You could enter the term "premature termination" into the search bar of this page. It should show you past discussions we've had.

However if you give details such as when you bought, the rate you got and the tenor, I'll see about giving estimates of what your termination proceeds would be. Good thing is Stanbic is pretty good with early termination.

By the end of July, rates are likely to be higher than they currently are. (+200bps maybe) So it'd be basically cheaper to liquidate now if you have an alternative vehicle to invest the funds in between now and end July. An MMF would make a good one.

thanks bro went to GT saw my account officer he gave me instruction form and we agreed on next TBill auction which is next week ( 13-06-18 ) but he hasn't giving me any rate

just go to your bank and inform them at the customer care section. You will just need to write a letter terminating the Tbills. that's all. and access bank paid me that same day I went to terminate my tbills.

I got 11.25% 225 days yesterday June 6th. GTB Secondary market.

pls put me through FBN and GTB said dey can't give me rate as at now until av been debited and by d end of d day dey will credit me my discount cos dey don't know rate that it flunctuate.......
my account officer in GTB said d last Tbill rate was ( 364 days @ 10.5%) ( 182 days @ 10%) ( 91 days @ 9.9% )

They are right. Primary market is an auction through a bidding process. It is after the end of the auction that a rate is known. Look at this way. It is like telling an auctioneer to give you the price of an item that you are going to bid with other people when the auction has not even taken place. It is only in secondary market that a rate is known immediately.

COT charges applies to current accounts alone and the charge is now N1 for every N1,000 transferred or withdrawn.. Transfer charge normally should be N52.5 if the amount involved is not heavy. However instead of moving the money from bank to bank you may wish to make you findings/enquiries first and check what it's best for before doing the transfer after all.. All banks these days do instant transfer.

I believe rates will soon go up like AwesomeJ stated. Fgn savings bond rate is higher than the last Tbill stop rate I saw. Meaning government wants to lock up the rate for longer term before the rates increase.

With STERLING BANK you can do as little as 100k.

No.. The charges have already been deducted from you interest. That 114k is what you will get.
