It's a Good idea.

The phone number u use in the registration is the phone number u will use in voting.
And once you send ur vote ur sim card will be deactivated from sending another message to INEC.

This option will work if they put mind to it.

The solution to our problems has to be home grown and comes from our very own. If voting by SMS will eradicate rigging and malpractices, so be it.

What about the population of registered voters without phones or phone numbers.Should they be disenfranchised or what?This method could make financial inducement for votes even easier because transactions could be done either online or offline out of the watch of security agents.As political aspirants and their agents do their grassroot mobilization and electioneering campaign they could easily collect or harvest voters' phone numbers to seek for their votes illegally.Successful synchronization or harmonization of BVN,population census,INEC,telephone subscribers' data to form national data bank is the way to go.

What nonsense. People can spoof or clone sims, hackers can crash phone networks, criminals regularly spoof sms messages. The sms platforms are run by third party profit driven businesses, not government bodies. Uncommon folly from the twitter senator.
