She’s due for this honour. A master storyteller. (Feminists go talk say mistress storyteller).

I hope she wins. I don’t share most of her views on gender equality but that does not take away from the fact that she is an outstanding author.

Wole soyinka won Nobel but no Nigeria talk more of African regonized him and his work. even at death Chinua Achebe is still d father of African literature and chimamada is now taking over from him. Chimua Achebe was a lecturer in Boston university in USA prior to his death.
Now tell me wat has wole achieved, even his kinsmen don't know any of his book .

Shoe get size abeg

I am neither Yoruba nor Igbo but you are very very silly for this comment. Wole Soyinka? The first African to win the Nobel Prize, you mean? Or another Wole?

If you don't know, don't talk! Your comment, far from being ethnocentric, is actually marred with crass ignorance, crude illogicality and devoid of commonsense.

Achebe is regarded as the father of African Literature because of the role of his novels in the emergence of serious African literature but Wole Soyinka is by far the most prolific writer of his generation. Achebe and Soyinka do not even write in the same genres of literature. Soyinka is a master playwright and poet whereas Achebe is a master storyteller.

Soyinka has taught in more than 50 universities, both local and international, in his active career. Soyinka is ferocious and has confronted political tyranny and dictatorships. His plays are known, the world over, beginning from the early ones such as Death and the King's Horseman which mirrors human nature through Yoruba mythology, to The Beatification of Area Boy where military rule is engaged with satiric ferocity.

Say what you want but never never ever in your life try to undermine Wole Soyinka just because you think you are a tribal bigot. Achebe was a great man who won various awards and honors in his life but he certainly didn't win the Nobel Prize for reasons best known to the Nobel Committee. Do not use hide under Igbocentrism to make careless statements especially as far as literature is concerned. It wasn't Soyinka who stood in Achebe's way to the Nobel Laureate. Both of them were good friends.

Adulate Achebe all you want but never try to undermine Soyinka.

Above all, cease and desist from petty tribalism! Thank you.

Nothing short of expectations. cool

If you guys don't do stuffs like this, Nigeria will not be complete. It has, unfortunately, become an overarching identity.

Everything in Nigeria is now based on ethnotribal sentiment.

Some people need a reorientation of heart. Wole soyinka and adiechie...
