When I bought international breweries I subscribed for 3500 units which was less than 3000 naira, 1500+ was allocated to me though I couldn't turn my returned money to cash. With #2000 hunter can still get IPO but it will be through the insurance companies but not Japaul because Japaul will jack the price
Lol @ Japaul will jack the price. grin
What's the minimum qty that should purchased and at what price then?

Did the index loose yesterday?
Bull is dwelling in our midst.
Let this public holidays end first then we will see.

If it comes it will be good for me, but I'm just wondering what will be the driver for any bull right now.

There's often a trigger for a bull, like results, new developments, recovery, etc.

The 4 day bull we saw recently was recovery from 11 straight days bashing. It was expected. Stocks cannot continue to fall forever.

The crazy bull in January was return of FPI's following signs of stability after coming out of recession.

The next bull I'm expecting now is around Q2 results, which is still a bit far away.

For now, I foresee sideways trading for some time.

I wish my thoughts are wrong though, because I'm still substantially in the market.

Yes, I know that. Most of the Q2 results will show July ending.

The bull may show around early July (as it did last year). The wise ones would have sold even before the results come out, depending on your strategy though. The same theory applies to FY results, by the time results are coming out prices are falling.

Yes indeed, in error

I bought that thing in error and it remains in my portfolio till date as a reminder grin grin

My dear so u still can't see that the market is already BULLISH !!
I think the problem is with the fact that most of us are holding up to the uncut and funny belief that the market must move at the pace it did in January before ever we can say or infer that there is truly a BULL in our mist.
This was how it started in December 2017. ...and while some were busy cherry picking from select good coys, others were either busy 'singing bear songs' or engulfed by the many extraneous noise. ...until the January pace-up came.
The market is riding up now (albeit gradually), the underlying fundamentals are very much healthy and yet some are seen it as a ride down or maybe a fake bull.

DIAMOND has gone from less N1.20 to N1.68
FIDELITY has gone from N1.75 to near N2.45
FCMB has gone from less N1.90 to near N2.50
OUR TRANSCORP has gone from N1.15 to over N1.51
ZENITH has gone from less N24 to N28
C&I LEASING has gone from N1.31 to over N1.70
DANGOTE SUGAR has gone from N16.70 to over N20
...to mention just a few.
Yet some are not seen any BULL or even a REVERSAL. ...some are waiting for ZENITH at N3. ...apparently they aren't keeping an eye/tag on the index.
They will keep waiting while a few others are already making money. ...and by the time they'll rush in (probably when they believe they've seen their so-called real/January bull), the wise/smart fellows will now sell to them. ...then they'll begin to lament of buying too high. ...and the circle continues !!

My Sincere advise is; do ur homework well and BUY once it's at a price that presents a good margin of safety from FAIR VALUE and is also in line with ur strategy and goal.
Stop waiting for a January bull. ...the market has different 'ceilings' (pinnacle and bottom) for which it can attain at different times/phases.
That's why the market is peculiarly dynamic in nature.
...and less I forget, I also think it will do some folks a lot of good to study the behaviour of the index and and how the various sectors particularly the NSE 30, BANKING, PENSION and PREMIUM align with/influence that behaviour.

...just a sincere piece of advice.

Regards.

The part in bold is very key to me. So I cannot buy any stocks right now.

That's why we all have different investment styles.

grin Right now, I don't see any stock that meets my margin of safety.

Mind you, margin of safety is a relative concept. If my margin of safety in a regular year is, say 10% less what I deem as fair value, in a pre-election year, I would want that margin of safety to be like 25% or more grin

If I see Zenith at 20 naira, I will start buying, I don't mind averaging down until election is over grin

Are u sure ur really aware of the part in bold ?
Because right this moment, there are some select coys that are even trading at a 50-120% margin of safety from their Fair Values !!
Some (particularly 2 sound coys) are even trading at a discount from their INTRINSIC VALUE (not even FV). ...with B. Grahams Net on Net Principle playing out so well in them. ...the kind of coys that can make a smart fellow some good money !!

So I ask again; are u sure u are really aware of the part in bold ?
I'll advise u open ur eyes real wide. ...otherwise u can keep trading ur plan.
No big deal... as long as u are sticking to ur own strategy.

I wish u well my dear !!

Earlier today I had the privilege to discuss with a few top guns in the NSE and the CEOs of 2 leading brokerage firms.
It looks like we are going to be in for some much better experience in the NSE in a couple of weeks.

Begining from the 18th of June 2018, a few of these changes are expected which the likes of Morgancapital, Meristem, leadcapital, Stanbicibtcstockbrokers to mention but a few are expected to all implement.
I'll concentrate on Morgan 'cause for me, its currently the best i-trading platform.
1st there'll be a re-introduction of the Market Auction period (also known as premarket).

Here are a few highlights;

-1st pre-market/auction period- 9.30am to 10am.
-Likely MM activities(...both from the primary & secondary MM)- 10am to 10.15am.
-Basic market opening period will now be from- 10am to 2.15 pm.
-2nd pre-market/auction period- 2.15 pm to 2.30 pm (with an optional 2 minutes before closure for the MM folks).

Note however that unlike before, only the highest bid, and lowest offer will be shown during the auction periods. ...different bids and offers of same prices will be put up as a block together.

Barring any last minute change, some of these and maybe more will later be made public.

NOTE: This is strictly for informational purpose only.

Regards.

Barring any last minute change, the implementation of the aforementioned post should commence by Tuesday the 19th of June 2018 (since Monday 18th, has been declared as public holiday by the FG)

We're surely gonna be in for some interesting times ahead !!
...we keep watching.

Is Zenith the only stock on NSE ?
Or is it the only stock that did well both in q4 and q1 ?
Nawah! This stock don carry too many passengers (including the faint of heart) that is why it has refused to bounce back since mark-down.
Please don’t wait for Zenith @20 go and wait for SEPLAT @500 or GTB at @30
