Hello house ps a friend of mine wants to apply for a 6 months visiting visa, she has an uncle living in the UK as a citizen. The uncle invited her for a visit this summer. She applied last year and was denial. I just found out she filled a family visa and I was surprised why family visa instead of tourist visa, I asked her if that was what she used the last time, she said yes. Ps I will like to ask which visa type is she surpose to use? I know that family visa is used when u av a very close relative in the UK. Ps house I need your advice if she should continue with the family visa application since she used it in her previous application or switch to normal tourist visa? Ps @Justwise and @ Sewyest and other guru's kindly assist. I await your prompt response house. Thanks

Ps house kindly assist me in my question.

I don’t think your friend was denied because of the family visa category. Nevertheless a family visa is when you have an invite from a family member to visit. A tourist visa does not necessarily requires an invitation. So your friend is right to choice family visit. A family visitor must have a family member in the UK which can be a spouse, siblings, parents, or close and distance relatives. A tourist visitor may or may not have any family member in the UK but must have credible travel history.

Fine so far you have the funds to support it in your bank statement.

I actually applied for the tourist visa for 6 months.. it's been about 21 working days now after my biometrics on the 10th of May. Am still waiting for an email, though I already wrote to TLS yesterday.

Have they replied you? What did they say

Hello people, kindly critique my application.
Planning a personal vacation without the family for my birthday week. Will share my birthday here with my family and travel next day for 7days.
1. Budget is about GBP1350 (hostel + breakfast 104, London pass with oyster card for 6days 199, flight 500, living expenses/shopping etc. 550k)
2. Employed with salary of 390k excluding allowances paid 3ce a year (evidence in my acct & pay advice). Acct balance 800k+; $900 Tbills & fixed deposits of 3m. Stated regular monthly spend is abt 200k considering wife and 2kids. Salary Acct balance should be abt 800k when submitting application.
3. Ties: married with kids, employed + letter from employer, own house
4. Had previous US refusal in 2017 summer and later travelled to SA instead with the family. Also had UK refusal in January 2018 for travel with family during Easter. Refusal says inconsistent credits & swing in my acct went as low a N300 2months to application cos I moved all funds at that time to term deposit since I was expecting some others wt which I applied; even though evidence was provided. I have learnt from this and no other funds has entered my salary acct nor swing gone below 400k December till date.
5. Recently returned from a 5 day travel to SA 2weeks ago.

Kindly advise.

Is ur application a standard one or priority service?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Nobody: 5:29pm On Jun 12, 2018
It's better you go to TLS office, that's how I had to wait for 3 months last year, only to discover that my Visa was approved 10 days after biometrics.

I called their number, from their official visa website and they confirmed that a decision has already been made.. Mehn, on their website they advertised 15 working days lol... I fell for it.. but I have cancelled my flight and will pay more. You can log in to TLS contact, they have Ikeja and VI website, with your registered email and password, then click on Track my application. Cheers

Standard... Priority would have been too expensive as I am travelling with my family.

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Funnygirl1998: 6:13pm On Jun 12, 2018
Please I really need help. I used the old visa website form to fill in my application. However , I mistakenly chose the 6 months Family Visit Visa. Will this affect the decision of my visa , even though it is now considered as a Standard Visit Visa.

Standard... Priority would have been too expensive as I am travelling with my family.

I tried registering to see if I can track but I still can't... I filled my form via visa4uk website so it's not from TLScontact.
I guess I will have to go check tomorrow cos it might have been returned and I will still be waiting without knowing.cos it's already 22 working days. Which is far gone from the stipulated 15 working days...
