remembered the Kobo naira argument with mcy56 so I decided to go back to the basics and realised you were right. grin

Apparently, I've been mixing this up for a very long time. Thanks jare

Why?

That is when money will be made. You go sell your house and key into a good company and you will be warming up to go into retirement early.

Money will have to be lost before its made grin

Sir, does it means that long term investing no longer works/advisable. Am reading an investment book that was recommended here "101 investment lesson from the wizards of wall street, and most of the wall street wizards advice that investor invest for long term.

How long is long term? This can be eternity.

My dear, do anything im stock market that increases your networth.

You need to be patient with this market especially in buying. Buying determines the size of your gain and the margin of safety you will have enjoy.

I see no reason holding a stock that you saw giving you 400 to 600% gain and you say you want a ten bagger! This is where one needs to control that GREED.

Once I am satisfied with the level of my appreciation in the market, I don pass my Kaya to another person make e help me carry small. I jaaaaaaaaaaa with my money.

Long term is good but know when to exit.

This market behaves like the militants abroad. Once they blast an area, people will rush in to help the injured. As more people enter, they will blast another one. More casualties & fatalities.

If you want to JIJO, your eyes should be on the second blast. grin

It was the reverse you did that gave you 209%.

That is for the index to rise back to 65k from 21k, it will need to be 209% increase.

I have since realised that, if I sold after every 10% increase or loss, I stand to make more gains than losses.

To sell after the 10% self na the problem, I start looking at the possibility of 20 or 30 and sometimes, the stock reverses and I'm scrambling for safety grin

There are point where TA and FA meets.

Where TA charts show continued sell, the FA guy will snap it up from them and the chart changes again.

The FA will hit big and wait while the TA will bring in the momentum/randomised movement.

Before countdown, make sure Peter is not in any of your stocks. Else, you go count down enter another financial year and result go still hang with CBN or NAICOM (as the case may be).

Chairman, your own skill na 100% grin

There was a time I noticed DS was always trading around 21 when the market opens and touches 22 levels before close of trade at least three times in a week.

I started thinking of buying and selling everyday at 2% gain excluding charges. If I can get it right 5 times, and in less than two weeks, I would have hit my 10% target. grin

It was the mental and physical stress that put me off.

Trying not to enjoy all the flesh off a well seasoned fish will save you the headache of swallowing those tiny pin bones.

If e hook for your throat, you go vomit join all the flesh already consumed trying to get that pin bone out!
