Your narrative is bereft of one consideration - the fact that Yemi Osinbajo got his nomination on the account of his faith! He was so selected against the backdrop of dissent to a muslim/muslim ticket that some APC bigwigs felt could work against the chances of their party in 2015. That said, it is instructive to maintain that WERE OSINBAJO NOT A CHRISTIAN, HE HADN'T BEEN PICKED AS BUHARI'S RUNNING MATE. Now, the argument is, if the religious consideration was what utmostly got him the job,why does he find it hard to speak up for same? Why is he acting like a lost lamb where he ought to act like the. Biblical Modecai you did reference?

Yemi Osinbajo, professor of law, SAN, is an accomplished professional. Unlike many of our politicians, he has a second address. In other words, outside of government, he can survive, and survive with panache. Before his current position, he was the Attorney-General Lagos State for 8 years. He performed excellently.

Prof. Osibanjo, is also a senior pastor with the RCCG. He was the pastor in-charge at the Banana Island road branch, Ikoyi, Lagos, of the church. As the senior pastor of the church, he was known for his humility, frugality, and godly virtues. Osibanjo, unlike most of his colleagues who will seat in their high offices and delegate evangelism to others, was always on the roads, accompanied by his wife, Dolapo, preaching the gospel of Jesus. He is a self-effacing man!

VP Osinbajo, was not looking for a job when he was nominated by president Buhari as as running mate. President Buhari, on a mission to rescue Nigeria at the time was looking for a partner who is a man of proven integrity and honesty. He found in Osinbajo, the qualities he was looking for. He wasted no time in naming him after meeting him in Abuja. His choice, was a master stroke. Many Nigerians, received the news of his nomination with joy, and pledged their support. Buhari and Osinbajo were elected as president and vice-president of Nigeria under the APC, a party the opposition PDP, and CAN had described as a Muslim party. Some openly expressed their disdain with Osinbajo for accepting to serve under Buhari, a perceived Muslim extremist. They asked: why would Osinbajo a Christian and pastor, agree to serve under a Muslim?

Osinbajo threw himself into the job with dedication. As a senior lawyer, he knows the limits of the powers of his office. He knows he is not the president. He knows that he must remain loyal to the president, and do the jobs given to his office by the president. With a president on his seat, the only thing he can do is to advice the president. He cannot insist that his advice be followed. In the absence of the president, he becomes the Acting president. We are all witnesses to how he brilliantly and efficiently held the office in the absence of the president. He travelled to different parts of the country to reconcile the government with certain parts of the country. He implemented policies that strengthened the naira against the dollars following the positive outcome of his negotiations with the leaders and militant groups in the SS part of the country. He created a pervasive sense of unity, and remained loyal to the president by attributing everything he did to the president.

Osibanjo, is highly trusted by president Buhari. The president is so comfortable with him that he ceded the management of the nation’s economy to him. For a every critical assignment or mission, he is the go-to-man of the president. He has visited many conflict areas on behalf of the president. Many will remember that he is the first to visit and commiserate with communities that has been attacked by the Fulani Herdsmen. After the attacks on some Benue communities leading to egregious deaths and destruction, VP Osinbajo visited the state more than once in a month. He attended the funerals of some of the victims of the attacks, and gave a heartfelt address on that occasion.

Recently, VP Osinbajo, has come under attacks by some pastors and their supporters. Many are questioning why and how he can still claim to be a Christian and pastor, and remain in the government out to eliminate Christians and Christianity. They are calling on him to quit. This is to say the least, uncharitable!

Many of the pastors, making these calls, will not even consider resigning from their positions in their churches no matter how bad things are. They will also, no brook any opposition from any pastor under them. Any pastor under them that holds a contrary view on issues will be removed on the direction of some spirit. This is the truth! The same people are the ones asking Osinbajo to stand up and confront the president. I’m not against Osinbajo confronting the president, or resigning from his position if he thinks there reasons to do so, that is his call to make. I’m against those attacking for not leaving in pursuit of their narrow and selfish objective. VP Osinbajo, is not in government as a pastor. He is there as an administrator whose actions and inaction, are governed by the laws of the country. He took an oath that imposed a duty on him to be fair and just to all, irrespective of their tribes and religion. He is the vice-president of Nigeria, not of the Christians in Nigeria!

If the pastors, believe that Nigeria should be governed by Christians only, they can form a Christian party in Nigeria, and contest elections. This is the situation in some European countries. In 2019, VP Osinbajo, maybe on the ticket with Buhari hopefully, and we have the opportunity to decide his fate.

What many may not have adverted their minds to, is what the situation could have been without the moderating voice and influence of Osibanjo. If Mordecai had been in the palace to counsel Esther, the Jews would have been destroyed from the counsel of Hamman.

Let me conclude this piece by advising the pastors and their supporters to, spare Osinbajo from the needless attacks. The Muslim community is standing solidly behind Buhari, who is the leader, and on whose desk the buck stops. We are tearing at our own. The pastors, should devote their energies in raising up righteous men who will takeover the affairs of the country, and set us on the path to sustainable development. VP Osinbajo is not perfect, only God is!

God bless Nigeria.

All these qualities got missing the very day he commented on twitter against the human right report on the issue of an indiscriminate and brutal slaughter of many Shia Muslims. While the grieving families are asking the FG to return over seven hundred missing members of their religion, Vice President Professor SAN Attorney General Pastor Mr. Yemi Osinbajo twitted "CORRUPTION IS FIGHTING BACK". That very day he lost all the virtues OP described here. He had those before but not now. To be a christian is by sacrificing yourself for the truth and he should be an example to his followers. His virtues are died long time ago the very day he supported massacre.

clarocuzioo:
Oga seriously speaking, this defence is myopic lameless, baseless and simply self serving.
Please stop it, I dont know your interest or what you stand to gain.

First and foremost let me take you down the memory lane a bit.
When the APC party was formed, it had the issue that their first choices of candidate will be Muslim/muslim, knowing well that if they present it to the country, Christians will not be interested in the candidacy and in the party, to clear that notion and to prove to the Christian community that their Intrest is fully represented, Osibanjo was brought forth.
May I remind you that it was not Buhari that sourced for Osibanjo but Tinubu, and as such he is representing the Christian community in the party , and the Nation at large. Buhari had to accept him, of course considering his status as a Professor Of law, as a top Pastor in RCCG which obviously has one of the largest congregation Nationwide, and which other Christian denomination has great respect, regards and understanding with the G. O. RCCG, so simply put , Osibanjo rode on the goodwill of Daddy G. O. to garner Christian votes for this APC led government, and the entire Christian community voted for them with the hope that their interest will be fully and dully represented since politics is all about interest.

This move also seemed to have rubbished the news then that their was an Islamisation agenda.

Yes Osibanjo threw himself into the job no doubts, we saw his charisma in handling the Niger delta militancy and other situations that arose then, but then it also exposed a lot of things then, first and foremost why did Osibanjo not protest when all the security chiefs are from one religion?
Also during that time he held sway, the security chiefs were not attending security meetings called by the V. P.

We also saw when the stupid policy of retiring church founders and G. Os to retire at certain age or after certain years of service, forcing the very man whose goodwill he rode on to retire as the G. O of RCCG.

Yes Buhari will very well be happy with Osibanjo because from the look of things he seems to be more of a puppet than a V. P. which V. P also seems to confirm when he said Buhari treats him like a son, prompting the media to be awash with so many photoshopped pictures of the president baby feeding the V. P.

Osibanjo being under attacks is very normal and natural because the people who believe he is representing their Intrest don't feel safe anymore, with the recent events, it is believed that Christianity in Nigeria is gradually heading for extinction and our collective freedom of worship is being abused and threatened.

Those who are calling for his resignation believe that's the only thing that will prove he is not culpable with the recent calamities being meted to the Christian community and the Nigerian populace at large. It will also help elevate his integrity and image as a pastor and as a professor of law.

On your call for a Christian Christian candidacy, the day Nigeria opts for a Christian/Christian or Muslim/muslim candidacy, know that the end of the entity called Nigeria is near, but the truth is, with the recent unfolding of events, it is fast approaching.

At the end of your write up, I saw principal partner, if you are a principal partner of an organization and you put up this king of lame, myopic, biased and self serving write up, it simple makes one to wonder where this country is heading to, and little wonder things are the way they are in this country ( no offence meant please).

Too many errors and fallacies in your write up which exposed your level of stupidity. It shows education does not erase stupidity.

Osinbajo can not query his boss on appointment. He has no power to do so. He's not the national assembly.

Believing the like that he called on service chiefs and they refused to show up is another myopic thinking.

It was during gej administration that the policy of retiring GOs was enacted.

I couldn't read all your senseless rantings.

There is, indeed, a way that seems right to a man, but the WORD says - the end, thereoff, is destruction. It is the Lord, Himself, that will judge the heart of everyman, whether it be good or bad. Everyone should therefore be conscious of the fact that God knows all the truth and aswell as all the lie. He wiil judge accordingly. That combination has many meanings to it.

One is a northerner while the other is a southerner.

One is a Muslim while the other is a Christian
One is more educated while the other is not.

So tell me why Osinbajo can’t represent the southerners very well in all ramifications.

In what way is he not representing?

Speak up on what issue? You little kids speak on what you know nothing about and wear your ignorance like a badge.

Stop using lies to validate your hatred. You cannot fool anyone but yourself. You hate him because he's from the tribe you love to hate.

Beautiful! What an impeccable reply!

Don't mind the OP, he wants to call a spade what it is not..

OP is just being hyperbolic.

He's paid to do so, I guess.

Bro, if you think the vice president have not perform to your taste, the choice is yours. By virtue of your freedom, you may kindly jump to the Lagoon. Those people who criticized the man have not managed five people throughout their life. We have many of them, who cannot control their family. No matter what, the man deserve respect. Concerning those spiritual fathers criticizing the silent achiever, many of them are just motivational speaker without holy spirit in them. What a competent and brilliancy man found in Osinbajo.

God bless the writer for this beautiful write up,I've said it several times that we christians are the enemy of ourselves. The vice president has his own limit,he can only advice the president when the president is on ground. The vice president yemi osinbajo is trying all is best to make this nation a better one but some selfish and greedy people keep blackmailing the innocent man for nothing but i know they are not powerful than God.We love osinbajo and there is no any amount of propaganda can change that........useless people

Is the concept of resignation alien to you ? That is what Osibanjo can do if his hands are tied.
Osibanjo was selected as VP to Buhari because of his faith. Now members of his faith are under attack and he does nothing. He is not an "innocent man". He is a political office holder with duties and obligations. It is evident that neither you nor him are aware of what these are.
