Abagworo: This Okorochas's planned media hype, what can he show other than his Owerri projects - as usual? Outside Owerri, he can only show his Stadium in Okigwe. Let him not further irritate the people of Imo state outside Owerri capital territory with this proposed media hype. On election day, people troop out from Owerri to their communities, see the rot or development in their communities, then decide who to support with votes - or support through election rigging. 1 Like |

Abagworo: Through concentration of nearly all his government's development projects in Owerri, Okorocha's government economically over-empowers natives of Owerri capital territory, but impoverishes natives of rest of Imo state. Votes or support for election rigging for Okorocha for Third term, by natives of Owerri Capital territory can't make the Third term Okorocha craves. 1 Like |

Incredibleme: Abia and Imo as well as most States in Nigeria are no longer into palm. They are just producing marginally even though Government is trying to bring back the enthusiasm. Ebonyi has always been the major rice, salt and solid minerals producer in Southeast. Anambra, Abia, Enugu and Imo also produce rice but not comparable with Ebonyi. Cassava is the biggest agricultural produce in the Southeast and Imo leads by a wide margin followed by Anambra but on national level Benue is the king. |

Abagworo: Your master failed to plan, that is why despite all that he has done, he is a complete failure. How can a govt go about doing things like little kids, wasting tax payers money on things that are not important at all and building asphalt roads with little bitumen. It is a big shame. |

How can this young man known as Abagworo be singing praises to a useless govt, a govt that closed Douglas road for so many months now, there by subjecting the people to hellish suffering. Where in this world is this type of thing down. 4 Likes |

Abagworo is a part of the government lol. Abagworo, enjoy your stay my friend, time is ticking. What we need to be discussing is who will be providing us with pictures once abagworo is rendered a civilian The type of development Okorochas believes in is absent of cultural wisdom. If he knew our people he will know that we don't believe in the 1 city per state development he imported from the north. He'll know that his senseless demolishion of sacred markets, confiscating people's land, confiscating community hospitals, and pack of focus on industry, commerce, education, or quality are all abominations. This tells me he's not from here. He believes in the superficial Nigerian development model where you won't promote single factory but you'll pace you state capital is flowers and statues and tell people you're working. From steal half of people's salaries, to allowing all communities outside of owerri to rot, okorocha is Imo's TA Orji. Now he's coming with his son in law? Lol 3 Likes |

Igboland is not Jigawa. He should see this as a blessing. The people will build hospitals schools beautiful structures factories and markets by them selves. All we need from governement is an enabling environment for EMPLOYMENT and ROADS. That's all an Igbo governor needs to do. He's not dealing with idle people but what are we supoosed to do when the governor is demolishing markets and erecting statues? Banning whole industries and taking our land as personal estates. If you see the type of edifices he's handed to his fat children you'll know that this man believes he's the sultan of imo state. 3 Likes |

Ofodirinwa: You people like complaining about everything. So you want to tell me that Okorocha did not construct major roads in Orlu and Okigwe? Are you also expecting the governor to build factories in Orlu and Okigwe? If you think Okorocha is good at destroying Markets and Houses, you need to visit Lagos to see mega destruction of anything destroyable from newly constructed houses to shops, markets etc even without compensation to the affected persons just to construction a road. Your major concern now should be pressurizing the government to complete most of its uncompleted projects and looking for the right person to take over Imo state in 2019 and not all these "one city" complains that you guys are fund of doing. It was not Okorocha that dragged private investors to Owerri, the investors saw Owerri as the most attractive destination for investing majorly because it is the state's capital and most famous city in Imo state, the same thing is happening in Enugu state. 2 Likes |

nnamdijonathan: So investors will run away if imo has 3 productive cities instead of one?? I'm that had 3 vibrant urban centers before okorocha and one today? Is this a gain or a loss. People like you are primarily interested in looking at pictures of owerri and not living in imo. 3 Likes |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Nobody: 7:25pm On Jul 29, 2018 |
Ofodirinwa: Onitsha used to be the only productive city in Anambra until natives of Anambra started developing Awka and Nnewi. Today Nnewi is known as the Industrial hub of the state, Awka is the hospitality hub of the state unlike before when everything used to be Onitsha. You guys that are complaining should start developing Orlu and Okigwe so that both cities will be known for something rather than making noise up and down and blaming Okorocha. Owerri is already known as the capital of IMO state and the hospitality hub of the state, you guys should make Orlu the Industrial hub and Okigwe should be made the Sport hub or Agricultural hub and don't tell me that it is not possible because as we speak, Ifeanyi Uba ( just one person and he is not even in government ) is turning Ekwulobia to the sport hub of Anambra by constructing the biggest sports centre in the SE in Ekwulobia. If you guys can start the development, other investors will come in and Owerri will have 2 main competitors in Imo state. Okorocha has already started building the commercial and tourism sectors of other parts of Imo state by constructing a new mechanical/spare parts market in Orlu, new stadium in Okigwe, On going stadium in Orlu, an 18 story hotel in Okigwe which will be the tallest hotel in the entire South east and Nigeria and is currently at the 5th floor amongst other projects like the 2 flyovers, main roads, new pry & sec schools, new general hospitals etc. 1 Like |

nnamdijonathan: LOL so the government didn't develop Awka? Lets just say Nnewi, from roads to schools what 100% a private project (it wasn't). You're trying to tell me that the government of Anambra didn't develop Awka? That there's no government presence in Onitsha? The people in these places will pay taxes to the government, the government will take their money, buy their daughter a hotel in Owerri and tell the people to go an develop themselves? Did you know that Imo gets oil derivation? None of the oil comes from Owerri. But that oil money goes to buying Okorocha businesses abroad or dashing community hospitals to his brother in law and you're telling me that this is ok because all of the roads in Nnewi were built by Ifeanyi Uba? Did you know that Orlu was ahead of Nnewi and Awka in industries, population and infrastructure? You're argument holds no ground. Okigwe and Orlu were booming todays, Orlu was bigger than Owerri. At the time Okorocha came they were neck and neck. Now the other two have DECLINED on his watch. You're speaking about Imo state like human beings (the majority of the states population in fact) don't live in Orlu and Okigwe zones. This is how I know you're in Canada waiting to see pictures of Owerri and telling yourself that something is happening. Okorocha has even destroyed the local government structure so that these places can't 'develop themselves'. 1 Like |

Like as always they will never focus on discussing their backward Imo state and how to rescue it, but rather they are spending all the time talking about Anambra as if Anambra is the reason Imo state is stagnant. Nnewi is now at the same level with Owerri but they will always be busy talking about other states. I have never seen anywhere in Anambra or Enugu threads where they are discussing about Imo state in anyway. Learn to focus your discussion on Imo state to avoid us having problem here. Ndi iberibe |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Nobody: 9:07pm On Jul 29, 2018 |
Ofodirinwa: So you also want to tell me that it was only Obiano that developed Awka and Nnewi without the input of the natives? Tell me one industry Obiano built in Awka and Nnewi? So you also want me to believe that for the past 7 years, Okorocha did not do anything in Orlu and Okigwe? You yourself knows that you are lying. As I have said before, you better contribute to the development of Orlu and Okigwe just like NdiNnewi and NdiAwka developed their own cities or you can continue complaining while more private companies continue to build their structures in Owerri. As for the destruction of Local government structure, over 80% of states in Nigeria are guilty of it not only Imo state government. As for source of oil, Oguta community and environs who produce oil are enjoying free power supply. If Okigwe and Orlu were bigger than Owerri before, so that means that Owerri cannot get more developed than them in the future? You are talking as if Orlu and Okigwe were very developed before, let me make it clear to you that both Orlu and Okigwe have never been more popular than Owerri. Since 2011, more investors have trooped into Imo state and most of them invested in Owerri, is this also a crime? You said Okorocha is buying hotels for his children, how exactly is this our business for God's sake? Do you think Okorocha is not wealthy enough to own a hotel and then decide to hand it over to his child? Do you know that House of Freda is owned by Okorocha's wife? She started it in Abuja and opened a branch in Owerri after she became first lady of Imo state. This is to let you know that the family has money to own hotels and malls and that really shouldn't be your business. |

nnamdijonathan: This dud is out of touch and nauseating. This dud wants Orlu and Okigwe people to develop their areas while Okorocha continues to develop Owerri with the federal allocations of Orlu and Okigwe, because Owerri is state capital - typical policy of a lousy lot and Abagworo/Okorocha govt. Mechanical/Spare parts market built by Okorocha in Orlu? It does not exist. Stadium being built in Orlu by Okorocha govt? Since 2013, worked stopped on the dwarf wall level on the stadium site. Certain: Orlu drastically diminished in population, businesses and significance since 2011. 2 Likes |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Ofodirinwa: 10:30pm On Jul 29, 2018 |
nnamdijonathan: and Orlu and Okigwe natives won't give input? The problem is when you're wrong you shift the goal post or say something without considering how hypocritical it can sound out loud. So you're drilling oil for Orlu zone, inflated the state budget, then developing Owerri and buying personal hotels because 'awka (state capital) people developed their own city"? Yes it is a crime. You collect tax from markets in Mgbidi, Umaka and co then us it to build statues in Owerri. When people from those zones ask what you're doing with THEIR money and the money allocated to them, you tell them that Awka (state capital) was developed without state government help? and no, Okorocha can't afford to build a hotel. Okorocha couldn't afford to build a hotel before he was the governor, now that he's governor his daughters, son in laws, brother in laws and sisters have several hotels? Many of which were built before he was governor. I'm confident you're speaking on what you don't know. Okorocha is not wealthy enough to do now what he couldn't do before the governorship unless it's government wealth that you're calling 'wealthy enough'. Worst is he's now trying to claim Eastern Palm as his own private university. Mind you he confiscated people in his own villages land to build it. Have you seen Imo state's debt profile? Why are we the only state in the east ranking with northern and western states in debt? Why are we declining in educational rankings? Name one factory have has arisen from his 'job job job, factory factory factory' promise. Speak on what you know. 2 Likes |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Ofodirinwa: 10:33pm On Jul 29, 2018 |
mandax: What makes it worst is it's not that Okorocha is building Owerri faster than others. He's actively destroying Orlu! Today Onitsha is bigger than Nnewi but it's not because anyone took power and used it to dismantle and relocate the things that were in Nnewi that made it great. Okorocha is primitive, too primitive for comparisons to Obiano. We;re dealing with a man less literate and less capable than the average person he governs and he continues to throw his compound ignorance at the lives of many. When Okorocha refused to pay salaries for almost a year then told civil servants they have to sign a contract stating they'll only get half of what's owed to them, how did that attract investors? Is that why the investors are coming? Jacob Zuma and Ellen Sirleaf statues? 1 Like |

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Nobody: 11:11pm On Jul 29, 2018 |
Ofodirinwa: I never said only natives developed Awka, I only said the natives are required to play their own part in developing their city. You said Okorocha was not wealthy before he became governor? Maybe you were the one that has been sponsoring the Rocha's Foundation which started even before Okorocha became governor? I'm sure you were also the person that built House of Freda in Abuja before Okorocha became governor? So you think that Okorocha's salary and allowances as a governor for just 1 year is not enough for him to build a hotel for himself? You just hate Okorocha and that is the truth. You want to tell me that old schools he reconstructed in Imo state were only those in Owerri? What of the general hospital built in each LGA, did he also build all 27 hospitals in Owerri? So Okorocha also did not reconstruct any road in Orlu and Okigwe throughout his 7 years in office? Why is Imo declining in education ranking? Is it also Okorocha that will write the exams for the students in Imo state because, I know that you have already put the blame on the governor? Abia state does not have as much good and well equipped schools like Imo, Anambra, Rivers, Lagos etc but, Abia top WAEC list every year, should we also also go ahead and kill the governors of those states? There is a free education policy in Imo state that was set up by Okorocha for all natives of Imo state, I hope you don't also tell me that the free education policy works only in Owerri? In Lagos, Ikorodu is the largest residential area in Lagos and also one of the most populated LGA in Nigeria and then the residents in Ikorodu will start disturbing Ambode to make Ikorodu look like Ikoyi or Ikeja or Lekki all because it is highly residential with large commercial centre. Whether you like it or not, Orlu and Okigwe can never be considered as first choice destination for investors in Imo state except Owerri no longer exist same as investors will always consider Lagos before thinking of other states in Nigeria. If you are so annoyed about the development of Owerri, its better to start calling for Orlu to become the new state capital of Imo since you hate Owerri or Okorocha out of ignorance. Please give me points that make you feel Okorocha has abandoned Orlu and Okigwe or that he is the reason why Owerri is developing faster than them and please stop talking about Okorocha's property because, that is not your business. 1 Like |

Ofodirinwa: Jacob Zuma and Ellen Sirleaf came to Imo because of the free education program set up by Okorocha. As for Salaries, Okorocha paid all civil servants their salaries until recently when the state didn't receive FG allocation but, once the allocations are paid, Imo state will pay its workers the 2 months salaries they are owed. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by kikake: 11:59pm On Jul 29, 2018 |
Imo state is a soured state in Igbo land. Only state in Igbo land created far back 1976, yet has only one modern city. Rochas Okorocha worsened the situation. Orlu massively voted Okorocha in 2011 to make Imo state have two or more modern cites. But ancient malice, instead made Okorocha destroy existing infrastructures in Orlu - Okorocha first destroyed Orlu sports stadium - the stadium seats and floodlights gone., ... he suffocated the teaching hospital in Orlu because of his personal university in his village; he stifled the Imo International market in Orlu as he refused to reconstruct the roads to the market. he scrapped about 16km of roads in Orlu and abandoned them since 2012. To project and perpetuate his malice against Orlu, Okorocha seems to be ready to stake anything. The much-boasted Mgbidi Market and Oguta lake resorts have disappeared from Okorocha govt's dictionary, perhaps these places are associated to Orlu, as Okorocha builds market after market in Owerri. Time to give account is fast approaching. 2 Likes |

Ofodirinwa: Zuma and Sirleaf did not get statues because they came to Owerri but rather had the statue already in place and used the opportunity of their visit to unveil their statues. Alex Ekwueme and Akufo Addo of Ghana also unveiled theirs when they visited Owerri. Even Ojukwu, Azikiwe, Obasanjo, Macaulay etc have their statue there with brief history for education. |
