is there anything Africa is ready for? We are in the 21st century and Africa is not ready for independence, for democracy, for ANYTHING. So, what should happen? They should wipe the continent off the world map?

Nobody is saying Africa will win the world cup, but this defeatist mentality most of you have grown with is sickening and is the reason why Africa will never be ready for anything. A continent filled with cowards that give up and run away at the first sign of struggle will never achieve a thing

Some of you call it realism. I call it cowardice. Failure never killed anyone, but anticipating failure will kill before the failure. This lack of faith in your teams will kill them more than whatever the opposition want to do

Everybody that has already been defeated before the end of this stage is undeserving to be African. Your forefathers would sneer at you all, the cradle of human civilization has been reduced to withering cowards. Losers.
Okay. Let's see how far our brand of bravery takes us.

and who told you it was an error?

de gea himself said he tried to stop it but it was too powerful. gks that are familiar with cr7s shots will tell you the same... they are powerful!!
Sir,De Gea messed up with that shot and real howler from him..If he is not to be blamed then Karius should not be blamed for Gareth Bale powerful shot.

De Gea looked suspicious all through yesterday and not good performance from him.

It was an error uncharacteristic of De Gea. The shot was good, but 99 times out of 100 he saves it comfortably.

Word!!!
It's not just cowardice, it's an abomination, it's degeneration of the grossest type. It's a betrayal of the hopes and expectation of a nation.

What I say now will sound extreme but here it is:if it were war, these negative minded people will have to be shot if not they'd turn traitors and sell us all to the enemy. Throughout history, commanders and great generals have done this because they know how poisonous fear and negativity can be. So even before facing the enemy they cut off all within their own ranks who are double faced.

How can you call yourself a man when even before the battle begins you have surrendered mentally and spiritually to defeat? No believe, no hope, no faith, no resilience, no steel, no fire in their souls!!

Those of us who believe do so with fear and trembling, we make ourselves vulnerable, we are susceptible to disappointment nevertheless amidst our fears, our doubts, we believe the Eagles will soar over the Croatian mountains.

There's nothing more risky and inconvenient than the faith we have in the SE considering the opposition we going to face and the quality of our players we but we cannot surrender to fear. We shall not!!

How long are we going to be optimistic??
For how long are we going to be seen as "potential"? Pele predicted we'd win the World Cup by the 2000s...instead what has happened? The best we've done since the 1990 is the Quarter finals.
The way things are going - 2030 will come and the best we'll still be talking about is quarter final.
Africa has a long way to go before we can be amongst the elite. We first need to have more players making the top 3 for Ballon d orr and of course the usual improve the infrastructure in our leagues, grassroots levels, etc
It's a long journey. It's not meant for sprinters but long distance runners. We will continue to believe until day breaks. This is our long night but dawn will come.

@Safari, well said.

The negativity amongst Nigerians is alarmingly high. Just about the reason why I don't bother opening Super Eagles related news that hit the front page of this forum. Morooons spend the entire day bashing their country's team and they somehow think it's fun. This thread is the only succour for some of us but even here is being gradually invaded by the bitters. Seems they don't intend on giving it a rest until they infect as many people as possible with their negativity. Not gonna happen..

It's because that is the easiest thing to do. It's the path of least resistance. Should Nigeria win Croatia today watch how they'd swing and start saying we'd win the WC.
