I don't think we lose the game due to tactics. we should stop blaming Rohr and judge the game on it own. no matter the tactics we would have employed, we would have needed players no execute it and some players let us down yesterday.
we had chances to score goals, what tactics do you need for Ighalo to score that chance? what ever tactics Argentina used it was still down to how they utilized it. we had better chances, if Rojo could score, what stopped ighalo from scoring that chance. lastly why was Rojo standing alone inside our box and had the calmness to bury that cross. as players certain things are basic you don't need the coach to tell you to pick each opposing players.

Rohr had two changes to make and did not use any to try to nullify the pressure from the Argentines until it was too late.

The outstretched part of the write up is when trying to judge if it accidental or not. If a player outstretches his arm and an opponent plays the ball, it is taken that the player stretched his arms intentionally to deny the opposition a scoring opportunity.

In this case Rojo's arms were not totally outstretched. He jumped to nod the ball, nodded it and accidentally it hit his hand. Never intentional and purely accidental. No way a penalty.

Finito.

He must not outstrech his arm above his head but he did exactly that. Finito

When you head the ball, the ball still bounces. No debate. It was a clear accident.

E don do make we move on. I wasn’t devastated because I expected it.

Let Rohr remain till 2019. He needs capable assistants that will take over in 2019.

I’m excited about the competition in the SE. hoping Rohr will promote the idea and not make some players feel too comfortable with their place in the team. Let’s say goodbye to Echiejile, Ezenwa and Akpeyi.

Simple point. Overall Contribution was not poor because of the other things he brought. How that turns to a good performance baffles me. I repeat. Nacho was my pick for substitution but Ighalo was not the one to come in. Ebuehi was to come in, Moses pushes front to help with the pace.

Na wa.

What other things did he bring? Combination? Hold up play? Ariel dominance? Shots on target? Chance created?
What are the other things he brought?

I’m mad at him because he did not hit target at least. Anything could still have happened. The Keeper could have saved it, it could have crashed against the bar, or even deflected for a corner.

The miss wasn’t as bad as Yakubu’s

hi everyone hope y'all are doing great won't lie still hurting from yesterday felt really bad this morning but that's football for you. i know we were all feeling bad and i can understand the need to vent but don't be too harsh on the players especially ighalo. odion knows he ffd up and his terrible miss will leave with him for the rest of his career.

special shout out to musa you proved your doubters me included that you are a big game player.

francis well done kept with maturity and calmness beyond your young age sky is your starting point.

omeruo, balogun, ekong et al kudos to you guys mikel did his best wasn't always on form but gave his best and led his troops admirably.

i think rohr should be retained even though i understand and respect some posters opinions that he should go i feel the positives he has brought to our football are alot with addition and discovery of better players i feel he can achieve more but the backroom staff has to be juggle with the addition of young enterprising nigerian coaches to the technical crew. amunike and finidi come to mind. salisu should be permanently posted to the chan eagles.

this current administration of nff led by amaju pinnick should be re-elected but he should play his politics well and paddy up with the sport ministry/fg so they wont cause confusion like the election charade of 2014.

How the Super Eagles were cheated out

Ok, we need your comment on this. First, there was a shirt pulling on Iheanacho, then the leg above knee level, and the hand ball
inside 18 yard box. What do you guys have to say on how the Eagles were cheated??

Bros, I agree with you that Rohr should be retained for a few reasons which I can't enumerate now because I have a meeting in less then 15 mins. However, I will vote to retain him with a proviso to make, at a minimum, the AFCON finals or be fired. Having said that, I was quite disappointed with his team yesterday.

We, like Sweden against Germany, did not have the belief and confidence to take the game to Argentina and we suffered as a result. We needed to press and put the ageing and slow Argentine defense under pressure but instead we brought everyone back to try and protect a 1-1 scoreline. Any team, as Croatia did, that attacks the ageing Argentine defense will expose them to the full.

I congratulated our technical crew after the second half against Iceland. We finally, after playing some nonsense long balls for a game-and-a-half, we utilized the strengths of Musa and Iheanacho, their pace and close ball control, and ran at the Icelandic defense line.

So I was disappointed that we started by lofting high balls against Argentina once again. It was too late and we were too tired, after chasing the ball for over 45 mins, by the time we started running at Argies. And in addition, I had expected the coach to make more changes early in the second half. Players like Etebo, who was having a great game but started getting tired around the 70th minute, should've been subbed out to make room for a fresh leg like John Ogu. I think Ogu may lack Etebo's high workrate but he's as good or even better defensively. Furthermore, I was quite surprised that Rohr didn't think about bringing in Tyroone Ebuehi in place of Idowu to run at the Argies in the second half. If I remember correctly, Ebuehi had a dazzling performance against them during our friendlies.

All in all, I was quite disappointed with Rohr but it's still in our best interest to keep him for now.

O pari

We lost the game the moment Pavon was brought on and Rohr didn't bring on a sub to counter it. Onazi or Joel Obi would've been enough.
Rohr goofed big time tactically. Our midfielders were tired yet he stood there like wood.

Keshi "almost beat Argentina" too but he happened to beat Bosnia who were also rated higher than we were and drew with Iran.
We would've gotten a point if not for his poor decisions yesterday.

Nigeria & Africa Cheated : The Fifa Rule Turkish Referee Broke During Nigeria Vs Argentina
Turkish referee, Cuneyt çakir, broke an important Fifa rule during Nigeria's final Group D match with Argentina on Tuesday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com is reporting.

The 41-year-old insurance agent allowed a key Argentina player Javier Mascherano to remain on the Krestovsky Stadium turf despite blood pouring down his face and the Nigerian players complaining.

Fifa Rules state that any player bleeding from a wound must leave the field of play and he may not return until the referee is satisfied that the bleeding has stopped, and a player is not permitted to wear clothing with blood on it.

The International Football Association Board (IFAB), which determines the Laws of the Game adds : ''any player bleeding leaves the field of play.

''The player may only re-enter on receiving a signal from the referee, who must be satisfied that the bleeding has stopped and there is no blood on the equipment''.

Argentina went through to the knockout stages following their 2-1 win over Nigeria; Lionel Messi, Victor Moses and Marcos Rojo scored for their respective teams.

With five minutes left, na delay tactics sure pass and substitution is one of it.

There was no way we could have lost that match if we bring in Onazi and Joel to defend in the middle and on the flank where they crossed the ball to score. It was so obvious that place was jam parked with many Argentina players.

You saw what Argentina did with the remaining 5 minutes. They wasted time.

Yes, you are very right. They wasted the remaining five minutes. The defeat was avoidable, but we couldn't stop it.

I just feel for Mikel, the man was speechless and was moved to tears. Better days ahead. embarassed

Odubajo looks set to become the Northern Irishman's second signing of summer
Moses Odubajo joined up with Celtic in Austria on Wednesday night - with the Hull City full-back set for talks with Brendan Rodgers about a possible move to Glasgow.

On the day Stuart Armstrong completed his £7million move to Southampton, 24-year-old Odubajo arrived at the club's pre-season training camp with a view to becoming the Irishman's second permanent signing of the transfer window.

A former England Under-20 cap, the Londoner has endured a difficult time through injury over the past two years but hopes to revive his career once his deal with the Championship club expires this weekend.

He started out at Leyton Orient before joining Brentford in 2014 then made a £3.5m move to Hull 12 months later.

He was the first-choice right-back as his new club were promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs in his first season but a serious knee injury sustained soon after put him out of the game.

Despite failing to feature for Hull for fully two seasons, Rodgers believes he could potentially offer competition and cover for Mikael Lustig with discussions now ongoing.
