Good afternoon great people, I have been following this thread for awhile and I'm really interested in giving the Australian PR program a go.
I'm 37, with a Bsc and MBA in business management and has about 10 years of experience in banking, currently a business service manager. My wife has a Bsc in environmental mgt and works for an NGO.
Questions:
What is required to do the skills assessment, how will I indicate my interest, which body should I choose and how are the payments to the assess organizations made.

Please assist.
Thank you.

Hello mamajaz. Like I told you, I lost my job, so I am having a challenge financing my migration to Australia. I still need to write PTE or IELTS to increase my point. But, my financial situation is getting better gradually by God's grace so I am currently working on it.

@ Wapu, it is only NSW that is nominating Chemical Engineer for 189. I have not seen any other region or state nominating the occupation for 489 or 189.If you know of any please kindly inform me about this.

You are right only NSW is nominating for 190.
SA has special conditions attached to it.

I really don't know about RPL, which link can I read that up on? I only know of ACS which is to body that assesses ICT business Analyst.
I studied computer science with Economics from OAU

For ACS you go through RPL if you have IT experience but you didn't study a course related to IT.
That's where the career episodes as you call it comes in.

If you studied a course related to IT your Transcript, Certificate, References are the major things you need you can look up their other requirements.

Your References can make or mare your assessment. Make sure it's inline with the JD of that anzco code.

I'll advice you search and read Alphadoor and AZy123 posts. It helped me.

I had my writing move from 6.5 to 8 and my scores on the others weren't even as good as yours.

Same for speaking two different IELTS remark so I would say give it a try.

All the best.

quote author=junebaby post=68218920]Good morning all, a friend needs advice on EOR for ielts.
Have a score of 9887. I adviced he should consider a remark for the writing. My questions:
1) can the remark ever turn to lower scores?
2) can the remark jump up to 8?

Thanks in adv[/quote]

You need to read the first few pages of this thread. The Radio guys I know don't come on this thread again.

Your need to write IELTS Academic and score 7 bands and above in each module.
get your transcript and visit ASMIRT site to checkout the required documents and then apply for assessment.
After you get your assessment, you can apply for visa if you have accumulated more than 60 points.
Or you can approach states for nomination. The last time i checked, there are many states nominating Medical Radiographers.

Key: 7 in each module of IELTS.

OK,
Thanks. Please are you a medical radiographer, if so?

Can I chat u privately?

Hi Odundimple, I found E2 language useful and also this website https://www.ptemocktest.com whch will help build your confidence, you can similarly try tongue twisters to help your pronounciation. Best of luck

Hi,

I thought Chemical Engineer has a caveat** on the list as not eligible to apply for any state nomination 190?

Has there been an update to this from the 2017 release? I haven't been following recent changes to the list, but it's worth triple checking to be sure it's an eligible occupation for 190 sponsorship before proceeding to avoid disappointments and waste of time and cost.

From what I recall, Chemical Engineer is only on the Medium to Long term Skilled list; it's not on the short term list. Consequently, it only qualifies for 189 and few others but strictly not 190 or 457 which was indicated by a caveat** on the occupation.

This information may have been obsolete as I'm not abreast of current updates to the list. So, it's best revisiting the subject with a view to debunk the above claim before proceeding further.

Best wishes.

I don't see anything different here.

It's either you get a visitor's visa to visit your friend or you migrate like everyone else is trying to do via skilled migration.

Alphadoor:

welll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,

It totally depends upon which visa category you are applying for.

Talking about skilled migration visas, there are three important visa categories namely,

· Australia Skilled Independent visa subclass 189

· Australia nominated visa subclass 190

· Australia skilled regional provisional subclass 489

If you are applying for subclass 189, there is no requirement to have minimum funds which you need to show in Australia for skilled Independent subclass 189 visa.

But, it is best advised to have a basic amount of AUD$ 10,000 when you land in Australia because you may need money for house rent, food and travel expense etc.

However, if you are applying for Australia state nominated visa subclass 190 which is a state nomination visa, you might be asked by the Australian Immigration officials to show funds.
Every state under state nomination program has the different immigration requirements.
Each state having its own eligibility criteria ,
Some states like Victoria and New South Wales don’t ask for POF
whereas states like Western Australia, Queensland, requires POF evidence ,
South Australia requires you to declare POF (i.e no evidence required, Just say you have it).

You can check the website of the states nominating your occupation for comprehensive details.

Hello Wise ones,

I keenly crave your advice, I have a Btech in Estate Management and currently work as a Facilities Manager for over 10 years.

Although the 2 courses are related, my BTech Transcript does not carry much of Facilities Management course, it just about 10% of my undergraduate courses that are majorly Facilities Management.

I am about to send my credentials to VETASSESS for assessment, please I need your urgent advice on this considering the fact that my current profession is about 10% of the courses in the Transcript.

Please help......................
