Read 1 Corinthians 10: 20-23. Know ye not the things the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to the devil....

Muslims worship the god of sun and not the Almighty God Christians worship that is why they face East when praying. Don't forget that the Trinity Christians worship is omnipresent and is everywhere not residing only in East or Mecca. Eating their breakfast is tantamount to eating food from God's of iron, fire or masquerade so be warned.

GoodMuyis:
The last time my Muslim neighbor gave me food, for the fact that the meat look like big blokos, is till chop the food and the meat after the grace. As you see am the one cementing by my self, still enjoying the grace, mercy, kindness from God

The rule is this, If your conscience disturbs you about eating, then dont eat, otherwise, Blessed and eat, then give glory to God and pray for the provider.
The highlighted does not apply here. Wat the highlighted refers to is eating meat sacrificed to idols as contained in 1 Corinthians 8:4-12. However, wat is in issue is not wat u addressed. Revelations 18:4 says "....get out of her, my people, if u do not want to share with her in her sins, if u don't want to receive her plagues". This scripture talks about false worship or false religion in general. Based on this scripture, u do not accept such food.
The bible contains certain principles that are not as black and white as oda scriptures which clearly spell out certain do's and don't's. Therefore principles are the basis for addressing oda situations dat appear not so clear. Proverbs 28:5 says "........those who seek God can understand everything".

Keep collecting food from every Mohammed, Abubakar and Ismail you know. Whatever results from it is strictly your problem. We won't bear it together

Says someone who will be willing to be employed by anyone religious or not, one who won't reject the money given to him by a Muslim, even one who walks on the road commissioned by a Muslim.

Do you agree that religion has made us natural enemies with ourselves? Sometimes we over do,

I only remember the Bible says we should not eat what has been sacrificed to other gods, not to refuse just food
who do you believe Jesus is? Who do muslim believe he is too? Why wont religion practically make you enemies when your belief is not same?

Warmth greetings to us Nairaland family..
Happy Ramadan fasting to our Muslim brothers.
Quickly I want to ask, how right or rather proper for a non-muslim, particularly Christians to accept food/meat gift from our Muslim brothers, especially the ones used in breaking the fast..
My Muslim close associates have been gifting that persuasively and it now looks discriminatory to them, I'm a Christian by the way and they are well informed on that.

However this thread is never for religious warring or insults from anyone/religion against another, it's for better interreligious knowledge and information.

It is love, just try the extend love by sharing, I am presently in the middle East and most times you're persuaded to collect there is nothing there, it is up to you to eat or not. All you need to do is say thank and if you really need the food you eat it or you give to someone else.

Biblically, the Christian view is that it doesn't really matter as there is no longer any distinction between clean and unclean foods anymore, but then as Nigerians have the innate tendency to take religion to the extreme, accepting Ramadan food in some churches is seen as idol worship.

As for me though, food can't waste. That is the greatest sin grin

During Christmas and new year, many threads graced front page here warning Muslims not to accept Christmas gifts or new year gifts from Christians. They went further to state that they shouldn't reply celebratory greetings like merry Christmas or happy new year.

As long as I can eat the food (chicken, cow, goat and fish meat only ) as far as my dietary requirements are concerned, I will eat... I'll say a pray over it, just in case grin

That's muslims for you.

They persuade you to eat/drink from them but they will never eat or drink from you, especially if it's the food meant to be used in breaking fast by Christians.

Muslims by default are supposed to discriminate and hate non Muslim (Christians).

As for me oooo, I won't eat the food. Not because am a religious person, but because that's exactly what they'll do if you turn the tables.

Hey, am talking about real and practising muslims, not those who in one way or the other have some western influence in their lives.

Hausa people call them infidels

do not generalize. I've met Muslims that if they don't tell you they are. You wouldn't know. Even the ones that you know are Muslims, I've met a tin of them that will help me out in ways a fellow Christian will never help. A lot of Muslims I know are selfless regardless of religion. I'm sorry if you haven't met loving Muslims but I have. Oh yes... I live in Nigeria too.

Food is food. You are trying to discriminate. If you are offered Ramadan meal and hungry, eat it. Islam is a religion of good people.

I’m a Christian.

It is not even as if the food is sacrificed to idols. Allah is the Arabic word for God and I know the Muslims worship only one God. They don't worship any other god except Allah.

What goes into a man does not defile him, rather it is what comes out of him. So eat any food, even the ones Ifa and Amadioha priests prepared on their ordination day

Muslims worship the god of sun? Which God do you worship when you celebrate Christmas? The average Christian is just a hypocrite.

sooooo.... Jacob was a Muslim? You claim to be a Christian yet don't read your Bible to understand. Esau knowingly sold his birthright to Jacob because he was hungry. He was given the porridge under a condition which he accepted. A Muslim giving you food doesn't do so under a condition. You need to stop breeding hate and misunderstanding.

It is very wrong, because Moslem worship God through Mohammed which was a human being who dies some years ago and never resurrect. While Christian worship God through Jesus Christ Who came down from heaven to save mankind. He died and resurrected and he is alive.
Some of you who claim to be Christians make me cover face in shame. You go to church but do not read your Bibles. Even if you do so, you do not do so to understand but to fulfill all righteousness. God already has sanctified all food and therefore, no food is unclean. What goes into you doesn't taint you. It is what comes out of you that stains you.

Religion has created more harm than good in this country... a tool used to divide and conquer... causes so much division...

I really don't believe so boss. For what it's worth religion is suppose to teach us and guide us on how to be humans I:e "love and respect one another" but then people will always use what they can anyhow they can ( religion in this aspect) to get what they want.

Christians can eat not only the food from Muslims but those ones from Idol worshippers, Like shango, Ogun, IFA Obatala, Osun etc. They can eat all food because food is nothing but food, except if the food was not prepared under good hygienic condition.

The Apostle Paul or Peter ( not sure who among them) treated the issue, he said nothing that goes into your mouth makes unclean but the words that come out of your mouth. because the one coming out is from your heart. He said you are free to eat such, give thanks , bless and eat.

I was doing my ND Polytechnic Ibadan, Eruwa Campus in late 80s and there was no food for us in the hostel. We were about five boys and we were starving. One of us was befriending a girl who is an indigene who happened to be the daughter of a Sango priestess so and that day they were doing Sango Festival, we sat together and sent for the girl and when she came my friend told her to go and bring food.
When she brought it and left we circled round it appointed someone to pray ( something we don't do when we eat together) grin but because of fear we Prayed.

We ate and nothing Evil happened to us.

We only ate food but had no regard for Sango, to us Sango is not God,
we ate the food they use to celebrate him and we didn't join in the celebration.

So Christians can eat any food as long as it is prepared under good hygiene. pls check the poster below

Only if you feel disturbed about the food then don't accept or eat it. Many of the people saying Christians shouldn't accept food from Muslims are hypocrites. Assuming you work in a bank as a cashier, would you accept cash deposits from only Christian customers. I believe every Nigerian knows that majority of cows killed for meat consumption are killed by Muslim guys. Before the cow is killed, they pray to their God. Why do we "CHRISTIANS" still buy their meat?

There may be so-called gods both in heaven and on earth, and some people actually worship many gods and many Lords. But for us, There is one God, the Father, by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live.
1 Corinthians 8:5‭-‬6 NLT

It’s true that we can’t win God’s approval by what we eat. We don’t lose anything if we don’t eat it, and we don’t gain anything if we do.
1 Corinthians 8:8 NLT

NOW LET ME TELL YOU A QUICK OBERVATION I GOT FROM A STUDY OF PAULS LETTER

When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that.
1 Corinthians 5:9‭-‬10 NLT

My Observation: whilst on earth, there are somethings we must accept and tolerate, we cannot do away with even unbelievers of our faith. We will have to die and leave this world for it to the possible. Notice Jesus didn't say love your Christian neighbor as you love yourself. If you love and value your Muslim neighbor as you do yourself, then eating his food will be least of your problem. I think where the problem is, is when you join them in prayer and worship lol...
