how do they arrived to all these statistics, look at the piggery called Osun State without any commercial or industrial value ranking higher than states with large production sector.

please can someone tell me the sector Osun state dominates , most households still cook with firewood, charcoal. No airport, no major transportation firm has terminal in the state yet she keep making top ranks.

How many banks are there in Osun State?

i think the Osun state government takes time to inflate statistics. Every statistic you can present about Nigeria where the state reports it's own status, Osun dominates.

It's also the most indebted state per capita and ranks abysmally in education statistics. But if it's time to check who has the highest standard of living in Nigeria, Osun will be there above Lagos and Abuja

the funny part is that those conjuring the data can't even point at one thing Osun State produce, apart from international breweries ilesha and Tons Farms nothing meaningful is happening in Osun.

backlog of salaries and pensions are still being owed, there are more public schools because private schools can't thrive there.
inasmuch food is cheap there and bus meat readily available, Osun State is very poor state even but fifth world standard.

lol maybe someone from Osun can share pictures with us or an account of life there, these statistic are very funny

this is the least insulting, most presentable picture I can find of Ilesha. This is also on par with 90% of the 3rd tier villages in the east. If it were in Imo state, this wouldn't even be an autonomous community talkless of a town.

The report should follow UNDP measures for human development which is health, education, sanitation before adding things like income, employment, comfort. On this scale I seriously doubt Lagos would rank first since it is generally an oasis of wealth in a sea of urban poverty.

For Anambra it needs to sustain the education, healthcare battle while trying to boost employment through infrastructure and investment. It is a small state and while agriculture is nice there needs to be a plan to focus on driving growth in industry, retail and services around the hubs of Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka. There is a correlation between the sophistication of cities and investment and Anambra has to be committed to transforming itself from a primitive wheel barrow and bare concrete trading economy.

We caused it. There's so much bottleneck in doing business in the east. The inability of we igbos to release lands for business is a major debilitating factor in business.

We also have the problem of people feeling like they won't be welcomed in the area, that's why it is getting more difficult.

We need to rebrand the east to be cosmopolitan in nature. Let everyone feel at ease to do business. I am not trying to invite other religions to this but it is very difficult for Muslims from the southwest and north to want to settle in the east unlike southwest.

We have to be smarter than the way we are holding up.

The poor performance of igbo states in development indices goes to show the dire need of smart minds in developing the region. The concrete and manual system of economy is making development run at a very slow pace.

More so, our inability to pick sectors of the economy to invest on so that the ripple effect of the development of such sectors can be used in developing a tier-2 sector that will sustain the region.

We keep moving around doing almost nothing. We keep making it difficult for indigenous investors to invest because our issues are much. We continue neglect the importance of electricity, security, water resources and good environmental ambience. We are not looking for people to rebrand the mental outlook of the east in the minds of other people.

We need lose some huge sum of money so as to gain. We need to start reducing the prices for lands so that people can buy lands and build business. In some parts of the country, a plot can still go for 70k, but in the east, even the evil forest goes for nothing less than 800k per same plot.

We need to device better workable methods to drive businesses, healthcare, industrialization and hospitality.

How can people just come out here and be talking trash. How will you be talking about reduction in the price of land in order to aid development. So, is land in Abuja, Lagos, PortHarcourt cheap? Why are they developing? My dear, if you don't have money for land, go and make money or you go to those places where they sell 70k and buy your so called cheap land. The high cost of land in Anambra is because of development and the price is still rising.

So you were expecting Igbo states to perform better than Osun when all we do is disgrace our states everywhere we go. The way the Igbo man speaks of the States in Igboland can easily make organizations berate our region. Have you ever seen a Yoruba come out to berate Ekiti and Osun states openly because of any reason at all? Imagine Osun state taking 2nd position in lowest poverty index and Ekiti taking 4th. We all have to deal with these stupid statistics until we improve in Igboland and spread positive things about our land to other people.

Then what do you feel is the solution to these stupid statistics because, these statistics have already been viewed by many individuals just within 24 hours and foreign investors may also stumble upon these stupid statistics and decide which part of Nigeria is the best to invest in.

Tell us the position of your Imo state in that statistics, stop lumping the entire Igbo land into your backwardness in Imo state. States like Anambra is in the SE and it did well in the statistics. Let us focus on those states that didn't do well and push their leaders into doing the right thing so that the SE generally can move at the same fast pace as Anambra.

These are the indices of development enumerated in the report, let us check states in the SE that have done the right thing that necessited their growth. Let us stop bothering about what the stats says about West and North.

These are what the stats harped on:

- IGR

- Assess to internet

- Assess to electricity

- Ease of doing business

Let us look at those states that are lagging behind in the SE and call out their leaders.

At the end of the day investors both foreign and local will work with this report on where to invest. And you wonder why investors maintained just particular area whenever they are coming to any region. The stats reflects exactly the economic prosperity in Anambra and that is my major concern. Everyone should focus on his/her state and push his/her governor to borrow a leaf on what another state has done and succeeded.
