The more I think about it, the more I feel Salisu might have a case and won't be sacked. If Okechukwu and Rabiu Ali were really the players those guys offered Salisu money to play, Salisu can argue those players were already going to be on the squad regardless and Rabiu Ali is too old to move to europe.
His "gift" argument actually isn't a bad idea. Those guys messed up big time...didn't do it right
Just imagine if this happened in any other country. These excuses would not hold water.

The Ghanaian FA could have invented a lot of b. ull as to why the FA chief was correct to accept the cash offered.

Anyway, na our way, and we wonder why we're so retrogressive in almost every aspect of our national life.

http://tv5.espn.com/football/nigeria/story/3584755/salisu-yusuf-backed-as-honest-victim-by-gernot-rohr

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has thrown his weight behind his assistant Salisu Yusuf, who is the subject of an internal NFF investigation after he was secretly filmed receiving cash from undercover reporters posing as football agents.

Yusuf has denied that the money was a bribe, describing it as a 'token', and Rohr has now come to the defence of his assistant

"I saw the video, and I saw what happened," Rohr told KweséESPN. "From my experience, Salisu is an honest man.

"Those people just want to make trouble, this is people just trying to catch some people," he added. "Salisu does not need that money, he is a victim of this situation."

The assistant coach, who doubles up as the coach of Nigeria's Olympics team and the home-based Eagles, is currently in the UK recovering from hip surgery.

However, he is expected to face the NFF's Ethics Committee upon his return, where Rohr is hopeful of a positive outcome.

"I hope the Ethics Committee will listen to him and not to those people," the German coach concluded, "because I know he is an honest man and a good man."

When the BBC published footage allegedly showing Yusuf receiving a cash gift from investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas on July 24, he became the latest high-profile African footballing figure to have been implicated in the ongoing bribery scandal affecting sport on the continent.

In footage filmed in September 2017, the coach is shown meeting with Anas's Tiger Eye agency and accepting cash ostensibly to ensure that two players are selected for the CHAN tournament.

Anas's exposes have already resulted in the disintegration of the Ghana Football Association after former president Kwesi Nyanyakyi was allegedly shown accepting a cash gift of $65,000 (£48,000).

Similarly, Kenyan referee Marwa Range had to resign his World Cup post, and was subsequently banned by CAF for all football-related activities, after being allegedly recorded taking bribes.

Range was one of several officials who were handed a range of bans by African football's governing body.

Soo Rohr is backing his assistant, I doubt NFF will sack Yusuf now

Lol. Salisu must have begged Rohr to make this statement for him.

But it's pretty naive of Rohr though. Why stick out your neck for a corrupt and incompetent rogue?. Let Rohr face his work and leave NFF politics abeg.

With what will well traveled disagree?

I have been to atleast one or two countries in West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, Middle East and Asia, so I know we might not be in the same level with the later two but the rest no reach us.

So, there is nothing to disagree about if Africa is the scale S.I unit measurement used to measure standard.

We are not comparing ourselves with America of Europe neither are hosting FIFA world cup.

It's AFCON we are hosting. Can we host best AFCON? Why not! Mind you, we co hosted 2000 AFCON and it was at the time we were not this developed.

Do you think we can compete with Morocco for infrastructure.

It's not just about stadiums alone you must add security, socail responsibility, tourism, connectivity etc.

Cross the border from Ghana to Togo and Togo to Benin then compare that with Some border. Add to that compare the road all the way to Seme. Then enter our road from the border count the multiple checkpoints by every Tom, dick and Harry that's a public official.

Then tell me we are Truly Ready.

If AFCON is in Morocco I probably will drive from Manchester to Tangier - Marrakesh, etc without any problem or worries.

If we win to celebrate I'll drive from there to Lagos

You have taken the words out of my mouth.

Nigeria is the only place a public official will be caught red handed and they will have ZERO SHAME they will not resign they will rather be throwing abuse at you and claiming to be honourable.

That's why public officials behave in ways that are just well, I don't have enough words to describe.

Most of the players who go abroad do not even get reported as they go to less fancied places.

The best players often get the chance to go on trial abroad even before they join the league. Some never pursue football professionally. Unfortunately, those that go abroad sometimes end up with slave contracts and disappear. I have heard stories of Nigerians who went abroad to play football but ended up doing menial jobs in Europe to get by.

And I have seen many washing cars on the streets of Antwerp.

You go cry for them scattered dreams to ashamed to return to Nigeria with nothing to show.

In extreme cases, they end up working as sex slaves and drug peddlers in Europe.
There's an NGO fighting against these traffickers. The players themselves are interested to travel abroad by all means, even if they don't play football.
They just want to hustle. Plenty of them are in Malta.

What do you mean.

Ighalo threw chances upon chances away when we played Egypt home and away at the last AFCON qualifiers, same happened against Tanzania in the same qualifiers.

After his goal against Cameroon, he's been totally goal-barren, and you say he doesn't deserve the sticks?

It's not everytime one has to be controversial, come out and say things as they are, no romances!

thanks for your words....
sometimes It leaves me baffled at the height he try make case for a woeful super eagles striker...
glaring to all reasonable folks how wasteful he is in front of goal...
may be he is related to the dude, I won't say he is Ighalo agent because he is still a teenager...

Oga,u are always quick to criticize ighalo, when it was obvious dt d players in d striking dept FUMBLED ASYDE SIMMY who wasn't given oppt as such

At least,u testified dt ighalo wasted chances wc is true, what abt "Mr perfect" who couldn't even manage two shot on target thruout his playing time at d WC, very abysmal..if we re to go by d worldcup performance none of d strikers will b called back to d national team asyde MUSA,AND SIMMY who wasn't given d much chance to showcase its talent.

The FIFA U-20 WOMEN'S WORLD CUP has began.

Mexico is currently playing against Brazil and it's 2 goals appease.

FIFA under Infantile seems not to be interested in female football and this competition is a reflection of that. The girls are playing on training pitches.
