We do have quite a similar situation here. I submitted via online route on the 19th of April, did my biometrics on the 23rd, my completed biometrics did reflect in my application status. However, no other update since then. It's been 10 weeks of waiting patiently and tirelessly, it's almost like my whole life is on pause mode. Some 10 days ago, I sent a mail to all the available email addresses I got from this section, I was promptly replied by the Kenya and Lagos offices but apparently, my application is being processed in Lagos. I am keen on getting a decision from them, sadly the duration is messing up my other plans. I already secured an admission into a University in Ireland as plan B. I have decided to do my medicals UPFRONT tomorrow which I will have sent to them via e-mail....(I do not know how effective this might be). I will be traveling to the UK in 4 days and subsequently Germany for a series of meetings. I will be away from the country for about 3 weeks. Hopefully if my application is approved, I will submit my passport in any of the Countries I am at. So you see, we are in the same situation. harde116: There seem to be a trend of denied approvals for applicants who are self-sponsoring, this can be frightening sometimes because I certainly did overlook a few things while putting out my application but then again, fingers crossed!.. Also, a major thank you to everyone here for the good job, it is amazing how much I have learnt despite having already submitted my application before frequenting this section. I hope I receive a positive news pretty soon. To those denied applicants, it is never the end . . . just take the lessons and improve on your next application or have some other plans. Best wishes! 5 Likes |

To the bolded above, you can't do upfront medical after you have submitted your application, you can only wait for CIC to request for medical. All the very best don2207: |

I remember you sent a few emails my way earlier in the year but I couldn't help as promised -- been unbelievably busy this year. But I am very happy to hear that your well put-together application (I went through the files you sent me) scaled through. Phocusjosh: |

whiteFOX:Your parents can serve as home tie. The main thing is give the vo a genuine reason it reasons why you will return back to Nigeriaafter your studies..... it might be cos of family properties you will inherit after studies in naija, it might be job prospects in naija, etc. Just give genuine reasons why you will return to Nigeria after your studies(cos as a foreign student you are suppose to leave Canada after studies) |

Jhammz519: With your VISA in hand, you've already jumped over the highest and hardest of hurdles, Sir. Just do not forget to have all the relevant documents in hand (Admission letter, LOI, Payment of fees receipt, etc). You will only be asked the simplest of questions you could easily answer in your sleep (Eg: What program are you going for? How many years? etc). In fact, you might not be asked anything at all. Best wishes in your travel to, and your studies in Canada. Cheers 5 Likes 1 Share |

This is a sample I sent to them after 15 weeks of no update, I got approved after they responded to it. I also attached my medical request letter, biometric collection letter and submission confirmation. Dear Visa Officer, I, my name, with Nigerian passport number *******, a principal applicant for Canadian study permit submitted my application online on 12th of March 2018, completed my Biometrics at Lagos Visa Application Centres (VAC) on 16th of March 2018, I received an update to complete Medical Examinations May 1, 2018, completed my Medical Examination at The Children's Practice and the Consultants Practice, Lagos on May 3, 2018 and it was updated on the 6th of May 2018. After my medical, I am yet to get feedback as regards my application. Currently the Canadian Study Permit Application Processing Times is 9 weeks for Nigerian Applicants, and this is the 15th week I submitted my application. Please let me know if you need any other details or if you have any questions. I look forward to a favorable response from your reputable office. Thank you. Best regards! ( blaqnony: 7 Likes |

goingforward: The VO might not notice because they pay more attention to the transactions than the page numbers. However, if he/she notices, worst is they will request a new bank statement of account. 1 Like |
