superhumanist:Oh, can one wonder why you are severely unhinged from reality. You made a mistake to stop reading in 2002. To remain mentally stable you must read Harry Potter daily. BUTTERFLYLEO will agree that you are the reason JK Rowling got a bad name. |

ScienceWatch: Harry Potter books did not end till several years later...I think the last canon one was in 2006/2007. Please, stop showing your ignorance. I will not derail and so, this will be my last comment to you here. 1 Like |

Thanks everyone else. I know its damn hard, but first can I plead with you to ignore any post that is not relevant to the thread. Ignore the ignorant! Question 1 Did you read Harry Porter while in Nigeria? |
Re: Platform 9¾ by superhumanist(m): 3:16pm On Jun 06, 2018 |

Question 2 How old were you when you read your first Harry Potter? Question 3 What impact would you say the books had on you? |
Re: Platform 9¾ by superhumanist(m): 4:03pm On Jun 06, 2018 |
budaatum: Nope these were personal books. Some were mine and some for friends. We all bought these books from UK/USA. Animal farm is popular because it was once on the educational curriculum |

Re: Platform 9¾ by HappyPagan: 4:44pm On Jun 06, 2018 |
budaatum:Yeah, I did. budaatum:About 14. budaatum: Huge one. I once had a habit of going through the whole series at least twice a fan. Harry Potter isn't the typical superhero stereotype (large muscles, big brains, superhuman powers). Rather, his victories come through a combination of luck, help from friends, and most importantly, a firm belief in his abilities. Hollywood painted it a sort of kiddy Halloween special, but for me, the books tell a much deeper story : of friendship, family, and the eternal fight between good and evil. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Platform 9¾ by ScienceWatch: 5:05pm On Jun 06, 2018 |
budaatum:Answer Q2. I first read it in my first year at varsity age 17. Answer Q3. it’s a fantastic series that will make you happy forever, but also because—according to new studies—reading JK Rowling’s series will make you a better, kinder person. Unfortunately, Harry Potter made me intolerant of bullies. 1 Like |

I read it as an adult, much later than when it came out. That was the first one anyways. So perhaps I missed out on the on the influence it had on those younger. The rest, I watched as movies and I have to say I intensely disliked Emma Watson's acting but overall quite enjoyable. So on me, no discernible impact. 1 Like 1 Share |

budaatum:Lool. ;DJediism is from star wars and in the last census in the UK, there were thousands of people that identified that as their religion. Everyone knows Kings Cross is an actual train station in London but ofcourse the story is very much fantasy, just like.. Harry Potter is half muggle (mum is not magical) just like... 1 Like |

You are protected, in short, by your ability to love! The only protection that can possibly work against the lure of power like Voldemort's! In spite of all the temptation you have endured, all the suffering, you remain pure of heart, just as pure as you were at the age of eleven, when you stared into a mirror that reflected your heart's desire, and it showed you only the way to thwart Lord Voldemort, and not immortality or riches. Harry, have you any idea how few wizards could have seen what you saw in that mirror? It Takes a Village to Raise a Chosen One |
