People that come abroad to hussle spend a lot of money. I read a story about a person who spent over 1.5 Million to go abroad to hussle. With that money, the person could have set up a small business in 9ja and live with some dignity.

I know a man who went to Italy via boat. He was not in a terrible state in 9ja. It is just a pursuit of an illusion. By the time, this guy got there, he was sending messages to everyone to send him money. He did not tell anyone when he climbed boat. Worst thing is that, he has a wife and kid.

No be suffer dey cause travel for most people.

See Nigerians seeking asylum in Canada with ridiculous excuses.

With respect you are talking about the exceptions not the general trend.

I booked a friend in a average hotel in Lekki 1 and got to talking to one of the reception staff. She had a degree in Finance from Uniben graduated 7/8 years ago and monthly salary was 60k naira.

Maybe she was not being truthful I don't know.

But is that kind of salary not enough to cause deep depression, chronic desolation and despair.

And that's a graduate what about the multitudes who don't even have a degree and or a job of any substance.

Can you not see the depth of despair that our people are going through. Maybe you are not in Nigeria and can't empathise.

Because I certainly feel thier pain.

I am still very connected with Nigeria. I have family and siblings living in Nigeria.

There is plenty of suffering without a doubt especially with the lack of jobs. However, many of the people who decide to make the dangerous trip abroad are doing so, just because it is Europe and it is supposed to be better there. Some have decent livelihoods and families that they leave behind in pursuit of this European dream.

The average salary of a receptionist in an average hotel is not more than N25000/month. You can quote me anywhere.
N60000/month is grossly over exaggerated for a receptionist working in an average hotel, except maybe she added tips which come her way from benevolent visitors.
To be honest, I consider it a miracle seeing how blue collar workers survive in Nigeria.

One of things about development its often measured in comparison.

We are Nigeria not Togo we should make comparison with south Africa and North Africa. That will tell us our level of infrastructural development.

To host the world cup, you firstly need 12 stadiums with at least 40,000 capacity.

How many of those North African countries can boast of
12 stadiums with such capacity? None

Only Morocco has 6 of those while Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria have 3, 2 & 3 respectively while we have 4 of such capacity.

If we put our stadiums side by side with all the aforementioned stadiums, they are inferior to most of our stadiums.

As you can see, are even ahead of these countries in terms of hosting football matches.

Infrastructure, good organization culture. What are the chances that there is going to be power outages if we host? How about organization lapses? Oga we know our way. How do you compare our airports to those of the lesser countries you have been to? I don’t know about you but when I go to other countries I take special note of their airport facilities and personnel. That’s the first limpression, that’s what greets you about the people. I’m surprised you are quite confident about Nigeria presenting the best AFCON EXPERIENCE, even if we removed South Africa.

Nigeria as a country is not serious about anything except owambe.

Nigeria is not serious yet hosted 1999 FIFA U20 world cup, 2000 Afcon and 2009 FIFA U17 world cup yet none of these so called countries have been able to do that save Egypt.

Besides, you're confused. Stick to either hosting world cup or Afcon.

Saudi Arabia move might boost Ahmed Musa's Super Eagles hopes - Rohr

4 Aug, 2018

Colin Udoh

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr believes that Ahmed Musa's move to Al-Nassr FC this week could boost his Super Eagles contribution.

The 25-year-old ended his underwhelming two-year stay with Leicester City on Friday, when he signed deal with the Saudi Arabian side.

Despite moving away from European football, and one of the world's major leagues, Super Eagles boss Rohr is confident that Musa's move could help Nigeria.

"I am very happy for Musa," Rohr told KweséESPN. "It's good for him to go to a club where he is playing than to a club where he is not playing.

"The assistant coach at Leicester [Jacky Bonnevay] is someone I know, and he is sad that Musa has to go," the German coach continued. "He saw him training and he was very happy."

"I do not say that [Musa's international career will be jeopardised by his move to Saudi Arabia]," Rohr concluded.

"He is an important player for us, and he is going to a club where he plays, that's important.

"It's better for us that he plays all the time than he stays on the bench."

Musa managed just 21 Premier League appearances - of which seven were starts - after moving to Leicester from CSKA Moscow in 2016.

He scored twice after struggling to force his way into either Claudio Ranieri or Craig Shakespeare's plans.

He didn't feature for the Foxes last term after being deemed surplus to requirements by Claude Puel, and was sent back on loan to CSKA.

His fortunes improved back in Russia, and he netted six times in 10 Russian Premier League outings in order to secure a spot in Nigeria's World Cup squad.

Memorably, the fleet-footed forward netted twice after the Super Eagles downed Iceland 2-0 in their second group game.

Before joining CSKA in 2012, Musa was the NPFL's then-highest scorer after netting 18 times with Kano Pillars in the 2009-19 season when just 17.

He subsequently secured a move to VVV-Venlo in the Netherlands.

Torino are moving for Chelsea fullback Ola Aina.

After spending last season on-loan with Hull City, Aina is being made available again by the Blues for another temporary deal.

Derby County and West Brom are both in talks with Chelsea about a deal for the Nigeria international.

However, TMW says Toro are also keen with their sports director Gianluca Petrachi stepping in to bring Aina to Italy for the new season.

Toro coach Walter Mazzarri is convinced by the quality of Aina, who he believes could also handle being played as a centre-half in Italy.

Hosting world cups is not just about stadia. The logistics to cater for tourists and visitors is even more important than your beautiful stadia.
For instance, each hosting city will need atleast 30 thousand standard hotel rooms! Can Plateau state, Awka Ibom or Taraba offer this nunber of standard hotel rooms?
How about constant power? Can your country commit to producing constant power for the 1 month tournament?
How about transportation? How good are your inter state roads? Are your trains working? How many decent airports can you boast of in the entire country?
I won't even mention security and about $30B in liquid cash needed to finance the entire project. As it stands, I will be surprised if Nigeria's external foreign reserve is up to $30B.
Hopefully, in 60yrs time, Nigeria will be ready but as it stands. We have ZERO chance!

Yes, a host country gets revenue from sponsors and FIFA but that's not the whole story. USA lost billions after hosting 94, Germany almost went bankrupt after 2006, likewise South Africa and Brazil's economy went belly up after hosting the previous editions.
The money invested in organizing such events is so huge that it cancels out the revenue in the end.

Why do you think our churches are full of people They have bought into the hope, in most cases misguided prosperity ministry and not the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I can contradict that because I know someone with a first class law degree with three years post qualification experience in the UK from a Russell group university who did an internship in a law firm possibly a top 4 firm. It was on broad Street Lagos.

They were offered 250k a month but declined and returned back to the UK.

Suffering Nigerians are mothers who have to sell pure water to send one child to school and lease out 2 to middle class families so that they won't all die. Suffering Nigerians are those struggle with each other to carry your luggage at the bus stops for 100, boys that stand in the sun all day selling rat killers and fake belts. None of these people can raise 1m. If you can raise 2m to travel out, you just want something better. There are graduates who go from Agege to VI and earns 50k monthly. Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Moses Simon has arrived in Spain where ‎he is scheduled to undergo a routine medical test with LaLiga side Levante from Belgium side Gent.

His transfer will cost Levante a fee believed to be around the €5m mark with several add-ons due to Gent which will see the fee rise base on several variables and it also includes a sell on clause which many believed is around ten percent.

Simon’s departure from Gent is coming at a time when his younger brother Thankgod Simon is in the city to seal a move as a replacement for his elder brother if he impresses during trials, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

A winger like his elder brother, Thankgod is however a lot quicker and more direct in his approach unlike Moses who is however a better and more refined user of the ball.

His trial will reportedly last for two weeks before a decision will be made on his potential signing by the technical crew of the Belgium side, who are looking for a winger after losing their Nigerian duo Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu.
