Ogu brought balance to the back 3 playing the left CB lasy night, going forward, this should be his position.
I don't know, but it appears Rohr have programmed the minds of Nigerians not to be daring when analyzing this team. Shehu was about the best player in Cyprus playing as a Dm and that form continued in Turkey but somehow, people dont want him tried in that position even when you have a fumbling Joel and a the fat guy. I dont get it.

I think Shehu is another good idea in the DMF role.

If we are to go with a 3-5-2 formation, I believe giving Moses the liberty to attack will. With Iheanacho upfront pairing Moses, we will have pace and movement upfront. Iwobi supplies the firepower to the forwards while Mikel dictates the tempo.
Nice one... But this implies that Simy and Ighalo are surplus if it clicks

I don't know why I'm not really comfortable with Simmy's selection. I just feel he hasn't really done enough to deserve that selection. I have this feeling he might turn out to be another Uchebo.

I just hope I'm being scared unnecessarily especially as I'm not a fan of Ighalo sha

Where was Aina when Shehu and Ebuehi were putting up man of the match performances on the RB position

He didn't struggle enough for the RB position and messed up in the LB position

Why do you think Fabian Delph is in the world cup because he performed in an unfavorable position and was noticed to play in his preferred position.
Truth be told, its not fair on Aina

Don't waste ur mb...we played rubbish in first half

Even d second half we claim to play better,was just for d 1st 20mins of d second half,@ d latter stage of d game,england controlled d game

We can improve anyway no doubt, but if we fail to up our game from our last two friendlies,we will b extremely lucky escaping with one point from d group stage

naija don suffer....Iwobi's creativity my ass grin

Yes Iwobi is creative. He is confident with the ball on his feet, he moves well, positions well, does not indulge in unnecessary dribbling runs, he passes the ball and is also good in 1-2 passes when he wants to navigate some tight and intricate obstacles set by opponents, if people like Ighalo makes the right move when he has the ball, he passes.

Yesterday his pass to Ighalo was surreal, watch it again, it flew over the English defenders in a horizontal projectile manner and when Ighalo hit the bar, he was quick to react. He also dribbled well, sent a diagonal ground pass in the path of on rushing Idowu but awkward Joel got in his way and spoilt what would probably have resulted in a goal or at least a well taken shot would have unsettled the English keeper.

Creativity is not flicking the ball over peoples head needlessly, or nutmegs when your mates are better positioned waiting for you to pass to them. Those are beautiful nonsense.

If you have another understanding of creativity, pls share it.

endorsed. That squad you put right there would beat any team.
You can say that again. Moses and Nacho as false 9s will be sweet. But the question is will Rohr ever think of something like this?

let it know.....that the coaches poor judgement cost us should we fail @ the mundial.....

the kind of coach rohr is....is a kind of manager that will see club all through from championship to the epl and refuse to get in New players into his squad all because of loyalty...he will stick to the old boys who brought the club out from relegation...even when some of them have lost it...and that will eventually cost him his job.....

I just feel for him...probably these was abit reasons why he has never been too successful as a manager....and even the Nigeria coaches working with him have little reasonable input.
Very true.. all the assistants have proven to be mere figure heads.

I had the same opinion about the Eagles in the first half but i changed after watching that match like two times. It is very easy to criticise when you are watching it especially when tension is very high. Watch the match with an objective mind, you,ll appreciate their efforts.

If they had closed down and prevented Ashley Young and Alli from having fun in the flanks, then Sterling from cutting in and attempting to score from the angles, they would not have looked that awful.

Croatia 2 Nigeria 0
Let's not kid ourselves

I will give you a quick story.

France 98... Nigeria ended their friendlies by losing 5:1 to Holland.

Spain had a team comprising of Real Madrid Champions league winners. They were unbeaten in qualifying and had not lost any friendly.

We were not expected to be a match for them. Nothing about our form up to that point suggested that we could do it.

I remember hoping for a draw in that game but we pulled it out of the bag.

Costa Rica lost most of their friendly games but beat Italy in game 1.

It is the WC bro. Do not read too much into friendlies

OK I've been reading comments here concerning yesterday's game and I decided to come up with this little analysis of mine....

1. First, we shouldn't give up on the eagles based on the outcome of yesterday's game or d game against Congo.

2. Taking eagles to play England at the Wembley stadium (which will definitely have an overwhelming effect on any visiting team, including Brazil and Germany) few days to the world cup was a very fine initiative from the English FA, but the greatest mistake on d part of our own FA.
This simply shows that either a team psychologist is missing or the one available is not efficient. Taking ur team to play England at the Wembley few days to the world cup (who does that?) is suicidal and the obvious outcome can damage the confidence of the visiting team, going forward...

Which brings me to my third and most heart-warming point....

3. The way the eagles were able to bounce back strongly in the second half is a testament to the fact that this is a great team with high mental strength. It also shows that rohr and his technical team are capable. Scoring a goal capped that all up (and we could have had a second).

The eagles that will play against Croatia will be totally different from wat u saw in the first half of the game against England. Go and write today's date down and Mark my words.

Thanks!

Really?
I think i want to disagree with the notion that the match shouldn t have been played in wembley. Frankly, thats a very wrong mindset. These players are professionals for crying out loud!!!
When they went to play in Krasnodar last year against Argentina, were they playing under the bridge? If there is any blame, i would blame the DRC match played on a stupid playing surface. I would also blame the game against the serbs in the hive.

It doesnt get bigger than that as we had it at Wembley. I dont know what your angle is but really, its amusing. This is a high profile friendly to soak all manner of pressure.

If we actually wanna blame anyone, blame the coach for conservatism. Blame him for playing a laid back game, with useless floating of balls to Ighalo. Blame him for still experimenting at this stage. I wont blame the players for yesterday's game. The tactics for the start of the game is what made us play that way. A change of personnels later and it was as if someone took the curse of sloppy passes away. Suddenly all balls were now played on the ground....(after 2 goals in our own net)

Imagine if Rohr were to at least be brave enough to play our game. The one that brings out the best in our players sith the right combination of players? I ask myself what do they see in training that makes them field prepostrous selection on matchdays? Especially in the friendlies we have played so far? And yet we would be fooling ourselves not to read too much meanings into things because they are mere "friendlies". I have a lot to say about this games cos frankly, our coach isnt using our players according to their strengths.

I think they suit more in a conservative approach but in the 3-5-2 offensive set-up, I will opt for movement over strength. Ighalo and Simy can still fit in if we want to alter our style or approach.

Good decision to drop Aina, the guy is a very ordinary player. Wish Rohr was this ruthless with other under performing players in the team.

He played the RB position mostly this season and that's best position.

I hope he is given the chance to prove himself in that his natural role after the world cup.

Unlike, Ebuehi who was played in his best position.

No 1. Ola Aina

No 2. Tyronne Ebuehi

Anyone noticed Uzoho kicks effectively with both foot even though his services needs more sharpening so that he can be able to pick his man with those kicks and kick it further past the half way line?

Thats a plus for the Nwangele boy

Oga, calm down.

There is no cause for alarm.

Were you expecting us to beat England at Wembley?

You think we are on the same level as Brazil, Spain or Germany? Cos it is only such countries that can get a result against England at Wembley. Brazil even played a draw there. So relax.

That England game was as tough as it can get.

Playing Croatia in Russia cannot be as difficult as playing England at Wembley. Take that from me.

And let me encourage you not to lose hope in these guys. I have seen so many Nigerian teams at the WC and I have seen so many of Nigeria's preparatory games for the WC. I know what I am talking about.

A lot of people here know me as very conservative with my expectations on our players. So when I say "I have hope on these guys" I must have seen enough to have hopes on them.

I was speaking with one of my friends who watched the game in Wembley. This is his verdict:

"Onazi is the laziest DM I've seen. Watching him in the stadium convinced me even more. The camera even hides most of his flaws. His positioning off the ball is terrible!!!

He's either over aged, unfit, or both... He's been awful for Nigeria since South Africa friendly

And Joel Obi is gone... He'll struggle to impose himself in a Sunday league game.

Oh... Didn't know about dropping Ola Aina and Agu... Agu is another terrible player. I wonder how he even gets called up

I'm quite optimistic about our chances though. The goal keeper is improving with every game"

I actually think that this is a very good formation, bro. If (and that's a big IF) Rohr can get VicMo to play with the same discipline he plays at Chelsea; this would definitely be the most effective formation we can try starting with our last friendly match. I mean, in Ebuehi, we already have a solid wingback ... the only thing missing is the LWB.

But the other big question is, can VicMo play LWB?

O pari

YES! MOSES CAN PLAY IT. The problem is getting him to play and to put on a tactical discipline just the way he does it for Chelsea.

Eric dier a defensive midfielder got more goals than sterling with lesser caps

How many clear chance have you watch ighalo missed? He rarely get chances, his ball control are top notch,if not for ighalo brilliance by controlling that ball with the chest and shoot to the bar how will iwobi score ?

How many goal has Kanu even score for Nigeria ?
I wonder! It baffles me how some people ignore the fact that our midfield sf does not provides strikers the luxury of scoring frequent opportunities.
