if you have seen, tell me

I personally, have not seen an own goal that was saved.

Enyeama was right in front of the ball Yobo shoved in, why e no save am?

I have never seen anyone say that a keeper should have saved an own goal, na you I don see am from first.

You can give this excuse if the keeper dives one way then the ball is diverted another but when the ball is still on the same path then what can I say

In Nigeria, everyone is the coach
Had it been we played 352 and lost....people will still abuse rohr
My only issue is that 433 isn't working for us....ighalo is too isolated and is cut off...
I highly doubt 442 will work either...while ighalo will have a strike partner, ndidi and Mikel (or Mikel and anybody) will really be outplayed in a two man central midfield)
Alas....352 was the best

In my own view,
The problem is not even about the formation but the way he assign players to do their duty and the players are not taking laws into their hand.

Moses and iwobi should have swap position occasionally, if you watch the match Croatia were scared to attack the first goal prompt the croatia team to move forward.

If we to play 4-4-2, the best would be the Diamond mode.

If we to play 4-4-2 , Do you know i would prefer Nacho and simy upfront

Uzoho

Ebuehi.......Balogun.....Ekong......Idowu

.......................Ndidi..........

..............etebo ........mikel

........................iwobi..........

..................nacho/moses(ss)
.................................simy(CF)

Simy can hold up play for Nacho/moses to make some cunny moves.

Or what do you think

Na few of us na. At a point it even looked like it was forbidden for Iwobi to play in the middle.

I over rated Rohr, that man I so poor. His ineptitude is unquantifiable. I dont have no single confidence in him anymore.

Why cant we have Herve Reinard as our coach?

I made this post on the 6th of june and some empty brains were waging war against me but today all them eyes dun clear Lol grin

We are not saying that he was very poor today, he was just average.
He offers nothing going forward as a right back and lacks pace, he was easily outpace on more than two occasions.especially when out of position.
Ebuehi is faster, is a threat going forward and also recovers faster than shehu when out of position.

Ebuehi runs forward but has not made one meaningful cross yet.

“It’s difficult to explain. We talked about it and considering the fact that we trained on it. It’s four goals conceded now from set-piece,” Mikel said in his post-match interview after the game, also referring to goals conceded in friendly defeats to England and Czech Republic.

“We have to keep going to try to improve on set pieces.”

Mikel was also quick to play down talk of his teammates’ inexperience against the star-studded Croatian side.

“I think the young guys did well but we just have to keep going and trying to get better,” he added.

If I am a coach a player will never be my winger if he doesn't know how to cross like them old traditional wingers. I no dey for all this mumu inverted winger ish.

Nothing more dangerous than good crosses. It can even lead to own goal. Ask Morocco.

You right, but i really don't know how decision made when it comes to this rohr technical team.

If you noticed when iwobi was out, how many one two passes or run did you see It was just stale

Fellow Eagulians.

I assure you all - we gonna see a different Eagle at the Mundial. We are able to keep our Tactics away from the Oppositions.

The Oppositions are as confused as the Fans. They don't know what's gonna happen at the Mundial, kinda difficult for the Scouts spying on us to analyze the Team credibly.

Kudos to Rohr, and I'm kinda satisfied with the 2nd Half Display.

“It was a decent first half but maturity was the edge the Croatian team had over the Nigerian team,” Okocha said on SuperSport, where he was a guest analyst, after the game.

“The Super Eagles got done by the movements of the Croatian team in their box. The Super Eagles midfielders were not doing their best both in defending and in attack.

“Eagles didn’t geg the best out of Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses because the manager was trying to accommodate Mikel Obi in the team.

“The manager didn’t earn his money today. We were not a threat in the first half and I was expecting him to play three at the back, five players in the midfield and two strikers to the team a chance to get back into the game.

“It is sad because I know we can do better than this. Of course there is still hope but we have to do it the hard way now.

“These (Croatians) are world class players who know how to win by exploiting little details.”

Okocha also blamed Rohr for deploying Mikel in the creative role.

“We didn’t have a creative player today,” the former Nigeria No.10 added. “Mikel has been a good servant to the national team. His best position is playing in front of the defence. We saw what he did playing for Chelsea where he had a glorious career.

“The most creative player in that team is Alex Iwobi but he was played on the flanks. He (Iwobi) can play on the flanks at Arsenal because they had better players in that role like Mesut Ozil.

“The reason why we lost was because we played our best players out of their positions.

“Playing Mikel in that position didn’t help Moses and Iwobi on the flanks.”

Jay Jay Okocha speaking after the loss.
Mikel was the elephant in the room apparently, but our Lemmon analysts would rather kill Shehu on nairaland.

Shehu tried his best and he can't offer nothing much more than that, he made some good interceptions via leg and head.

Modric noticed shehu wasn't the best for that position so keeps loading the ball down persic wing

You guys should stop this please. Is Perisic not their main winger? were you expecting Modric to send passes elsewhere and not to their main winger who gets to send the ball into the box for their ever tall strikers to feed on?

It's like saying the guy playing 3 was their weakest link, hence the reason Uzoho kept sending goalkicks towards Moses. You play to your strength, As Moses is to Nigeria on the wing was Perisic to Croatia on the wing.

I doubt anyone calling Iwobi is saying he played well. The point is the team is not set up to get the best from the players. Even those criticising Mikel miss the fact the young man needed movement up front to get the best from his passes. We became atrocious as soon as Mikel left the pitch.

Our conservative style is hindering the team.

Finito.

Lol one of the funny moments was this ;

Iheanacho plays better with Iwobi. Their one two pass always yield a result, now iwobi was fielded leaving Achor on the bench, and when Achor finally came on, Iwobi had been subbed off grin

Rohr they promised us would roar in Russia that what he did in the friendlies were concealing his tactics, wow, he finally ROARED!!!! grin

Those talking Simy Nwankwo did not notice that as soon as he came on, our attacking threat filtered away. We looked deadliest when Iheanacho was upfront and he offered movement. On some occassions, pressed the keeper to clear out the ball and kept the defenders uncomfortable with his runs.

How people will kick against mobility upfront baffles me even more than Rohr.

Rohr was atrocious today. Especially that first change of pulling out Iwobi instead of Shehu for Ebuehi. Man. Rohr needs to prove himself if not, we are wasting a fortune on him.

Martz101 over to you.

what is there to say, iwobi can play in the flanks and the middle, but mikel is there, me and you ealry argument was about keeping iwobi on the bench until mikel is tired.

mind you few months before world cup, everyone including you believe mikel is the best person to play the 10 role, many believe mikel absent was the reason why we lost.

Sir what's you point really??

that iwobi should be kept on the bench?? because you have never believe his better than Mikel in the middle.

Like jay jay rightly said he plays in the wing in arsenal and he mustly drift in playing there, iwobi today didn't do that.

By the way, Mikel worked so hard and does not deserve the criticism he is getting. He showed lots of movement to influence the game and was over worked pulling shifts to help press the defenders of Croatia because Ighalo was not capable of doing it.

When your full backs are poor and clueless.,there is nothing your wingers can do.

Shehu a full back that can not open up space to receive pass for crossing is that one a fullback?

Bascovanveli and Goldfish80, you guys are not honest with the truth. Shehu was below par. Even Idowu though not phenomenal improved on his game.

Why did you think Modric kept playing those long balls to his side. They knew Shehu was not just it.
He was caught out of position so many times. Not a single cross from him.

In short he was Echiejile on the right.

How Shehu played 90 minutes baffled me. Croatia was there for the taking but Rohr was too scared to make the right calls.
