We citizen of ekiti would go to poll on saturday to elect a new governor. I would like everyone of us to state a candidate we support and why you support such candidate ?

For me i would be supporting the candidancy of dr kayode fayemi and here are my reasons.

Free health care for the young,old and pregnant citizen.

Free education for student.

Provision of learning material for student.

Rehabiliation of infrastruction

Timely provision of safe and clean water and so on

Fulani may be in ekiti but fayose has kept them at bay. Fayemi will allow them graze freely on our crops.

ekiti people have an option between two evils, a lesser evil & greater evil...


notwithstanding, I think eleka has the edge...

1. he is from ekiti south, zone that has never produced governor. so expect a lot of sympathy votes from there, especially Ikere;

2. fayose's support base & by extension, eleka's is from the 'streets'... drivers, artisans, okada riders etc. some might call them the 'dregs' of society, but these are the people that will go out to vote & are ready to defend those votes. fayemi's votes come from the mid to upper class, people who would rather stay in their homes & avoid 'had I known';


3. eleka's running mate is a youth with Muslim connections... its a strong point for youths & Muslims in the state to get behind PDP;


4. eleka is gunning for a first term, all things being equal, he will want a second, so it would be easier for the people to hold him accountable than for fayemi who knows he would have nothing to prove since he can't go for a 3rd term;


5. eleka, despite being fayose's stooge, has a completely different demeanor to his 'godfather'. most people hope he carries this into governance & become the 'fashola or ambode of ekiti', people who rode on the coattails of godfathers to become their own men;


6. it is envisaged that fayose will be too busy running helter skelter from the expected fg assault on expiration of his tenure to bother eleka that much;

7. eleka might be PDP, but he is seem as different, if he wins & fayose keeps his trap shut, even APC apologist can live with eleka & give him benefit of doubt. if fayemi wins, his vindictiveness & use of federal might would cause unrest in the state;


these are some reasons I think eleka has an edge.


at the end of the day, let peace reign, whoever emerges.
