emeka27: Hello house... I applied for a Study Permit via paper route on June 26th and received the refusal letter on July 24th. The reasons for denial was Purpose of Visit, Family Ties and Financial Status. I got to find out about this thread not long ago. I studied Project Management, have worked as a Project Manager for over 7years and got admitted for M.Ent (Master of Entrepreneurship). These where the documents I used for the application:
School Admission Letters Term Tuition Payment Receipts SOP 1year SOA (Inflow 34m; Outflow 28m; Closing Bal. N5.1m) Employment Letters (Old & New) 6 months Payslips Birth Certificates of myself & siblings Sponsor's CAC Docs (Sponsor was my place of work) Sponsor's 6 months SOA (Inflow 82m; Outflow 75m; Closing Bal. 4.5m) Bank Reference Letter Police Clearance Sworn Affidavit/Board Resolution by Sponsor
Though i am yet to order for my GCMS notes as I am still trying to pull myself together but I am having a feeling my financial status is the major reason i was refused TRV.
Please i wish to ask, is it okay if i re-apply to another school in Canada? Do you guys think it would be an issue to a VO if the school of admission in my 1st TRV application is different from the school in my 2nd application??
Please i'd like your thoughts on this. Thanks guys.
I dunno much but I feel mba would be better Over to the Ogas in the house 1 Like |

Sorry for your denial. I don't think it is an issue if you get admission to a different School. Although other guys in the house should also have their say too. Meanwhile, I don't think the problem for your denial was financial status, you simply have good sum of money as closing balance and your sponsor's SOA is also in good shape. I strongly believe that the reason is the reasonability of your intended program. That is the existence of carrier progression between your first degree, work experience and the intended study. I think u should apply for your GCMS notes to get the actyrrason for refusal. 1 Like |

Bertram87: Good morning guys... I have being a silent reader and I would say thanks to @Frankrobbn1 for his help so far God bless you.
I will share my story and I would like to hear from other GURUS in the house before I reapply....I applied paper route April the 23rd before I found this platform, My application got denied May the 11th and the VO ticked purpose of visit, travel history, personal asset and financial status as the reasons for the denial. I have a Btech in Agricultural Engineering and I got an admission at Conestoga college to study Community and Social Service Management ( 1 year post graduate certificate). I have been working in my Dads NGO for 3 years as a program officer, and my intended course is directly related to my work. I have ordered for my gcms note I will attach it below.
Documents I submitted....
-S.O.P letter -Sponsor's Bank Statement with 16Million balance. Sponsor is my cousin we share the same surname, and I proved our relationship. -WAEC and NECO Result -Admission letter -Reciept of tuition part payment as directed by my school. -Sponsor's Property Documents -Sponsors Sworn Affidavit attested to by a NOTARY Public clearly stating the relationship of sponsor to applicant, occupation of sponsor, marital status, number of dependents (He has 2). -Sponsors passport data page
-My resume. -Photocopies Age declaration in the absence of a birth certificate. -Identification of my parent and all my siblings. -Documents of a Landed property in my name. -My bank statement with around 100k balance, I had another personal account with around 1.6Million, but was advice by some devil not to include it, that my sponsors account alone has done justice. -A travel history to South Africa.
TBH I am still nursing the heart break because I am supposed to resume September the 4th. But I believe things don’t just happen, they are made to happen for some unseen reasons... To the GURUS in the house, please help your boy. God bless...
Na wa for these people oh. Exactly the same wordings, word to word, verbatim, that I read from someone else’s GCMS. Everything is just generic I am beginning to conclude, even GCMS notes are just generic. Damn!! You can totally tackle this with a sound SOP. 1. Show them why they should believe why if the privilege of a permit is extended to you, you would study. Talk about your academic background and how you have excelled in your studies before. Talk about your love for learning and the value that you attach to the intrinsic worth of ideas. In essence, show why you are a genuine student and applying in good faith to study. 2. Talk about why you have decided to spend all these money when it’s available cheaply in Nigeria. Perhaps a foreign degree will give access to an international exposure and the experience you gather there would make you a force to be reckoned with when you return to Nigeria? Talk about your financial prospect upon return and the benefits of a foreign education peculiar to your circumstance. 3. Admit that there are difficulties to a foreign education. Justify why it is warranted in your case. Perhaps you are studying in an area that would bring skill and expertise to a region of the world in dire need of the skills you are bringing? The difficulties of a foreign education would seem warranted if you are studying in an area that would change lives in Nigeria. Talk about the uniqueness of your program and It’s benefit to the country and how it would change lives in Nigeria. Talk about the sacrifices you have made it in the past to surmount difficulties and how you can prevail in an international setting. 4. Family and ties and all. Talk about your close knit and loving family, perhaps you are the first child and that comes in Nigeria with a lot of responsibilities tied to both place and inheritance wise. Perhaps you are a dotting husband/wife/ and family left behind will induce your return for sure back to Nigeria. So much more you can say. Good luck! 12 Likes 3 Shares |

They are not going to reply to you. But it doesn’t mean if you taken upfront medicals and you passed, but your profile still not relflecting after many weeks, you should keep mute. You can send them an email to change your profile reflecting your passed medicals. They will reflect that without necessary writing back. |

litterbug: Pls house help its urgent.
Hi @Litterbug, have you submitted yours already? I think I responded some time ago when you asked this and said that from the questionnaire you filled at the beginning you would have been asked if a child is accompanying you, It is at that point that you state whether you are applying for visitor study visas for them. Once you tick either of these two then upon submitting this questionnaire it would automatically create a profile for them in your own application where you would be asked to fill their own forms, all in your own application. ( a family application). Did you see this option while you filled the online application questionnaire? The answers you have filled would and submitted will determine the application forms specific to the questions you have answered as per how many people will be accompanying you to Canada. The questions further even askes whether you would be applying for visitor study for them. Your answer to this determines whether you will see a study application form which you will fill or a visit application form. These forms are generated once you have answered all the questions in the questionnaire and clicked submit. The aim here is that people apply for different purposes, study or visit or work permit, with spouse, with or without children etc. So the goal is for you to have the specific forms that apply to your application hence the need for you to fill the questionnaire first. So if you tick two people or two children, then the form generates two additional forms for the two family members. ( whether it's your spouse or children as many as you have ticked). All this must have been done at the very beginning. Filling this questionnaire is the first step of your online application.

To concur the financial aspect, check your tuition for 1 year plus $10,000 cad living expenses plus maybe $3000 to $5000 CAD and the closing balance for you and your sponsor should be in your account for more than 3 months. Okay.. Thank you so much for the response. But do you think changing schools in my next application would matter to the VO?
