Please for some of us that don't have up to this millions and hundreds of thousands, which firm can do 100k? What is FBN's lowest? Thanks

Please forget all figures you see people brandish here.. Just concentrate on how to build yours. Stanbic IBTC, FBN, GTB and Sterling are banks that I know does allows 100k for TB investment. FBN lowest as much as I know is 100k. Good luck

91 days - 10.2%
181 days '- 10.5%
364days '- 11.5%

Thx for the response, since 91 days is 10.2% and 364 days is 11.5% is it not better to do 91 days then renew it after its expires.

No, it's not sir. Quoted rates are per annum. The 10.2% is effectively 2.55% for 91 days ( 1/4 of 10.2%)

Are you saying that you can buy 100k from the primary market, but minimum of 500k from the secondary market?

dejiotus:

No. Customers do not dictate the rate in the secondary market. The bank will tell you the available rates and tenors, and you will pick what you desire (ie the rates and for how many days (tenor)). You can buy any amount you want as long as the amount is available and it is more than the minimum amount allowed by the bank in the secondary market. For example the minimum amount you can buy in the secondary market with Stanbic is 500K.
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nnamz(m): 5:00am On Jun 14, 2018
Please who knows what the minimum for banks are? Most especially First Bank, Stanbic, GTB, and Zenith. Is there a differnet minimum on other days than the Wednesday of the bid?

Park Your Money in Nigeria, a Haven Amid Emerging-Market Mayhem
By Paul Wallace
June 12, 2018, 7:05 AM EDT

Investors looking for a haven amid the rout in emerging markets over the past two months would have found one in Nigeria’s domestic debt.

Naira bonds issued by the government have returned 8.4 percent in dollar terms this year, the most in the Bloomberg Barclays Global EM Local Currency Index, which includes 25 countries from Argentina to Turkey. And it’s the only local-currency debt not to have made losses this quarter.

Nigeria's local bonds have outperformed peers since March

Note: Average total return for government local debt in dollar terms

Franklin Templeton Investments and BlackRock Inc. are among global money managers that are bullish on Nigerian securities, enticed by average yields of 13.4 percent, which, while down from almost 17 percent in August, are still among the highest in the world.

They’re also confident the OPEC member will be able to keep the naira stable, thanks in part to oil prices having climbed around 60 percent in the past year. The naira’s barely budged since a devaluation last year, and held its own as other emerging currencies began to tumble in April. The Abuja-based central bank is keen to keep it that way, at least until February’s elections.

Note that transactions closes by 3pm on working days. Didn't know until I missed today's secondary market. Will have to wait till Tuesday, I pray the long holiday doesn't impact on this small money.
