If we had continued building on that 3-5–2 formation the way we ended with Argentina, by now we would have our best XI in that formation. Anything we do now with that formation na experiment. Na World Cup we dey. The truth is we are still testing.

Bolowolowo:
Dropping Ndidi and Iwobi?? Is Rohr Freeking dazed!!!

I like the idea of Simy and Ighalo upfront. Bold call. We are ready for physical duels. I still have my reservations on Echiejile.

Modified
Wait o! Where Ndidi? This na another experiment
what will a short Ighalo be doing upfront against tall Icelandic players?

He couldn't even jump high enough against Croatia, is it the tall Icelanders he will now drag aerial balls with?

Rohr has a 6 ft. 2" Iheanacho on the bench, but Ighalo must start, I wonder which NFF official we should blame for constantly seeing a misfiring Ighalo.

At this point, I wouldn't even mind someone breaking Ighalo's leg if it will ensure I never have to see him start a game in this World Cup

A win for Argentina will only condemn us to win our last two matches. I hope Croatia wins and turn the 2nd position to 3 horse race.

This must be the joke of the century! The formation against Croatia put me off from watching the match. Till now, I have watched only the first 20 mins. If this formation by @ColinUdoh is real then it is quite unfortunate. I am so angry and sad right now cos for the first time in my life I might not be watching a SE world cup match live.
This team held so much promise, so much resources were expended on them yet yet they might be the worse SE team of all ..., ...

Iwobi and Iheanacho upfront may be our best bet. But we should have tested it more in our friendly matches. That chemistry Nigeria had in the 2nd half vs Argentina friendly was flawless. Why did we switch again and never went back to using it?

Certitude:

Just because he isn't playing the formation everyone wants...? Rohr knows better than us all. We can't keep typing formations on keyboard and feel we're better than the coach because he is losing. None of us here met him before he chose to play 3 at the back. I'm not saying the 4-4-2 is the best tho as I would prefer the 3-5-2. But anyone who thinks he is better than the coach should get a coaching licence.
he doesn't know because he is yet to win with any of the other formations he has tried this year

If you are experimenting, and failing and still not changing the formation, you know nothing.

Having a coaching certificate does not make you more knowledgeable than someone who has none. Just like someone with a certificate in Agriculture may not know better than a FARMER. A certificate is a piece of paper, knowledge cannot be limited to a piece of paper.

My formation for tomorrow's game.

Uzoho

Balogun. Ekong. Ogu

Ebuehi. Mikel. Etebo. Idowu

Iwobi. Moses

Ighalo

Iheanacho is far more clinical than Ighalo. I would not start Ogu in defence.

it has been PROVEN, BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT, that Rohr does NOT know better than anybody.

Let us stop excising rubbish with "Rohr knows better".......it is only insanity that will make someone throw away a formation that has worked for you to play a repeatedly failed formation.

What else can I say ? He is the one in charge so I cannot say more than that.

Mind you he qualified us for the World Cup with a 4-3-3 and it will be hard for him to change it most coaches are stubborn.

Concerning the 3-5-2 so because him use am win Argentina una still dey live with that grace abi ?

Which other team him use 3-5-2 win ?

If him use 3-5-2 come loose una go still look for wetin to talk.

Well who wouldn't with what we are seeing now?

I and One other guy were reprimanded on here for the stance that Rohr doesn't know better than most of us here. difference just being that he is at the hottest line of the battle. Glad you hopped on to my wagon...

I'm still not for Mikel starting. We aren't even acting like we have the youngest team.

Ighalo has always played better with a strike partner. He does not play well alone. Maybe combining with Simy can be a positive

he qualified with 4-3-3, against AFRICAN opposition

He progressed to a World Cup where he would be tackling a different style of play, only for him to ignore a formation that was SUCCESSFUL and HAS BEEN more EFFECTIVE whenever it was applied against these European and S/American opposition

Andrew, when you wrote WAEC and qualified for a University, did you continue secondary school topics in the University? Do you notice that the style of reading and passing in the University varies from what obtains in Secondary School? Having noticed this, and found that a new style is more effective, did you stubbornly insist that you must keep up with your secondary school ways because na so you take pass WAEC?

This is the World Cup, it is not AFCON and it is not World Cup Qualifiers. This is the UNIVERSITY, and Rohr is packing carry overs left and right as we speak

That's why I am hoping for victory for the Croats. I think the worst result we will get out of the Argentina's game is a draw. IF we go into the encounter with 3points.

The task ahead of our guys now is how they will win Iceland and at the same time reduce our goal deficit to 0. A win with a goal margin might not be enough cos Iceland will go into the last match to win Croatia (who might have qualified) which is very possible considering that they have done it before. thereby sending us home on goal difference.

We are really in a very tight position.

even when they gave him Iheanacho, we know how many chances he flopped until Kelechi had to pull something special out of the box to rescue him.

We go see how far this one will be. My only happiness here is that at least Simy is tall and may be able to get in headers with his height.

I dunno why the risk keeps being taken.

Osaze and Emenike paired up front at 2014 and Now Ighalo wey never perform reach these two is left alone upfront?

2014 stats

3 goals for
5 goals against
7forwards of which 4were useless taking them to Brazil

2018 stats

0 goals for
2 against
6Forwards of which one has proven to be incapable already having scored no goals in our last 8matches. A world cup bound team would have dropped him asap for younger, better options, instead of "Keeping faith" with him.

looks so familiar

Limp attack power or is it the technical aspect.

I am already tired of them.

I don remove my mind from Super Eagles, I cannot be carrying another person's troubles on my head. I am not the players, I don't know any of them personally. Like I have always said, it is their lives, their careers and their reputations out there. If they are not concerned enough about it to fight in this tournament, why should I be concerned?

Las las, if they crash out, I support Iceland and Senegal. At least those teams have fight and pride in them. They have spirit.

with the 3 5 2, we've been able to play 135minutes of football, scoring 4 goals and conceding ZERO. averaging 1.3goals every 45mins. I hope I've been able to convince you that 3-5-2 is the way to go. Now hop into the train and join us in the clamor.
