First, convince yourself why you need a masters in the area of your career interest. Once you are able to do this, convincing a VO won't be a problem.

[quote author=Goldenegg post=68849908]Useful information. Thank you very much.

Greetings guys I urgently need help My study permit has been refused. I have scholarship with Memorial University Newfoundland full tuition+$,7000(for living expenses). I have B.sc and I was admitted to do masters.

SOP: The school immigration officer read and says its OK.

4. personal asset and financial status( I was 21when I applied I turned 22this month)
5.not enough money , without working, to pay 1. tuition fees. 2.transport 3. maintain myself.

I don't wanna say that I regret using online route

But there's no doubt that the paper application seems faster with approvals and denials on both sides.

I hope something better can be done to improve on the processing time of online applications .

When the ones that applied April haven't even gotten an update , make me wey recently apply go sit down be that .
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by noobie: 10:41pm On Jun 26, 2018
Hi guys, so i applied for the Canadian student visa in 2015 and was denied, i ordered for my GCMS but when it came i had this huge project i was working on at that time so i didn't pay much attention to the GCMS note. I am now preparing myself and documents for 2019 fall and i decided to go through my GCMS file again, this time slowly, this was when i realized i was denied the visa in 2015 for a reason i can only conclude is the VO did not go through my documents.

A quick background, just as in the attached documents below this message, I studied ARCHITECTURE for my bachelor's degree and finished in 2013, i started working for my dad's company as a construction coordinator for building projects. After a few projects I realized i didn't have a deep knowledge of onsite construction and i needed to improve myself, so i decided to apply for Masters in CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT. I had 2.96/4.00 so masters wasn't an option, i realized this after a few trials, so i opted for a Post Graduate Certificate in CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT at Conestoga College. My dad was my sponsor and had more than 100 million Naira in his account.

A couple of things to note before reading the VO's reason for refusal.

- I applied online (i intend to make a paper application this time because i feel the VO might have missed my documents or just didn't check it)
- I studied Architecture as an undergraduate, work as a construction coordinator and intend to go to Canada to study Construction Project Management (The link is obvious)
- My dad is sponsoring and i attached his bank statement with which he wrote a 2 page letter detailing how much he had available to sponsor me for my entire study year.
- I wrote a 2 page statement of purpose on why i wanted to study Construction Project Management.
- I am also a shareholder and a member of the board of directors of my father's company along side my brother and mom and i submitted a document to this effect.

Note: i submitted other documents as well.

Now attached below is the VO's reason for refusal.

Please are there any suggestions that could help me present a better application? I will apply in January.

Sorry about the refusal....

When did you apply?

Paper or online?

I would suggest you order for your gcms note inorder to know the detailed reasons for your refusal....

Also, his profile has now changed to we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility...

If he/she has the paper VFS gave you during your application then its fine, you can then write that your friend with ........ identification number will pick your passport, you sign and send to him/her to print (ensure he/she has the identification). Also send an email to vfs with the same attachment. Incase this doesn't answer your question, call vfs and ask them... thank you.

I've been a quiet follower of this thread.I stumbled on it after submitting my study permit application.I must confess some assertions made on this forum made me want to lose confidence in my application and made me leave my fate in the hands of Jehovah as my only Advocate. For instance,a member of this forum stated education loan cannot fly and while another member affirmed that Fixed Deposit Certificates as proof of funds is a no-no.

My Timeline
Paper application at VFS Lekki Lagos.... 18th April,2018
Linked my application online....5th May,2018
Medical Call....8th May,2018
Medical Done.... 9th May 2018
Medical updated as passed on my online account...18th May,2018
Contacted by my school (UBC) to give consent to confirm my acceptance and release my personal details(student number, date of birth, program, program start and end dates, etc) to CIC....8th June 2018....I consented immediately.
My online account started reading Account/Profile Updated..... 21st June 2018
Within minutes,my online account started reading 'New Message' (no longer Account/Profile Updated).... 21st June,2018
Yet and even uptil now my online account was and is still reading 'Your application is in progress','we are reviewing whether you meet eligibility requirements....We are processing your background check' (even after collecting my stamped passport...this shows the website is having issues).Even the 'new message' does not open for me to see the details.
Contacted by VFS to pick up my processed passport at Lekki.....25th June,2018
Visited VFS to pick up my approved TRV/Stamped passport.... 26th June,2018.

To all TRV hopefulls,it will end in praise.Keep on keeping on!!!Now i can sleep very well and plan ahead...What a big relief!!!

Good Morning Mr Frank,

My brother runs a company I work for as the procurement officer, I plan on pursing an Engineering degree in canada, He put my name as one of the directors when he was registering the company so I want to use the company as my ties back home, although its company that does engineering jobs from time to time but hardly ever so I'm not in that department

would this reason for my ties back home suffice? also, would it be a red flag that I'm currently not working as an engineer even though i have a first degree in engineering?

Please, a friend of mine just saw an update on his application that he passed medical whereas he didn't do upfront medical... What does this implies?
Also, his profile has now changed to we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility...
If your friend has applied before, then cic has the medicals, if not, just wait and see if they change it and request for medicals or they give their final decision.... Besides, i think they are having issues with their online platform.

If he/she has the paper VFS gave you during your application then its fine, you can then write that your friend with ........ identification number will pick your passport, you sign and send to him/her to print (ensure he/she has the identification). Also send an email to vfs with the same attachment. Incase this doesn't answer your question, call vfs and ask them... thank you.[/quo

I know of 1 and 2 as my Indian friends mentioned it

Thebushboy:
Hello Fam,

Sorry to go off a lil bit.

My message is for Ontarians. I actually need to know if we have students in Ontario on this forum who understand the process of obtaining a driver's License in Ontario. I am making preparations to obtain the G license at once and I want to know if the following counts

1. International drivers License obtained from FRSC
2. Letter from FRSC stating the number of years the applicant has been driving.

3. Letter from the Nigeria High Commission in Ottawa.

Look forward to a positive contribution

Warm wishes,
