Our Girls did well today. They really impressed me. For a long time now, we now have a solid and good Female Goalkeeper. She was rock solid in goal(She won't be bad as back up for Uzoho)hahaha... The Girls showed something our men lacked-Courage. They didn't respect the Germans and German girls had to wait for so long and for luck to get that solitary goal. The weakest link in this competition is the attack... Our Girls are shy of goal. The jersey no 14 girl that lead our attack wasn't mobile enough like Ighalo but she did more in pressing than the Chinese king. The attackers needs to be more decisive... They killed so many promising attack. Ajibade and Imo the biggest culprit. With this performance, I see us progressing out of the group. 5 Likes |

egbon hosting competitions is just about having the facilities ready but having your people trained and logistics top nought. good transportation, stable light, excellent security for the whole country not just venues, happy economically bouyant locals who would come to watch the events. countries that done the basics have yet to host world cup is it now nigeria that is struggling to provide drinking water, electricity, schools etc that will now organize world cup? i laugh in hosting rights forgiveness: 2 Likes |

EFL Championship side Derby County are on the brink of announcing the signing of Nigerian defender Fikayo Tomori, as per reports. Football Insider says Tomori is undergoing a medical at Derby County after agreeing to join on a season-long loan. The report added that manager Frank Lampard has used his contacts at old club Chelsea to agree the capture of the player for the entirety of the 2018-19 campaign. The Canadian-born starlet has been on the books of Chelsea since 2005 and made his first-team debut against Leicester City on the final day of the 2015-2016 season, replacing Branislav Ivanović after an hour. He spent last season on loan at Hull City, playing 26 games in all competitions and providing two assists for the Tigers. Including Nigeria and Canada, Tomori is also eligible to represent England and was a key member of the Young Lions squad that won the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup. The 20-year-old was named Chelsea's Academy Player of the Year in May 2016. 1 Like |

goldfish80: I know there is a huge challenge in hosting the world but it is not impossible to host it. Qater hotels are concentrated in Doha. It is unlike Nigeria with hotels in major cities. Besides, they are using only 8 cities unlike 12 cities used by Russia. The reason for that is, FIFA wants to rotate the hosting ri right of the world cup among the continents hence the need to adjust to level of continents according to their situations. However, we can't bid for the 2022 and 2026 FIFA world cup because it have been awarded already. Therefore, we are talking about bidding for 2030 FIFA world cup which is about 12 years to come. Now, considering the amount of money spent on infrastructures so far and the fact that we will not remain stagnant for 12 years, how can one in his right mindset think we still need to spend $50b? Will we use $50b dollars to build hotels and stadiums, when already billions of dollars have been pumped into constructiond of 4 international airports and local airports, construction of railway line running from North to South, East to West and South to East, constructions of inter states roads, construction of mono/metro lines, construction of power plants, construction of the biggest refinery in Africa and refineries all over, construction of 3 largest gas plant in the world etcetera? Are we building all these things just to host the world cup or encourage inflow of internal direct foreign investment to boast our economy? Abi, we should continue to dwell with such parochial attitudes? |

chrisooblog: I know about all those things and it's on that I stand tto say, yes, we can host the world cup. After all, world cup is 12 years to come. By that time, we must have completed all the ongoing projects on ground. It will be the best time to showcase our infrastructures just to attract direct foreign investment. |

forgiveness: You're just making mouth like a typical Nigerian. Let me give you a little breakdown. According to Obasanjo's arithmetic, $1B =1KMW of electricity. If we are to add about 10KMV to what we already generate, Nigeria may be on the road towards generating what the country needs, this will cost about $10B. This sum is in absence of operational costs like gas supply and the additional transmission lines. So you could be looking at $10+ 20B for power generation alone and maybe transmission alone! When you add other operational logistics like security(equipping all the security outfits), accommodation (900,000 standard hotel rooms), transportation( rail, road, airport), medicals, stadium. If you think Nigeria wont need more than $50B, you must be dreaming. Not when Germany spent $20B to host the event while it was 32 teams. This is a country whose infrastructure is about 200yrs more developed than Nigerias. How do you get the money to fund this project without the economy crashing? That's the question. The infrastructures you're pointing at are being done with borrowed funds while the government hopes the incurring cost could be offset by the little increase in crude oil prices. Infact, let me break it to you. By 2025, Nigeria maybe totally out of business as a result of the breakthroughs in renewable energy in the automobile industry. Wake up and smell the coffee. 4 Likes 1 Share |

It is all but confirmed that FK Ventspils's Nigerian striker Adeleke Akinyemi will depart his Latvian club before the close of the transfer window with as many as fifteen clubs interested in his signature. Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Turkish club Trabzonspor, Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, Belgian team Waasland-Beveren and Dukla Prague of the Czech Republic have opened talks with Akinyemi's bonafide representative over a transfer, apart from several Ligue 1 teams that watched him score against Bordeaux. The Scandinavian clubs in the market to sign the 20-goal striker are : IK Start (Norway), Helsingborgs IF (Sweden) and Brondby (Denmark). Maccabi Netanya have been fighting tooth and nail to sign Akinyemi, who is valued in the region of 1.5 million euros by FK Ventspils. The 19-year-old joined FK Ventspils in March 2017 and is contracted to the club until the summer of 2020. Last Thursday, Akinyemi met with the coach of the Super Eagles Rohr, who advised the teenager to remain focused and informed him that Nigerians are monitoring his performance in Europe. 1 Like |

goldfish80: Obasanjo left seat of power 10 years ago and he is nolonger in power. We do need to talk about those irrelevant past issues. Currently, I am in Lagos. Light is regulated in a way that everyone knows the exact time when light will be off or on. Have you ever seen or heard that before? No! But it is gradually happening and it will get better if the power plants projects are completed. Note, anybody can generate light by himself now. Let us see how we exploit this option to improve the light. However, Generator is an alternative to power light. EOD Since the numbers of countries going to taking part in the world cup, we can host the world cup with some west African countries including Morocco. Not necessary he host it alone. The bolded are already projects on ground. We don't need $50b to host the world cup. Ask yourself what Germany used that money for. |

forgiveness:Obasonjo is a well informed person having been president and actually ran the economy of a country. The level of Intel at his disposal cannot be waved off by anyone with a backhand. If he says $1B =1KMW then that's what it is. The improvements you're noticing in electricity is simply as a result of the raining season which coincides with the peak period and high water levels of the hydro power plants. By dry season when the water levels go down, the production output of those hydro plants will drop significantly and the national output could be hovering anywhere around 2000-3000MW. The infrastructural challenges Nigeria will have to offset just to be ready to host the world is monumental. I have been to a world cup, I understand how much hosting countries invest to get things done. This wishful thinking that Nigeria can host the world cup is akin to the emperor and his new cloths. |

Chelsea inform on their official website that highly-rated Nigerian defender Fikayo Tomori will be spending the whole of the 2018-2019 season on loan at Championship club Derby County. The Blues also announced via the press release that Tomori is now tied to the Blues until June 30, 2021 after penning a contract extension. Tomori is the sixth player to be signed by manager Frank Lampard this summer and joins another Chelsea loanee Mason Mount at Pride Park. In his first words as a Derby County player, Tomori told Rams TV: ''First of all, I am happy to be here – hopefully we can have a good year. ''I’m here to learn, I’m here to play games and I’m here to improve. I want to make the fans happy this year. ''I had some good years under Jody at Chelsea. We won the FA Youth Cup a few times, the youth Champions League, but overall, he’s just a good guy.'' The former Chelsea Academy Player of the Year has played nonstop at Chelsea for more than eleven years, though he has enjoyed loan spells at Brighton and Hull City. 1 Like |
