Looks like you bought the Chinese version and the seller unlocked your BL to flash the global rom. Everything is ok. Congrats on your new device.
Thanks smiley

I didn't order it myself, I got it through Holuwaxheun..

Got my device today thanks to Holuwaxheun, he was very patient with my continuous and persistent questions.
This is my first xiaomi device and I thought I should use this Redmi 5 plus to test the waters.. It's the 4gb Ram 64gb Rom variant and I'm loving it so far.
The package was shipped on 2nd June and arrived Nigeria last week on the 13th of June but I couldn't pick it up then because of the public holidays. I paid #1,200 at the office before collection.

PS: When I powered the device, it showed "device unlocked" briefly before booting, what does that mean please?
Was it on the 2nd of June that he made the order for you or did you pay earlier than the said date because it takes some days for items to be processed before shipping? Just want to get something clearer cos your delivery date seems fast

Mine was ordered on 2nd June and it's still on the 'Despatched to Overseas' stage. Seems we'd be having to wait a lil bit longer.

mi 8 , OnePlus 6 even OnePlus 5T all look like massive phones to handle . How comfortable are these kinds of phones. ??
the mi 5 size feels so perfect .

Why would they derive joy in jeopardizing their business?

Redmi 5 is what you need. A mini beast of a device.,excellent battery life for a 3300mah. If possible add like 2-3k more to get the 3/32 variant.

This your statement is wrong. Aren't they into business of profit making, why would they want to suffer loss?

I tire ooo, we really should see beyond our frustration of not getting our items on time or never.

When was it despatched over seas? I think it takes 7-10days after despatched to overseas these days. Shipping and delivery was faster 2 weeks ago but it seems to have petered a bit.

I will check for the specs but truly I don't want to exceed the 45k mark.

I have a confession to make. Since I had my R4x and upgraded my MTN SIM to 4G, if I run out of data, I can still browse. Though the browsing is something like 3G. Most times, on heavy sites, pictures don't get to load fully. Not only browsing, WhatsApp, twitter, Gmail app, diamond bank app, Facebook and Facebook messenger work. However, I don't continue this for long because I will have to sub because the loading time for most of these apps can be frustrating. I noticed also, if I am not able to sub on time but do the WhatsApp monthly, it minimise the downside of loading picture properly and quickly. Still can't download stuff.

I have tried this SIM in another phone and get data reset something something. So it's not the SIM. I don't think it is.
I wanna ask who is experiencing same with their redmi or SIM?
ok

What products are you talking about exactly? Either way read reviews before making your purchase from any store as you would be well informed thereafter.

Shipment delivery depends on the carrier you are using, whatever you do as a newbie avoid China small packet as you won't be able to track it down to Nigeria, use tracked carriers like AES, China registered airmail, Postnetherland etc. Usually takes within 4weeks or less if you are lucky.

Yes GTB now allows up to $1000 per month but just hope that your card won't be subject to appeal by alixpress unless your alixpress account is an old one.
