Please brothers in the house help me and clarify this, my friend got married with a Nigeria guy living in Kenya but the marriage didn't last and crashed after 5months, now she gained admission in Canada and she had change the ex- husband name in her passport to her normal names has it appears in all her documents. The question is now she want to apply for Visa using the online route, "Is she suppose to also scan and upload the newspaper page she published it showing the formal name (the ex husband's name) as part of the process to change name in international passport, along with her new passport? |

The update is normal. It only means that they are at the stage of reviewing your file for medical result, by the time they check and see the form uploaded that you require medical examination, then, they will send the form for medical request to you. I believe that might happen tomorrow morning or sometimes next week. I wish you all the best . Mrsecman: |

Mrsecman: You will be called for medicals soon! The good news is on its way. Sometimes medical request comes this way. Relax! |

Titaniium:It's a good sign. Be hopeful your medical request is coming shortly! |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Prudento: 8:05pm On Jun 07, 2018 |
Frankrobbn1: "Sometimes"... So CIC has no Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)... |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 8:14pm On Jun 07, 2018 |
Prudento: Yeah! I have seen an applicant who was called for medicals with such update on her CIC account! There are no set out standards to which CIC follows prior an applicant will be called for medicals. Sometimes it comes this way. Both applicants should be hopeful, it's a good sign. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Prudento: 8:19pm On Jun 07, 2018 |
Mrsecman: When did you apply? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 8:22pm On Jun 07, 2018 |
olufiz89:olufiz89, Using the bolded (your sisters husband brother) as a sponsor to your visa application will be unrealistic to the visa officer. If you must make use of the above individual as a sponsor, the financial commitment from him must be very very strong (i.e Paying full tuition and transferring funds in a dorm account) and the reasons for sponsorship must appear very convincing too. But, you stand a chance if you use a direct relative... Father, mother, brother, sister, uncle or aunt as your sponsor rather than the above person. Kind Regards! |

olufiz89: In addition to someone's suggestion above, I also think that if you must use this person you do not neccessarily have to use the description you used above. I would just say "Brother in-law". In that way its not clear if its your sisters husband or his brother. I hope that doesnt mean misrepresentation hopefully someone on the forum would suggest if that is ok |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 8:44pm On Jun 07, 2018 |
ayoadefantastic:ayoadefantastic, Nice tips from you! Even as that, using a Brother-in-law is also unfeasible here! Because, the Visa officer will question his sponsorship, why should a brother-in-law leave all his direct relations, immediate family members, dependants and now spending so much for an inlaw (applicant) to school abroad in a country like Canada where education is so demanding, the high tuition and living expenses. What has this applicant (inlaw) done to deserve such preferential treatments from a brother-in-law. What the brother-in-law stands to gain as a result of this sponsorship should be addressed in the letter of sponsorship. I have read so many GCMS Notes where a Visa officer is not satisfied with a brother-in-law sponsoring an applicant to Canada. I advise the applicant should go for a direct relative rather than a brother-in-law. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by HiSignature: 8:57pm On Jun 07, 2018 |
I understand you both but I have seen a brother -in-law (husband to another sister) stand in as sponsor with the applicants brother and it worked. In the person's case, the brother in law had the bulk of the money in investment. If such a person has been partly involved in his life before and can be proved....he can try it. Some people have gotten approved with cases not that convincing. Truth of the matter still remains that there is no blue print for this process. God's favour above all. Frankrobbn1: 4 Likes |
