moneygame: If you have spent months, or even years, trying to get pregnant, you are not alone. Although over 90% of women will be able to conceive a child within eighteen months after beginning trying to get pregnant, there are still many women who cannot. For that last 10%, trying to get pregnant becomes a hassle and a chore instead of the joyful hope that it once was. Each month seems to pass slowly, and every time your period starts again you feel like crying. If you have found yourself in this position after an extended period of trying to get pregnant, be kind to yourself. This is not your fault.
Chances are that you are already aware of the options available to you for assistance while trying to get pregnant. You know that you can try longer, attempt fertility treatments, etc. Most likely you have already chosen one of these paths. Maybe you are undergoing infertility treatments now, or maybe you have given yourself a “deadline” for beginning these treatments.
You know what you plan to do next, so why not focus on the day-to-day things? Time will pass and things will happen, but you won’t be any happier if you live month-to-month, waiting for only one special event to happen so that you can enjoy life.
Have you been trying to get pregnant so long that your life has lost its luster? Make the decision now to take steps in the other direction. Reclaim yourself while you are trying to get pregnant. Remember that you are here and life is good, no matter what kinds of hopes and dreams you have for the future.
Is there a hobby that you have abandoned since you have been trying to get pregnant? Did you used to read more books or magazines, sing in a local choir, grow an awesome strawberry patch in your yard? Take a moment to think about what used to bring you joy. Now make a concrete step for yourself to take this week to bring some of that joy back while you are trying to get pregnant.
If you used to read a lot of novels, promise yourself that you will go the library one day this week and check out a book that you know you will enjoy. And then read the book! Consider also the simple pleasures that are all around you. These daily pleasures are available whether you are trying to get pregnant or not. They are yours for the taking, so enjoy them. Some simple pleasures include taking a bath, watching people, serving dinner on the nice plates even if there are no guests, noticing the small changes in the weather, and spending time with friends. Make a goal to notice and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Don’t let them slip by while you are trying to get pregnant.

Mama, please throw that drug in the bin abeg you. That drug will give fake crazy pregnancy symptoms like tender boobs fatigue most epcially FAT. Please throw it away now now now. It is a very usless drug that increased my boobs and give fat that am till trying to loose it. Abeg that drug ia useless if you Google well there's a web page where many women who had the same symptoms were complaining. Ita a load of crap i tell you. If i had seen it earlier i ont have taken it.
Now am advising other mamas to take note. I understand that it didn't work for you, but you shouldn't condemn the supplement entirely because what worked for someone may not work for another and vice versa. For instance, Fertilsan M didn't work for us. It doesn't now mean it's bad and I'll start condemning it because countless people have got pregnant while on it. Meanwhile, God just granted a friend conception while on Pregnacare Conception. And countless others. 6 Likes |

GraceOverflow: Hello great women and men. I am glad to have found this thread, hope I am welcome. Hmmm, my ttc story?
Got married 2 years ago but dh and I were in different countries in the first year (but you know na, they will count it for me regardless). We started trying in September 2017 and to be honest, we have not done much in terms of test or any procedures. DH believes "it's fine" but I beginning to think there should be things to do. Any one in the USA, please advise what steps I can take and best (most affordable) way to go. Thanks. Hi. Not TTC but I stop by here to read and learn. I live in the states tho. First off, do you have insurance? If yes, what kind? If it’s PPO (regardless of the company) I will suggest you read reviews online, ask questions from people living around you and chose an OBGYN. Call their office and ask questions and possibly make an appointment to go in and see an OB If it’s EPO, HMO or Medicaid, you will need to go through a PCP (Primary Care Physician) or your insurance can refer you to one. But you have to have someone refer you. Let me warn you though, most insurance plans do not cover fertility treatments or fertility speacialists. If you do see one or need one, it might be an out of pocket cost. I had an HSG done in 2015 before I got pregnant with my son (overzealousness cos I had just been trying for 4-5 months I believe). The medical assistants told me it was covered when I’m actually fact it wasn’t. lol my story short, I had the pay about $2,400 out of pocket because I didn’t want them to turn it over into collections and get on my credit record. Last, I will suggest you start tracking your cycle and ovulating. I use OPKs and I also temp. Temping is very accurate for me. I know exactly when I ovulate and how to time baby dance. There’s a ton of resources online about it but yes u have to take time and read it and understand as it can get very confusing. Get a basal temperature online on amazon or at Walmart. You got mine for $6 at Walmart I believe. You can also get it at Target, CVS, RiteAid and Walgreens. Pretty much all the drugstores. Get those cheap OPKs on amazon. I usually get the 50 pack. It’s like $18 or so on amazon. It might even be cheaper on eBay. Combining both gets me on top of my cycle and I understand to a T. You might also need really download some tracking by apps. I especially like Kindara because the charts on there look great and it also has its own community built into the app where you can post your chart and ask questions, and also Fertility Friend because of the smart predictions. Someone also mentioned SMEP. I can testify to it’s efficacy. 100%. Read up in it and try it. SMEP works in conjunction with OPKs tho. I use SMEP, OPK and BBT charting. Sounds like a lot of work but not really. I just like the be in charge and in the know. Relax, may it go well for you. Feel free to ask more questions as needed. 5 Likes |

Hi dear, you’re welcome. You’ve been trying for less than a year so most gynea/reproductive endocrinologists will still say you should try for at least a year before starting investigation. If you’re above 35 though, you can go see your doc now. Frm what I know, you’ll have to see your family doc who would refer you to a fertility specialist. If you have insurance from work or the government, that should suffice. Can’t exactly tell you about the fees cos it’s free where I’m at( government funded). You can check on babycenter.com make sure it’s the .com so you will be discussing with women in the USA. They can give you specific info like prices, clinics of best choice etc.
In the mean time, just chart your cycles, and have times intercourse. Infact, follow SMEP plan http://spermmeetseggplan.com/smep-step-by-step/
Baby dust
Wishing you a short and fruitful stay Thank you so much. Checked out the SMEP plan and it looks interesting...would be sure to try it out. |
