Yeah, you can terminate your TB before maturity date, but you won't get up to the capital you deposited. There's a way they calculate the stuff. This was what I was told when I went to first Bank

Pls I don't understand the difference between primary and secondary rates that i am seeing here. Plz some one should help me and explain this tb in a more understanding way. I need to make a decision.lol.

Primary market is where newly issued T-bills are sold or auctioned with a primary rate determined by the DMO .

Secondary market is where already issued T-bills are re-sold using the secondary rate determined by plethora of forces but mostly takes its que form primary market rates.

The most important thing is for you to determine the rate that works for you.

If you get 10% per year on #2M looking at the prevalent rate that should be #200,000 per year, divide that by 12, you should have about #16,6666 per month, then for 3 months you will have about #50,000. for 90 days tenure.

For those talking about Diamond bank not giving good rates, I can’t say for sure but I can say for myself. I did TBill with Diamond bank. Though before I fixed, I compared their rate to that of zenith bank.

In March, I got 12.5% for 225 days. 12% for 176 days. 11% for 85 days.

I jumped on the 12.5 for 225 days.

After a while in April. I sent more money to be funded but the rates dropped.

Was in first week of April I got 12.25% for 305 days and I locked down on that.

Was too stressed to be going from bank to bank asking or transferring money and opening accounts here and there!

Next week Wednesday 13 June 2018 if I am not mistaken.
Yes. It is possible to apply without visiting the bank. Contact the bank by email to request for the Treasury bill application form (or write a letter requesting purchase of Treasury bills) stating the amount and your preferred tenor.

yes GTBank its possible, u jzt need to write them letter and sign the letter with handwritten.
for First bank i have no idea

I purchased a certain amount of treasury bills last week and that exact amount was deducted from my account but my interest has not been paid yet. Will I get the interest at the end of the tenor? I thought it was at the beginning.

COT charges applies to current accounts alone and the charge is now N1 for every N1,000 transferred or withdrawn.. Transfer charge normally should be N52.5 if the amount involved is not heavy. However instead of moving the money from bank to bank you may wish to make you findings/enquiries first and check what it's best for before doing the transfer after all.. All banks these days do instant transfer.

i know this must be first Bank and its also happened to me. they debited me on monday and haven’t credited my interest and i didn’t select anything like invest with interest

Hello fellow investors. Please i need assistance/ advice as regards redeeming my TBills before maturity. I subscribe for my tbill at stanbic though i have had couples of tbills transactions but i am a newbie when it comes to redeeming fund before maturity. I needed the money urgently. How do i go about it in stanbic IBTC. If anyone has done it before pls show me the way

Q3 you meant sir.

Good news is for the first time since Q3'17, they'll be selling over 1trn worth of these bills. one may want to slow down on buying long tenors now.

You could enter the term "premature termination" into the search bar of this page. It should show you past discussions we've had.

However if you give details such as when you bought, the rate you got and the tenor, I'll see about giving estimates of what your termination proceeds would be. Good thing is Stanbic is pretty good with early termination.
