gamaliel9: Changing of personel early in a game also has its own negative effects. Changing up to 6 players for a friendly game has given Rohr that opportunity to switch tactical formations at will. For the games proper he can only make 3 substitutions at the group stage. And out of this 3 available substitutions you cannot waste 2 on full backs. Rohr needs to field his back line that can give their best for 90mins. So he can maximize the available options on switches in the front line and midfield positions. 3 Likes 1 Share |

edi287: I just saw the 2nd half of the match against Eng and I am watching the match against Zambia. I can tell that Mikel still got the energy drop back and help dictate play if only the coach makes him understand that he has to. However, I still see Onazi and Ndidi play. Except the coach decides to play Mikel deep, then Mikel and Ndidi will start. |

TheGoodJoe:Counter attack is negative football. I feel cheated when I hear or read this team being described as a counter attacking team. Counter attack means you are attacked first and you wait to hit back. If I'm a coach I will never play this kind of game. If you pass me, you pass me but I go attack oo, I will attack. Once you have a good midfield and defence why wait to be attacked before you attack? 1 Like |

Mujtahida: It is not like that always. Diego Simeone adopted a negative approach after repeated losses. Sometimes coaches adjust to keep themselves in the game. However, it takes a lot of passion and bravery to maintain an attacking philosophy. 2 Likes 1 Share |

One factor that will determine our success in Russia is Rohr's starting Eleven. We need to sort out our midfield and the no 9 position in such a way that we can easily switch from one formation to the other. 1 Like |

I saw a video of John Ogu suffering a panic attack on board a flight to Austria yesterday. That video was inappropriate to say the least because I didn't see any humour in it rather I saw something capable of straining his relationship with those who were recording it. Our players seem to be getting it all wrong with their social media presence and display. I feel social media does more harm than good in football. Little wonder most countries have placed their players on regulations. A situation whereby a player Visits the Internet for his assessment when there are trolls who derive joy in running your confidence down is very bad. I remember Mikel had to delete his Twitter account after his back pass led to Chelsea defeat by Juventus sometime in 2013. These players need to take it easy. They are not show businessmen. 6 Likes |

Hopefully the team's video analyst is doing his job. I re watched the game against England this evening and to be honest, Mikel Obi looked heavy, the guy was immobile and he let players go through him on multiple occasions when England attacked from corner kicks. England nearly scored a 3rd goal when he was out jumped by Stones in the second half while the first goal was due to poor man marking between him and Ekong. Looks like Rohr has set up the team to defend set pieces using the zonal marking method. The problem with zone marking is that if one player slacks in his duty, the cookie could crumble. AIG07:I just watched the first again cos the rain on the day prevented me from getting a smooth view. More than his skills and flair Iwobi played with urgency and determination. Perhaps to spite the English, I don't know where the fire came from but he was everywhere and his movement was intelligent. If this team plays with determination, I will forgive them any failures. I hate slack football. 1 Like |

Icon4s: Yes,so he needs to start with his best players and best formation that suits them....i have a hunch that he knows that our best formation is 3-5-2...he is trying 4-2-3-1 as a back up..At the worlc cup proper...the best of everything is what we want |

That quote from Aina was after he played as a LB in one of Hull’s games. He played 12 matches as LB. That role isn’t entirely new to him. Yes Ogu did pretty well as CB Modified I though he did well. Had to see if his stats was good. Not surprised. forgiveness:

Honestly, I am not happy both Agu and Aina were dropped after watching the match we played against Zambia in Uyo just now. Agu was everywhere and did a very good job in that match after he came on for Onazi. This boy even played against Cameroun and still did well yet he was dropped. Na wa ooo. Before Aina came on for Elderson the Zambians had a field day in his position. They exposed him so badly that hr had to feign injury to avoid been disgraced. When Aina came on the right wing of the Zambians, they could no longer penetrate that side of our defense and he offered more in the attack. He combined well with Victor and at one point, they exchanged passes before he beat his marker on the run to lay a beautiful pass to Victor but Victor messed up the chance. How come nobody saw that? Anyway, Rohr don put himself for tight corner with his selection and nothing less than a good outing will save his job. Many Nigeria fans are not happy these two players were dropped and they will hold him responsible for bad performance which nobody is praying for. NFF nogo fit save dem job not to talk of Rohr. Besides, Mikel was a beauty to behold in the second half against England. I noticed Iwobi dropped deep to help dictate play and both he and Mikel were the anchor of the team. Wow! I just love watching my Mikel. Ogu was exposed big time at the back when we were attacked. Na Troost saved him. 4 Likes |
