Where did Shehu benched Agu in the last 8 matches?

When was the first match Shehu played for the team in Turkey? January 27th, 2018

Did he bench Agu who just came back from serious injury? No. Agu still played on that day.

Did he bench him in the second match? No because Agu was suspended due to yellow card.

Did he bench him in the third match? I don't think so. Though Shehu started and Agu rested. It's called rotation because in the next match Agu played but Agu started from the bench.

So, did Shehu bench Agu in the fourth match? No. Shehu came on as a RM.

Did Shehu bench Agu in the fifth match? No Agu still started the match while Shehu played the RM position.

Agu still went ahead to start 5 matches save one. In which in three of those matches he paired Shehu but played the RM in one the match and missed one match due to suspension.

Where did he bench him?

Even in those 4 matches you claimed he benched Agu, Shehu played another role in a match.

So, who played in Agu role when Shehu played another role?

Definitely, Shehu never benched and confined Agu to the bench. Fact

Anything outside this, is a big fat lie.

shehu started as a right back im bursaspor but after that was sent back to the midfield

Even in this recent England friendly Mikel fouled that mumu Sterling, Mikel now offered him hand, Sterling shooed Mikel and shunned him. Where I was watching the match, na so people curse Sterling. One man now said even Mikel's greeting was too much. That he should have just tapped Sterling shikena. And I see reason with that. Siasia, Amokachi, Oliseh them all had this robust and positive arrogance. They respected you but were no shrinking rats around their peers. Heck, Oliseh marked the Almighty Diego Maradona and disturbed him wella in 94. We need some swagger abeg. This humility no be am. Remember Iheanacho and Otamendi. Otamendi wey dey like aguagua dey even beat Iheanacho hand comot from him shoulders.

What I am saying is that covering a full back does not mean pursuing the full back to defend someone high up the pitch. In this case, Onazi was not covering the full back but pressing along with the fullback and thus creating a huge gap and imbalance in the defence.

In the picture below, he is totally off position and not part of the defensive set-up in any way.

yes it happens too, you double up with the right back, they were playing from the wings and there full backs(trippier and walker? were very fast and there wingers were equally fast too, he needed to help our full backs out.

did you see moses in that picture?? he was suppose to come back to help Bryan, iwobi was already deep. open your mind to understand this better

Comprehensive analysis part 1

...................

After watching our England friendly again yesterday, here is my comprehensive reports of the match and players assessment

First of the block is our 4-3-3 formation which Rohr played in the first half. It wasn't a flat 4-3-3 rather it was a 4-2-1-3 where Onazi and Joel Obi were meant to shield the defence immediately while Mikel was to sit back behind our 3 attackers.

Ordinarily this setup should work if each man played his part well but unfortunately Onazi and Joel obi didn't and the whole team ended up paying for it.

Onazi in particular was terribly piss-poor in that match that it seems it was a deliberate attempt to by him to disorganize our play. Damn, Onazi couldn't stay in his position, he couldn't mark, he couldn't pass, he couldn't hold on to the ball, he was everywhere but no where in particular.

Several times he was caught out of position, and when we struggle to win back the ball and pass to him, Onazi will gladly gift the ball back to the English. The only time he made a successful pass was when he hurriedly returned a pass back to Joel Obi who initially passed to him because he was under pressure with 3 markers on him, but what did Onazi do?.. He passed back to Joel who was already choked shocked obviously the ball was stolen.

Onazi kept on leaving gaps after gaps for the English to exploit, he would rather do another person's job than do his. Several times Idowu and Joel will have their man marked only for Onazi to run in from nowhere claiming he wants to mark too. Mikel will go forward to press, and you will see Onazi chasing him angry

Now we won't be talking about this issue if he was winning these balls, no! Because while he is running, Before he gets to assist his colleagues and inorder to double team the opponent,.. Fiam!... The opponent has passed the ball straight to the same spot where Onazi is coming from, leaving behind acres of space and time for a damage to be done.

Again and again this repeated sloppy play was what Onazi kept on doing. It was terrible and an eyesore to watch. I wonder how he is going to remedy such shambolic display. He should be forced to remain in front of the two center backs please.

As for Joel Obi, that one was another error going forward. They were several times he sent balls forward which didn't connect with our Frontline. He always kick the ball so waywardly without end product. In middle and defense, it was a battle between him and Onazi on who will get more in each other's way.

He was busy playing what we call "anywhere belle face" football. Both on the ball and off the ball. He had no business clashing with Balogun because he should have seen that the ball was Balogun's to clear from miles away, he actually made us a laughing stock with that head clash.

If Onazi or idowu or Moses had the ball, instead of opening for a pass, he will rather bump into them. Likewise Onazi, instead of opening for a pass, he will go and bump or intercept the player with the ball. Honestly, Rohr should have dropped one of the two.

Henceforth, i will suggest that if Rohr will play a 4-3-3 then it should be a flat one and should not be a 4-2-1-3 triangle anymore because with the triangle, plenty spaces will be left behind our CM and DM.

Let it be a trio of Onazi - - Mikel - - Joel instead of

Onazi - - - - - Joel
\ /
Mikel

The flat 3 man middle will be better than a triangle 3 man middle.

But honestly, 3-5-2 formation should be our main formation going into this world Cup. We succeeded in qualifiers against African oppositions using 4-3-3 but it seems 4-3-3 isn't working anymore against the rest of the world.

Football is dynamic, if we are well suited with 3-5-2 against world oppositions then by all means that is what we should be perfecting now.

Most matches are won from the midfield, whoever controls the middle dictates how the match will go, and whoever dictates how the match will go will most likely (around 80% of the time) determines who wins the game.

Let Rohr stop the experiments and focus on our midfield play and 3-5-2 formation perfection because as it is we don't have any problems with our Goalkeeping, Defense and attack. Our problem now is the our midfield... I repeat!.. We have a big problem in that midfield of ours.

Presently the midfield doesn't link up and provide supply for our strikers, the midfield doesn't provide cover for our defenders.. The midfield is presently not doing its job and Rohr is supposed to focus there. The middle is responsible for our uncoordinated play for so many matches now. Onazi and Joel should be made to sit on the bench with their seat belt fastened!!

Let Ogu, Etebo, and Ndidi pair mikel there henceforth.. Enough is Enough angry This experimentation with Joel Obi or Onazi must stop, it has to stop!!

A Highly intelligent post. Some people will still watch the same match 5 million times and still see what they want to see, like dem dey watch the back of television.

10billion gbosas for you jare! Love ur post. Kpom!

Rohr has the final say.

I think when he starts with a 4 backline he prefers Shehu but when he switches to 3 backline he prefers Ebuehi.

Seems Rohr has decided to stick to the 4 back and keeps switching to 3 back when the need arises.

Idowu copes well with both set up and that is a plus for both him and the team as no substitution of him is needed to switch tactics.

But Rohr would have to substitute Shehu for Ebuehi to switch tactics.

It is obvious Rohr is not comfortable starting games with 3-5-2.

Let's just watch and see how today's game will play out.

Ebuehi can play in both setup, shehu is a defensive midfielder

Shehu was the preferred choice after Er took over as coach is far different from saying Shehu benched Agu in the Turkish league. The latter could be misleading because it is is pretty vague

The point is Shehu has been the preferred choice since Er took over.. gat it??

you are just saying a bunch of nothings. Both players are right-footed. It's just like saying a striker can only flourish if played in the right side of a two-prong attack. And that he has only played once in his career on the left side of a two-prong attack. Are you even thinking? Where did Agu feature for the Super Eagles? Where did Agu feature in his club career besides Bursaspor, was it always on the right side DM? There isn't any SIGNIFICANT difference playing on the right or left of a double pivot DM, especially when comparing two players that are both right-footed. gat it? In fact I can give you 8-10 matches Agu featured on the left side of a double pivot prior to his move to Turkey. It's not new to him. The fact remains Er sees Shehu as a better DM. It is clear like broad daylight.

Modified
Let me even take you on as regards the period Shehu arrived the Super Lig to the time Le Guen was sacked,

1. Against Alanyaspor, Shehu paired with Agu in a double pivot. Left and Right respectively.
2. Against Besiktas, Agu served a match suspension, Shehu played as a single DM in front of the center backs
3. Against Akhisarspor, Shehu played as a single DM ahead of the center backs. While Agu was benched
Question: Why was Agu not the preferred player in that role?
4. Against Malatyaspor, Agu played on the left side of a double pivot. Shehu was benched (Agu the preferred choice clearly).
Question: Didn't Agu feature on the left side?
5. Against Galatasaray, Agu was deployed to the left side DM in a 3-4-2-1 formation, Shehu featured as RM
Question: Didn't Agu play at the left side here?
6. Against Kayserispor, Shehu deployed to left side pivot DM. Agu benched
Question: Why wasn't Agu favored to start in the left side (where he played in the previous game)?
7. Against Osmanlispor, Shehu at left DM, Agu in the right.
8. Against Sivasspor, Shehu serves suspension, Agu in the left side double pivot DM
Question: Here we go again. Agu plays in the left side DM. What were you yapping?
9. Against Antalyaspor, Shehu played as RM, Agu in the left side of double pivot DM
Question: Here we go again. What are you yapping?
10. Against Kasimpasa, Shehu paired Agu. Shehu at left side of DM, and Agu right

The above is the breakdown from the time Shehu arrived at Bursasor till the time Le Guen was sacked.
Oga, do you still have a case?
The only time Shehu was benched, Agu played on the left side DM. And he also played there several times since Shehu arrived.

Isn't it clear that they are somewhat in competition for DM roles? Be a saint bro and admit the truth.

Chai! It is no longer Shehu benched Agu in Turkey.... Agu is been bench by Shehu our right back in their club.... Shehu is benching Agu but rather it's now Shehu has been the preferred choice since Er took over Bhuuuhahaha! grin

Did Shehu bench Agu in the first match Er took over? Hahahahahaha! No! Agu and Shehu played together.

Does that look like since Er took over? grin

In the next match Shehu remained but Agu was dropped for Soyalp and not for Shehu, and that continued for 3 straight games. EOD

Out of the 6 matches remaining since took over, Agu and Shehu played the first match. It was in the next match he was replaced by Soyalp.

Even Shehu was played in the RM in the 5 matches he played.

Where did Shehu bench Agu? grin

Anyway, you have ended the false information with the bolded. EOD

I doubt if rohr would be starting two CF in Russia.

Formation likely to be played 4-2-3-1

..............Uzoho.............

Ebuehi, Ekong, Omerou, Idowu

...............Ndidi,Mikel......

Ihenacho.............iwobi.............moses

.......................ighalo...................

Mikel and Ndidi should partner, 60min then Ogu and onazi, simy should come in as a substitute.

Mikel and Ndidi combo would be deadly for any team to contain with, they both have good long passes and how to shield thE ball properly.

So don't be surprised seeing Ebuehi on the bench despite his performance.

Ogu waited till Algeria match to make the team and later had a good performance against Argentina but invitation to Joel Obi put Ogu back to the bench.

My submission is Rohr doesn't rate Ebuehi cos he deserves the starting lineup in any formation based on his performance so far, hope you know i rate Shehu highly but with Congo and England match,Ebuehi should start.

Moses can be dropped! U have 2 choices here.... either to take it or leave it. It is these kind of assurances that makes a player do his own thing at the expense of the good of the team. If moses can learn how to cooperate with team mates, i have no problem with it. But at the rate he is going, i sincerely hope over reliance on his style of play will not cost us at the world cup.

I personally dont hate Moses. What I dont like is his seeming arrogance, lack of will to play with team mates and also lack of passion. He can get it right a few times but he gets it wrong most of the time with his selfish play. End of story!

Ebuehi should thank his star that Argentina 45 mins was his saving grace till today.

So don't be surprised seeing Ebuehi on the bench despite his performance.

Ogu waited till Algeria match to make the team and later had a good performance against Argentina but invitation to Joel Obi put Ogu back to the bench.

Akpeyi really meassed up but Rohr still stick to him.Don't be deceived Rohr rate Akpeyi than Ezenwa,Uzoho was just the face saving, likely Akpeyi would have been number one despite his flaws.

Idowu should count himself lucky that Echiejile had abysmal season he would have been on the bench for Echiejile.

If we want to base it on performance Shehu should be on the bench today.

So true, the man Genort Rorh is a stubborn coach. If Moses Simon was not Injured,I know he won't mind taking a Joel Obi ahead of an Attacking option in Simy Nwankwo.

Little wonder Agbo was invited in every match but was never tested in any of the match. The man is just too rígid. Imagine it takes him second half to play a formation that gives him edge over his opponents and to play his game changers. I expect him to start Simy Nwankwo today and see if he could be a much better goal threat than Ighalo and Iheanacho but the man is
rígid to the core.

World Cup is 10 days from now, most teams won't wait for a second half to cause serious damage and secure their points.
