You are not alone.

All true Barcelona fans must Stand With Messi though he disappointed us against Iceland and Croatia but he is our legend. He made football worth watching for us since 2005 (when I started watching him), he is the true el-Messiah.

Super Eagles on the other hand has caused me more pains than joy, I rather stick with the one that has been giving me joy even when I'm down.

#IStandWithMessi #GoArgentina #ProudlyBarca

Unpatriotic.

And who made it a rule that in football you MUST support your own Country??Brazilians against Germany Clapped and Supported Shurrle when he scored the 7th Goal.Ronaldinho has been given a standing Oviation for his performance by Madrid fans and Ronaldo was applauded when he scored that goal against Juventus.I could go On and On.This is football. You support Who you think will win regardless of your Country or Club.Doesn't make you less patriotic or a fan.Cheers
It's called the world cup for purpose... Applauding individual or team brilliance doesn't mean you should put them ahead of ur country..
in the world cup, it's your country first, that's true patriotism..

Unpatriotic.
It is not part of our civic responsibility to support sport teams, it is simply a prerogative.

The team of the game is FAIR PLAY and a key attribute of fair play is RESPECT!!! This is sport not war...

You support what gives you joy as there is no compulsion in sport.

Unfortunately, YES! Super Eagles hasn't given me the kind of joy that Messi has been giving me since 2005.

Meanwhile;

Alex of Japan is a Brazilian that played for Japan and played against Brazil in 2006 world cup

Deco is a Brazilian that not only played against Brazil but scored a powerful free kick when both sides met in friendly.

Jerome Boateng played against Ghana in 2010 even against his own biological brother.

Gloria Anozie a sprinter for Nigeria ditched Nigeria to win medals for Spain. It's about what gives one joy.

How much more supporters?

I love Messi more than Super Eagles (not Nigeria) and I want him to win the world cup. He has made me happy for more than a decade unlike Super Eagles that almost gave me high blood pressure in 2002.

You better go back to bed and dream again

Messi winning a world cup is a piper dream

Moreover just cos Super eagles had dissapointed you before doesn't mean they can't make things right this time

Super eagles all the way ( optimistic though)

my guy, I'm a Cristiano Ronaldo fan but we all know what Messi truly is and he doesn't deserve this kind of treatment he is getting on social media. If Nigeria crash out from group stage nobody will say much but should Argentina leave, people will forever use it to talk Messi down. He has done so much to be dragged down like that I pray Argentina seriously beat super eagles that day.

Nigerians are not mature enough to handle victory over Argentina they will surely block the streets of Russia and cause mayhem

I can't believe some people are supporting messi against Nigeria their own country, people are really unbelievable. As if messi sabi or give a bleep about them, I know super eagle winning world cup or moving far in the competition won't add anything to our pocket, but the Joy I felt on that Friday for just winning Iceland and see how people are smiling and everyone is happy, even MTN dash us credit, I think is not so bad if we keep enjoying that happiness once in a while.

Go eagles.
God bless super eagles

I actually don't give a damn about super eagles. You don't play rubbish all your life and expect me to start supporting you because we reside in the same country.

There may not be compulsion per se as a fan but you are definitely unpatriotic. The national team wears the colors of our flag and are heralded into action by our national anthem.

To support another country over your own is highly unpatriotic though you may argue that you have the right to be unpatriotic.
