God can tell u who to get married to if only u carefully listen to him, some times He uses his servant to speak to us.my late apostle was a specialist in this field.u would meet him to tell him baba as he was fondly called cos he was old I ave a some1 in my life I want to get married to he will simply tell u to bring his/her name and ask u to come back in a stipulated time.one thing he was known for, he wouldn't give u any answer without a reason and he will never go back on his words because he was simply instructed by God.when my cousin was planning of getting married to a guy based in Europe she was carried away the guy was rich but my cousin never knew he was happily married with 3 kids and they were all living together, few weeks to the wedding she went to break the news to baba she was getting married and when she was been prayed for baba fell in the spirit and told her to call off the wedding ,according to his words I saw affluence, riches and a lot of good things but there is a little secret that's going to ruin ur life for ever go and find out I can't bless the Union.the man God has destined for you he will personally come to ur family house to look for u when u see him u will b convinced he is the right one for u.she went home did her research and found out the guy was married already. 2 Likes |

amuwaiting I think Airforce1 is right by quoting "findeth". It amazes me when issues like this come up, single boys and girls comment rubbish. The " findeth" says it all, that who can "find her" . It is hard to find a wife. There are ladies but you are searching for a lady transformed by her virtues she has acquired to turn to a wife. You need God's guidance to do that. It can come if you pray, God can reveal to you in dreams or through a TRUE a man of God (test the spirit to know). |

Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
You should take more time to study the Bible. Know more about the God you serve before creating threads just to make the front-page or get irrelevant likes
Tomorrow is Monday. Work calls. Read that verse up there. Read different translations and ask yourself.
Why did that part advise me not to lean on my own understanding?
Be wise bro. Have a great week ahead see how you just trolled yourself for nothing .. you have to know marriage is a way, and when going into that way, you commit it into the hands of God, God direct me... not leaning on your own understanding will make you avoid match making, but leaning on the word of God will make you know that God stance is for you to find a good thing . |

A wife material spotted.see the problem of most Nigerian is so far something is not working for them they tend to discredit it. JupiterGeekVII: shouldn't have placed God in the same category as pastors. There're many false pastors who mislead people into the wrong marriage. I'm definitely an advocate of not asking pastors for confirmation or letting them decide for you.
But I don't see anything wrong with asking God. Yes, He has given us the freewill; who we marry isn't pre-determined, we choose. At the same time, we can seek His face and guidance to determine whether we're making the right decision or not, and unlike pastors, He will not mislead. You just have to make sure you listen well because God has different ways of answering prayers.
Instinct/intuition can be God's way of speaking. But one has to be discerning because it might not be of God. 2 Likes |

There are a lot of other references that depict this (I'm too lazy tonight tho). And moreover, since there is reference to it once or twice or more, why don't you just agree that it is normal to seek God's guidance first, before making any important decision in life? There are a lot of ways you can do that anyway (still lazy tonight). Well, I will write my input explicitly 2moro peobably, by His grace. Cheers bro! |

Toks2008: Many people have been decieved into terrible marriages or prevented from marrying a good spouse in the name of "My Pastor said" or "GOD said".
I believe there is so much hypocrisy surrounding this matter. Lets face it..how come people don't seek GOD's face or ask a pastor for confirmation if the prospective spouse is an extreme opposite of what they desire..?
How many educated ladies will bother to ask GOD or pastor to confirm if a known armed robber is the one should such woos for marriage? How many Guys will go to GOD to confirm for them if a popular LovePeddler is the one? But often times we tend to fool ourselves going to a pastor or going to bother GOD to tell us if a seemingly desirous prospective partner comes our way and i tend to wonder.
In the entire scriptures, there were only two instances where GOD expressly gave a clear direction concerning choosing a spouse and in those two instances, it was a very difficult choice and that was when God commanded the prophet Hosea, “Go, take to yourself a wife of whoredom and have children of whoredom.Hosea 1:2. And the second instance was when GOD sked Joseph to marry Mary who was already pregnant.
GOD respects our freedom of choice and for the Christians, we are encouraged to be yoked with fellow Believers and as far as GOD is concerned, A man has the sole responsibility to find a wife and once he finds one and marries her, he obtains favour from GOD. Proverbs 18:22.
The summary of this piece is that we should stop deceiving ourselves by saying 'Prophet said, My pastor said, Alfa said...' because in the real sense, it is our mind telling us what we want to hear. You can rely on your intuition or peculiar signs that gives you confirmation but we should stop hiding behind those words 'GOD SAID'
As a man,it is your paramount duty to search so pray to GOD for guidance and as a lady, pray to GOD that the type of man you desire finds you.
Just as we can see from the scriptures,if GOD ever tells you to marry a certain person then it is most certain that the choice of spouse will be very difficult for you to accept and this is the way you will know that indeed, it is GOD's choice for you
I hope this makes sense.
Yeeeeesss!!! You make an awful lot of sense. From my experience God doesn't really interfere in our choice of partner. It's left for us to make our choice. |

There is absolutely nothing wrong if any man decides to ask God to decide for him in any aspect of his life. Absolutely nothing wrong
I used to have this friend back then when I was in school(he had graduated though). He got a job that was going to pay him six figures back then. He turned it down, telling everyone that God told him not to take it. How God told him, nobody knew
Two years down the line, bros was still jobless. We all blamed him for refusing a juicy offer but oga still insisted that God told him not to take it.
The third year, he got another one that was almost double the salary. Not only that, after six months, oga was shipped to Germany for training and they retained him there till this day.
If he had actually relied on his feelings back then, well, I can't say.....
God is still in the business of deciding for people no matter how good the situation looks, if only you let him I remember asking you to read carefully before making any more comment.. 1 Like |

Your write up doesn't make sense, ask Samson that married whom God did not choose for him, he will educate you better. In everything in life you need Gods direction, either by going to God by ones self or seeking spiritual advice. A Pastor or Prophet with genuine calling will not mislead you. if you fail to involve God, you will definitely regret it. We are human beings, we are not perfect, so it is very possible to choose wrongly. We need God direction 100%.
