The reason, many of our players fail trials is poor fundamentals at the developmental stage.

Many of these foreign born players are not more talented, they just have better foundation. That is what matters at professional level. Many of our players have to start learning again when they go abroad.

The reason why France can use a bunch of African descent players to win the WC is because they provide them with good foundation.

We need to improve youth structure and especially coaching for kids from a very young age. The under 15 coaches should be given top quality training to measure up with their counterparts abroad.

I personally feel that teams such as the U13/U15 need to have younger coaches looking after them. Younger coaches will be more willing to not only develop the players but also develop themselves as coaches. More willing to learn up to date training practices and programmes. Where are the next genration of coaches of Nigerian decent (coaches in their 20s and 30s)? This is another issue I think the NFF need to address

It is not just about the age, it is about the knowledge.

A player like Finidi has been coaching in the academies of good clubs. He should be drafted to manage the young teams if possible. Finidi would be a great addition.

I don't know why you're calling it failing but clubs know what they want. A number of players have not been signed after trials but there have been guys like Azango and Moses Ebiye who got picked up by European clubs after trials just last season.
We have U17 guys signing in Europe every day so I can't agree with your assessment.

Well maybe he can run assistant for Manu Garba. Him being a great player should not automatically mean he gets a coaching gig.

Many European clubs are more open to youth players because they are more receptive to learning and relearning. They usually stay a few years in the academy before they are ready for first team action. Taiwo Awoniyi had to go through a process of unlearning and learning new things.

There are successful trials but there are many more unsuccessful ones and it is often due to a lack of fundamentals. And these are not even the top level leagues.

The way we learn football, we tend to hold on to the ball much longer that the average European with sometimes unproductive flair.

. Exactly. This is indeed a major problem. We have so many selfish players seeking personal glory and little playmakers who work for the sake of the team.

He has the experience to lead by himself

He has worked as the youth coach of Mallorca and before that, FC Zwolle in Holland. He understands our structures work in more developed climes.

He is qualified, maybe even more than Manu.

Lol no way. He's probably more qualified than Manu Garba. Also remember assistant coaches for age grade teams don't even earn any basic salary, reportedly

Isaac Success's rating as a second half sub for Watford in the preseason game against Stevenage ;

Isaac Success (replaced Jakubiak): Looked dangerous in attack. Fast, direct and looking likely to play a key role for Watford this term. 7

They are more open to young players because it makes financial sense. If a guy is serious it would take one conversation with the coach for him to get over hanging on the ball. You cannot expect every 24 year old to easily break into a European team. Every Nigerian footballer must not play in Europe. Just like every African American basketballer must not play in the NBA. Some are lucky but a lot more are not.

I am talking qualifications wise plus experience in Europe which is what players will need to have successful careers.

. I understand. There must always be that one selfish player. The only thing that'll save him is the goals he scores or assists he makes. This, you can expect from Sanchez. The problem here is we have too many Ronaldinho wannabes who play selfishly but either end up losing the ball, missing great opportunities or giving wrong crosses thereby costing the team. Football should be a team game but some just take it upon themselves to ruin it.

Manu might only have a CAF badge but the success he has had at the U17 level coupled with the caliber of players he has developed makes this a no brainer. I don't see how Finidi starting under him should be an issue. Nigeria is not Europe he will need to get integrated into the system. Remember Emanuel Amunike did the same thing before leading his own team to glory

What was Amuneke's experience when he was assistant? Finidi has years of experience in europe coaching youth players.

I am saying, he can run his own shift based on his qualifications alone.

You are saying something different. I simply said someone like Finidi should be given the opportunity to manage one of the youth teams. It can be now or in the future.

I do understand but that can be coached out of the player. That cannot be a reason why African players are behind their European counterparts. We just need better coaches and facilities then you will see a serious league.

Asst Coach?

That would be an insult on an injury yet to happen. why?

Baba Finidi is well versed and capable of managing a youth team on his own.

Why can't we see the handwriting on the wall. Spain invited him to do similar job at a summit. If the next Iniesta comes from that summit and gives credit to what Finidi imparted, is it then we would begin to blame NFF for not doing the right thing then?

I'm not saying he is all knowing, but Finidi is okay with a cadet team. okay name peeps he will be asst to first.

Haba.

Now you are getting to the point. Better coaches at the youth level will impact values that will help players become better professionals. A coach like Finidi with good experience in the spanish youth system which is probably one of the best in the world can impact inmeasurable knowledge to Nigerian kids.

Structure and coaches.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE FOR THE 2018/2019 SEASON.
THE LEAGUE STARTS FROM GW1 TO GW38 WITH MONEY UP FOR GRABS EVERY GAME WEEK. ALL FPL MANAGERS ARE TO PAY A SUM OF ONE THOUSAND NAIRA (#1000) TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LEAGUE. THE AMOUT TO BE GAINED EVERY GAME WEEK WOULD BE DECIDED BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE.

. It is not the only reason but definitely a MAJOR reason. Shebi you know that 'coached out of the player' implies an unlearning process and when you're so used to something,it's quite hard to let go. Let's say you finally manage to do so,you have to start a new learning process which is also not easy. How old will the player be when everything is finally learnt especially with this issue of age cheating? Majority of our players go abroad believing they know the basics of football only to go there and find out that even a 12 year old knows better than they do. Football is played differently in Europe than in Africa and you and I know that to excel as a professional football player,YOU GATS PLAY IN EUROPE cool

Hope out falconers aren't going to colet in France?

I expect they should be zealous to outdo what Oparanozie and Oshoala did years ago.

Carl Ikeme retires and GKAssoc congratulated him.

Will miss him.

One Femi Ilesanmi played against Arsenal for Boreham. I hope they wana watch out for him.

Unai seems more than eager to sign Ndidi. £25m is still the price and looks wack to me.

wish Nacho leaves Leicester and follow the man that gave him a big chance without partiality or prejudice @Pelegrini.

He is at West Ham now. And I believe we'll he would take a good risk once again cos his confidence on Nacho is high.

Would've loved to see Aluko in the EPL with Fulham.
