Don't be naive. The administrtion did not say it is exclusively for individuals undergoing trials. It said any suspected looter. In other words they accosted power to themselves to block any body's account all they have to do is brand the person a looter. Isn't that tyranny?

Besides buhari is not a judge neither is he the senate, by blocking peoples acount he is already predeterming the case that the suspects are guilty. What if after the case they are innocent what then? Will the government pay compensation? After denying an individual access to his money for a period of time. Is it fair? May we all be guided by our common sense as we aspire for our countries greatness.

i commend the effort of the president in the fight against corruption. It is a good decision by the president to sell the seized properties from the looters of this Nation. he first seized this properties, they were returned back to the owners when he stepped down. i appreciate the fact that he has decided to sell them and put the money realized from the sale into the national purse. By so doing, Even when he step down as the Nigerian president, no one will be able to go to the treasury to refund money to the looters. this will go a long way in growing the Nigeria Economy

Law and due process is everything in a democracy

The starting point here is does the president have the power to enact "Executive orders"s if he does does this power have limits?

Can he sign an executive order suspending the National Assembly?
Can he sign an executive order suspending the courts.

Without dwelling on this parrticular order one should focus on the power to sign ANY executive order AT ALL and where, in law , those powers come from and the limits of such powers.


Can he sign an executivve order extending his tenure by another 4 years without election e.g?

My interpretaton of this particular order is that it performs a LEGISLATIVE function i.e it is making a new law without recourse to the National Assembly and in doing so appropriates JUDICIAL powers to the executive.

To my mind it is not only unconstitutional it is impeachable on the grounds that it is a gross violation of the constitution
