I was suppose to have my visa interview last month but was turned back due to the above. I wasn't aware about GTB receipt because I paid via internet banking. For the DS-160, I also added some info few hours less than 72hours to my interview . As such I was asked to book another appointment with my MRV number which I went for on Friday(Aug 10th). You should get the receipt easily if you pay directly to the cashier in any GTB branch.

It was already late before I realized some things about funding that's why my preparation was kinda late. I will hint my bosses at the GRE thread about some of it.

How can I confirm if truly the agent has paid my visa fee

If you have a valid US visa, and get an unexpected call from the nearest US embassy or consulate asking you - politely but firmly - to bring in your passport, it’s fairly likely that your visa will be cancelled in one of those two ways. Not showing up won’t work; they will cancel it in the system anyway. Just go there and take your medicine.

2. How do one search for schools in the USA, website , scholarships?

3. How do I evaluate my WAEC result on WES platform?

4. Visa Application process

Added later: I am both famous and infamous in one consular district where I refused an F-1 to the son of a very wealthy and prominent local businessman. The boy had received a full scholarship for Harvard. Why did I refuse him? At a cocktail party a few days before the boy applied for the visa, I overheard the father bragging to his friends that his son was going to study in the US, then find a way to stay there and NEVER return home. The son applied the next day. The day after that, Harvard called to ask why he was refused. I explained it to them, and they accepted the answer immediately and very graciously.
