Loogan: God bless you Loogan, God bless u. Before Uzoho made his first team debut for Lacoruna under Pepe Mel, I wrote it here that the then unknown boy might be where he is today banishing the ugly memories of Ikeme's leukemia. Guess what the so-called elders said... As if that wasn't enough, they resorted to pointing out only his mistakes neglecting his good deeds in his every outing so far for the Eagles because they want non-existent experience(Akpeyi and Ezenwa) over quality (Uzoho). Uzoho would only be a second and or third choice to either of Enyeama of 2010 and or Ikeme of 2017, not to those pretenders(Akpeyi et al) they want to mount our post 2 Likes |

Martz101: It is an experiment if he has not performed credibly in that role for a quality amount of time. There is no guarantee he will flourish playing for the team. We believe he has the attributes and quality to do so. Gerrit? |

Martz101: I can point out a regular occurrance of top teams playing with players who do not fit the jam body role upfront. I can say the same of top teams relying on jam body players to play on the wings. So I wonder why the off point statement. As for Mikel in the defence role, maybe you think this is a joke. The debate is about getting the most out of the team and these has to do with playing these players in role that will utilize their strengths. So I wonder how you think we should think of playing Mikel in defence in any way. That will inhibit his strength and not bring the best out of him. You can see this is another off point comment from you. |

Martz101: Out of the 21 matches he played, how many did he start? He was mostly a sub to see out games. In other words, most of Onazi's games last season were cameo appearances. Next time argue what u know |

Martz101: He implied that Shehu's performance might have been affected by his ramadan fasting. He said that Shehu and Musa eat at around 5am, then fast till they break the fast later in the night. |

Martz101: Please, when you are quoting someone, you one yourself the responsibility of talking about the points the person stands on. I am not "you guys" and I have always advocated playing players to the best of their attributes. Finishing is a big part of Nacho's game and I have pointed out he is the most lethal finisher we have. Until we have another who can do that, he remains my Tip to lead our front line. What you are writing up there has nothing to do with my opinion. My point is so simple that I wonder why it is taking people ages to comprehend it. We should play a system that will create chances for Iheanacho to finish. If we create multiple good chances for him, we will be so devastating to even top teams. Gerrit? |

ChrisKels:Uzoho is doing well for a young man but I am not convinced we put the best choice in goal or if he is ready for us to get excited. I believe he is the best among the pack we invited but we need thorough unbiased goalkeeper screening after the World Cup and select the best. If not we are deceiving ourselves. Also the coaching crew needs to keep the young keeper on his toes to get him close to ready for the World Cup. By the way, what the hell was up with our players in allowing English players restrict the movement of Uzoho during corner-kicks. That should never happen again. A player of ours should be close to the Goalkeeper during corner-kicks to prevent an opposing player from stopping the Goalkeeper from moving. hat was at caused the first goal and it was so amateurish from our players. |

ykalhaji: Thank you. The evasion of the truth is so clear and it is easy to see what you pointed out. However, for one reason or the other, some will want to deny the truth. Thank you for your contribution. I think Rohr's preference for bulky strikers has to do with his continous conservative approach to the game. |

Let's see the kind of formation that Rohr will deploy in our subsequent matches. Na there I go know how good he is. It should be glaring to him by now that 3-5-2 is our weapon in Russia. That's what suits the team. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 9:51am On Jun 03, 2018 |
kellycute: how many chances did we create after we switched formation? Apart from the goal, which was kinda lucky anyways, we hardly created any chance whatsoever. The English boys were two up, they took their feet off the gas and we couldn't even muster one good final chance, in fact they probably should have even made it 3-1. So all the talk about the 3-5-2 doing this or that to the English team is hogwash for me 1 Like |

Jarus:Is it the same Ighalo I've been watching all these years or based on ONE game?? Ighalo is FAR more than just a power striker. Very streak yes but he is still our best allround striker. He's quick, skillful(yes he really is) and contrary to what I am seeing can link up play. Very surprising people are making him up to be this kind jambody immobile striker just because of yesterday. Nacho might be a better finisher but Ighalo is better allround as a 9 imo |

On a side note Salisu Yusuf although doing a good job with the team B of the Super Eagles can not run both jobs because it becomes a distraction to the Super Eagles. If another coach is working with the team B, the coaching crew would have stayed focused on the World Cup preparation. We need a thorough input into the team B. A more risky approach including large scale camping and screening, playing in a more offensive manner and giving the young ones a chance to prove themselves. A coach like Amunike looks someone that fits the bill. If Salisu Yusuf must work with the team B, he must resign from his role as the team A Assistant coach and let another work with Rohr. |

Mickael2:i see!!! The English boys took their feet off the gas same way Argentina took their feet off the gas right? Even if we win any team 5:0 some people will surely play down our effort. So the English boys took their feet off the gas that was why we scored and not because of the change of formation? I jus dey look you like.. 3 Likes

asha80:Fasting is not d issue, Shehu is not quick off the blocks, that's his problem. Against quick & skillful players he always have d same problem. Just watch him against brahimi (Algeria) u will understand. His positioning is most times poor. He stays flat footed when marking an opponent. That's why Young was having a field day. Make we keep fasting by d side. 1 Like |

kellycute: I will just ask you a simple question. Iwobi scored after 47 mins, so from 47-90mins that would amount to 43 mins, so could you please tell me one other good chance we created during that period? This was a warm up match, the English coach would have changed formation but you are already two goals up what's the point? Besides I do hope you know that this isn't England's main tactics? They were using us to test four attacking players and we were just over ran at will |

I think anybody that feels too much displeasure that we lost should think twice. It revealed a lot of things; It exposed some certain players that have no business in the team or the starting eleven. Secondly made us confirm that the 3-5-2 formation is very essential for the team. I'd seriously be perplexed is Rohr thinks otherwise. It crowds up our midfield and allows our opponents little space to operate there. Thereby making it difficult for them (opponents) to get at our back line and poor the uzoho. He was the busiest in the first due to constant attacks and exposure of our defense. I so much love that formation and I'm very confident that we'll do wonders with it if only Rohr could acknowledge and utilize it. Joel and Echiejile/Agu should be dropped, in all fairness. Ogu has shown us once again that talent is not totally limited to the caliber of league you play. He's the so underrated in the team and is still miles ahead of Joel that plays in Italy.
