My simple advise is that you use the paper route because 'what will be will always be' regardless of the type of application method chosen. There is so much delay on the online route which does not guarantee TRV approval at the end. So traumatising, Imagine someone whose application was tied down for 12 weeks without a medical call and the outcome was refusal. Mine was delayed for 9 weeks, If i didn't send messages across who knows, could have been 12 weeks as well. Paper route refusal messages are always sent within a month, we have seen cases on this forum where applicants get TRV refusal messages in 2-3 weeks after application submission, at least such applicant has ample time to request for his/her GCMS note before reapplying in the next one or two months.

Also, using Paper route your forms will be thoroughly vetted by VFS attendants to ensure all I's and T's are properly dotted and crossed. You can visit VFS office and submit same day provided you get early enough.

I hope this helps.

I agreed with u grin

There is no hard and fast room in both the online and offline application. Non is predictable until you have your approval. We have seen online applications that didn't take up to 4 weeks to get a refusal here. Nothing is cast on a stone. Just do your application, putting the right documents and continue to pray until it is approved.
blaqnony,

You don't expect me to start exchanging words with you or to justify my claims. The simple fact remains that paper route applications are predictable. Quote me anywhere Sir/Ma.
You seem to know very well, how many online applications have you seen so far that was rejected within a month?? I don't condone blind argument, I deal on facts. Above all, there are no best route, in as much as people get approved in both routes.

Hello guru in the house,

My TRV study permit online application was refused this evening after 12 weeks of submission. Am weak, I don't know what to do next. And classes resume on 5th of September..

Family tie what family tie should I input am not married and my dad doesn't have landed property, he only has a company.. my course of study doesn't go in line with his business or Should I say I will come back home to take over his business while my course of study is not in line with business? Which other family ties should I use.

Purpose of visit. I don't really have idea about it.. please guru in the House should help me out abeg! Am confuse.. cry cry

If I should reapply should I use the same SOA I used during my first application or I should another one? Am saying this because SOA was not part of the reasons I was denied.

This is true ooo.

The expert in canada trv application has spoken. We will some start issuing certification to some of our gurus.

Frankrobbn1:

Biakwa,

The moniker that was rejected is an online applicant. From recent findings, it happens to be that paper route applications seems faster to online route, which makes it easier for an applicant to know the fate of their application and as well quickly refire once refused. Paper route applications doesn't waste time in calling for medicals once an applicant has successfully submitted their application, this usually takes place 2-5 weeks after application submission. More so, Paper route applications are very fast in dishing out refusals, within the space of 3-4 weeks. Paper route takes a longer time on review of eligibility which can last for about 2-8weeks after medicals has been called and updated as PASSED.
On the other hand, online applications appears very slow, and once review of eligibility starts it doesn't take much time for a decision to be made by the Visa officer, this happens within the space of 3hrs-48hrs. Finally, online applications are unpredictable due to the slow rate of processing. An applicant might stay up-to 10-12weeks and above in online route and still get a refusal. But such is very rare on paper route application.

The above are the recent happenings for Nigerian applicants study permit application both online and paper route.

For more information now paper route now days book appointment and it takes 3 weeks appointment b4 they ask you to come back for summittion

You can have it done same day when you arrive early enough. When i submitted mine i arrived as early as 5:30AM, was number 3 on the queue and submitted same day without previous appointment. 'No guts no glory' if Chevron invited for a job interview at 5:30AM, i strongly believe you could make it before the appointment.

I cannot dispute your claim dear friend... I only shared my experience cos i think it might encourage someone out there who is willing to take the bull by the horn rather than dwelling on hear say. Before i visited VFS, i read here that many booked appointment but very few submitted same day without prior appointment. I resolute to submit same day and succeeded but I met people who came just to book appointment and regretted not bringing their documents along as the there was no huge crowd. As i said earlier 'No guts no Glory'.

You already exchanged words while claiming that my argument is blind. I won't join urther issue with you on this. But I will say it for the umpteenth time, there is no hard and fast rule for determining which one is better. We have seen paper applications denied several weeks after application. We have also seen online applications denied with 3 weeks. So, you can continue to deal on 'facts'.

That was harsh and could spark up baseless arguments / exchange of words. I suppose he/she wrote from personal experience and i don't see anything wrong with that. You can correct someone by making your points politely. We are here to stretch a helping hand to another cos no one knows it all.

Hi guys, final checks please.

Please kindly assist on the documents that "may" be required at the point of entry. Just to be sure nothing is left behind, just like i didn't know there was anything like correspondence letter. Thank you

harde116,

You're required to have your acceptance letter, tuition fee receipt (If any), the correspondence letter, international passport , Sponsor bank statements ( they hardly request for this) but go with it.

You will be asked questions like :
Is this your first time in Canada?
What is your purpose of visit in Canada?
You came with some money with you? Etc....

After this, the immigration officer will then issue you your study permit on your passport. You will also be directed to a counter where you will get your SIN (SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER), which permits you to work 20hours per week during school sessions and full-time during scheduled breaks in the academic calendar predominantly during the summer and winter breaks.

All the best!

I had a 2:1 but I still opted for PGC cause masters admission for fall already closed by the time I made up my mind to try Canada.
Hey bro,

I presume your Undergraduate program in the UK lasted for 3yr with 180ECTS ?

You said Masters admissions have closed by the time you made up your mind, but have you seen anyone be it from the UK or other EU countries that gained admission in Canada with the 3yr degree certificate ?

Many Canadian Universities required 4yr degree program or its equivalent to be considered for Masters admission. Do you know if the European 3yr degree equivalents to what required by the Canadian Universities?

Good evening everyone, I recently applied for a canadian visa through the paper route and I got a refusal letter yesterday. Here are the documents I submitted:

S.O.P letter
Sponsor's Bank Statements (Containing £15,000 or 7,000,000 naira) i.e Sponsor is based in the UK.
WAEC and GCE Result
Admission letter
Reciept of tuition for a term.
Sponsor's Property Documents
Letter of Introduction from Sponsor
Sworn Affidavit attested to by a NOTARY Public clearly stating the relationship of sponsor to applicant, occupation of sponsor, marital status, number of dependents (He has none).
Passport.
Resume.
Police clearance certificate.
Photocopies of birth certificate or Age declaration in the absence of a birth certificate.
Sponsor's ID-card and Passport datapage copy.
Consent Letter from mum (As I am under 18 and would be 18 August).

That's all I can remember, I am meant to resume on the 4th of September at Holland college. So what do i do now? Can i still reapply against September and If so how can I make sure I tackle every reason for denial.

Thanks so much.

Used an agent before but now I am willing to do it myself, but I need your help and contributions. Please Help a girl out!

P.S: The letter of refusal that I was given yesterday is attached to this message. Thanks again in advance!
