I agree with your thoughts but again the entire team struggled defending. Torriera is not fit enough to play 90 and even at that Arsenal needs to change shape to accommodate the wing backs that are saturating the middle of the park. I think he will come through as this a very good experience for him.

A word of advice; tell Emery that Guendouzi is not ripe enough to start these sort of matches. I focused on him all through this half and noticed that he's sluggish, lacks pace or the strength of Torreira and most annoyingly, doesn't close down opposition players to stop them from shooting. He's still young and can improve, but for now, he's below average.

Playing 2 sluggish CDM is a recipe for disaster. Only one should be operating as the CDM.

I don't know why Arsenal can't play both Laca and Auba together. 442 Diamond (4-1-2-1-2) should be their best bet. Uruguay did same with Suarez and Cavani at the worldcup and almost ran away with it. Sadly, Cavani got injured and couldn't play against France.
