Finidi cannot solve that problem as an U17 coach. Few players will be impacted but that does not guarantee anything. Because what we see at the U17 level is just a promise. Our true potentials as a football nation can be seen at the U20 level.

I would rather use Finidi in a larger capacity, of course with the right enabling environment (structures put in place)

tbaba1234:

You need to provide the structures and training down to the grassroots.

U are very funny. Rohr should invite someone from chinese second division club just because of the tag "Nig-brazilian"?

Just the same way we should invite Ryan Sanusi because he is Moussa Dembele's cousin grin

All these pre-season games flatter to deceive. Make we enter the real season, we go see who be who.

Honours remained even after a grueling ninety minutes at the Allianz Riviera Stadium as Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw versus Italian opponents, Internazionale before nicking a victory via penalties in their International Champions Cup meeting on Saturday evening.

While Chelsea's Nigerian duo of Kenneth Omeruo and Ola Aina were not among the traveling party to Nice for the cracker, Victor Moses and Tammy Abraham were afforded game time from the bench.

It could mean Maurizio Sarri is planning to use Abraham as the back up front man for Alvaro Morata after the Italian opted to replace the Spaniard with the 20-year-old for the second consecutive game, bringing him on after 65 minutes here.

And it is no longer news that Super Eagle Victor Moses will be playing in his natural attacking right wing position after he made his pre-season bow there, coming on for Pedro Ledesma in the course of the second half.

Abraham went close to finding the net four minutes after entering the fray, making a smart turn in the box before firing a shot from the edge of the box but Samir Handanovič was quick to gather.

Moses and Abraham both scored from the spot in the straight shoot-out which ensued as Chelsea saw off their opponents 5-4

‎Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Chidozie Awaziem was once again handed a start by coach Sergio Conceicao as they hold Newcastle United to a 0-0 in a pre season friendly.

Awaziem paired new boy Chancel Mbemba in the heart of the defence for FC Porto and held his own against the forward line of Newcastle United to help his team to a clean sheet.

Since returning back to Porto from French Ligue 1 side Nantes, Awaziem who made Nigeria’s squad to the World Cup but didn’t get to play in their three group games before the were eliminated has been a regular in pre season so far.

A sign that he will be useful to the team when the season begins was provided by the coach who handed him the vacant jersey number 5 at the club, which was last worn by Marcano who is now at Serie A side Roma.

Although he has failed to convince in the few games he has played for Nigeria, coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has over time showed his faith in the 21 year old.

He started this season with determination. Perhaps, seeing his mates at the world cup pushed him in the right direction. I hope he has a great season.

And u forgot it is the best time for players(mainly those with a point to prove) to make impressions on their coaches to be given a chance in the main event? U forgot a bad pre season could place u on the bad book of the coach and have u sent away on loan?

It was a good preseason that gave Achor his Man City break under Pelegrini

Super Eagles Coach Rohr Monitoring QPR Duo Osayi & Eze Ahead AFCON 2019 Qualifiers

The fine form of Anglo-Nigerian duo Bright Osayi -Samuel and Ebere Eze has not gone unnoticed by coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr , Owngoalnigeria.com understands.

They were both on target for the English Championship side in their 3-0 win over German side Union Berlin with Osayi-Samuel scoring the second goal while Eze scored the third and final goal from the spot.

According to reports gathered by our editorial team, coach Rohr has been monitoring the duo for a while with Eze even training with the Super Eagles during a training camp in London last year.

Nigeria will soon regroup for the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie against Seychelles, and one among the duo is likely to make the squad as Rohr is keen on rebuilding the team with young players after their first round exit at the World Cup.

” Most people don’t know how Rohr works. He has information on almost all Nigerian players doing well at their respective clubs. Eze even trained with us in London “, a member of the backroom of the team told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” I can’t say for now if they will make the team for the Seychelles game, maybe Eze could make it. It all depends on what Rohr think he can add to the team if called up”, he concluded.

As far as i am concerned that boy i see there is not a young boy,if we call our so called u20 players old men then this boy i see here make no difference.

That boy i see there is just about 3 years younger than our u20 players, that still doesnt make him 18.

We cannot call our home base over age and see this one and call him a young boy just because he is in sweden common,
i will never agree with that.

The irrefutable reality us that in Sweden you have just like in the entire developed world.

At Birth there is AUTOMATIC NATIONAL BIRTH DATA CAPTURE, indeed there is also data capture prior to birth.

As it stands we do not have that in Nigeria. As a consequence we don't have any official substantive methodology beyond Sworn declaration of age, to ascertain age. The birth certificates we issue don't have official sanction with regards to thier validity.

If u are a very honest man, a realist who doesn't allow sentiment becloud his sense of reasoning, then, some times, u will be able to see things even bfor they happen.

Here is my post sometime in the past about Mercano the Porto's former no.5 sold to Roma after the past season and Awaziem

Very very young. I am so happy for him. Porto coach sold one of his stalwarts in the defense this past season few weeks ago to Roma to create a chance for young Awaziem in the first team next season.
