Coaching female teams is a different ball game my brother not because they don't want the job. Are you telling me some of our NPFL coaches would not jump at the opportunity to coach the Super Falcons team?

Coaching the female teams are a lot different from coaching male teams o.

You didn't name NPFL coaches. You said Keshi, Siasia, Oliseh, Amodu and co. Most of our coaches for the female teams have been from the NPFL and that has been were we have been going wrong. Edwin Okon's success was not a fluke. The man has coached women for years and he knows the game. You have to know the female game to be able to be successful. I will continue to say that a top coach would make Nigerian women world beaters because they are amazing athletes.

Eaglets U17 AFCON hopes shattered after 15 players fail age test, star strikers sent home

By Samm Audu -
August 14, 2018, 1:33 pm

Nigeria’s chances of shining at the forthcoming U17 AFCON zonal qualifiers in Niger Republic have suffered a major blow after at least 15 of the 40 best players failed the mandatory MRI age test just two weeks to the big kick-off.

Some feelers have even suggested that the players who failed could even be far more than officials were ready to divulge.

The players affected include four of the team’s star strikers as well as a highly-rated central defender from Plateau State, SCORENigeria has exclusively gathered.

We have further gathered that all the players have since been sent packing from the team’s training camp in Abuja.

Another set of 15 players are now to undergo the MRI scan to replace those who failed.

“It’s a devastating blow, everyone involved in the team is shocked,” an official admitted to SCORENigeria

Last year, as many as 23 players failed the age test so much so that the five-time world champions failed to qualify for the U17 AFCON in Rwanda.

Coach Manu Garba’s team are to begin their qualifying campaign on September 3 against Burkina Faso.

They are drawn in Group B along with Cote d’Ivoire and Benin Republic with only the overall winners of the seven-team qualifying competition advancing to the tournament proper in Tanzania next year.

In the 90s when we made it to the qterfinal. Twice in eight years. Whose goals toke us dia. Oliseh misiles. Adepoju bullet. And h,,, let me stop here before you floor me with ur archives lolzzzz

Icon4s:

Let me start with your last paragraph, If I hear?!
Who Yekini be? Na midfielder? Samson Siasia, Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba nko?

Talking about supplies, you expected to have created in the WC as many chance as you would create at the African qualifiers and AFCON?

Go look at the past matches we have won in the WCs and tell me how many chances were created. We were just efficient upfront in those games.
Look at even against Iceland, I don't think we created up to 4 chances all game.

That chance Ighalo had was our deciding moment of that WC.

We need to do our own localized screening before the MRI. Nigerians, we don’t like to find solutions by ourselves. We need to think think think, and we’d figure it out.

I believe there were 40 players from which the final 23 were supposed to be drawn from.

Many of the best players have been ruled out.

You dey mind Bascovanveli?

He doesn't know that armature teams are the most difficult to coach.

Let him handle an U17 team and he will respect people like Manu and Amuneke.

I am a certified coach, I know what I am talking about.

Then how come other countries are playing like they have a coach? Are they not also females? Stop making excuses for poor coaching.

This mistake was repeated last year...why MRI test at the end? Why not at the beginning..before all those friendlies they were walloping teams up and down? MRI test comes after picking your team, just before friendlies...

Exclusive – Wolfsburg Victor Osimhen Arrives Belgium To Seal Loan Move To Club Brugge

August 14, 2018

Former U17 World Youth Championship ‎top scorer Victor Osimhen is in Belgium to conclude a loan move to champions Club Brugge, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Osimhen has failed to make progress at German side Wolfsburg since his move to the team shortly after his exploits at the Under-17 World Youth Championship in 2015.

A loan move has been agreed as the best for him to get his career started and after failing to bag a deal at Zulte-Waregem due to concerns over his fitness, he has arrived Belgium to join Club Brugge on loan till the end of the season.

It’s still unclear if there’s a provision for him to make the move permanent but the club might likely announce his capture later today with all details after a routine medical this morning in Belgium.

Club Brugge presently have Nigerian forward Dennis Bonaventure on their books as well as Dutch-Nigerian forward Arnaut Groeneveld Danjuma.

PHOTO: Alex Iwobi makes Nollywood debut

Published 3 hours ago on August 14, 2018

Sources are claiming that Super Eagles and Arsenal football club player, Alex Iwobi, is starring in a yet to be released Nollywood movie.

The Arsenal forward, who is ready for the new Premier League season, allegedly took acting classes to properly prepare for his performance in the movie. While many of his football fans are concerned that the movie role may affect his game during the season, insider sources claim that the filming for the movie rounded up weeks ago and the project is in the final stages of post-production.

While there are slim to no details about the movie released to the public, it has been gathered that action flick will find Iwobi taking on the role of a heroic character.

There are said to be a number of stunts in the movie by Iwobi and a stunt double, It is unclear whose decision it was to keep Iwobi’s alleged involvement in the movie a secret but the football player reportedly has no problem with it.

Here’s what an inside source had to say about it: “Iwobi is a very simple guy. He wanted to work on the project away from the public eye so he would have enough time to focus on making his major acting debut a great one. He likes to dedicate himself wholly to any project he does and this was no different”.

Principal photography is said to have ended as the movie’s first teaser is set to be released soon. This would be Iwobi’s very first acting role in a major production

On the MRI revelation, I was expecting some especially among the key players to fail that test. So it is no surprise to me. But what I do care about is the timing of this. We should have done this since two months now and not in August with our first game coming up on September 3rd against Burkina faso.

So many reports, but 15 is the highest reported. Among the key players of the team's core, about Five were affected from what reports said. And the team still played a friendly after that and won 11-0. The situation is what it is and I hope Manu and his crew can quickly readjust the team's shape ahead of Sept.3.

Meanwhile, there are reports that from among the dropped 20 from the intially planned 60 for the test, 15 will be made to undergo the test to see if some of the disqualified players can be replaced.

But again, I saw another report that says the team's list is meant to be submitted soon this week.

In all, the build-up to the Regional qualifiers have not been smooth and the NFF crisis is really bad timing for this team. Time will tell anyway.

Sir Bascovanveli, On Emeka Umeh... Believe me when I tell you that I personally know the lad.

I know so much about him. But let me just say this...

He is a big talent. A genuine article as I have seem him play and interacted with him even. But he is certainly not 18. I pray he tears things up at Trencin. He has the talents to make such impact and more.

We need to keep our eyes on Gavin Bazunu. I trust he has been reported here in one of the news posts shared by Charlesemeka85.

He has a Nigerian Father and Irish Mother. A special talent he is between the sticks and is being chased by Man City big time!!!

He has even featured in the early rounds of the Europa league for shamrock rovers and it was in Europe that the young man conceeded his first goal as a pro... He is just 16 and just recently won the Player of the month award in the Irish Pro league.

Yes...the MRI test should have been done as early as possible...so that age issue is treated early...I do not think the crisis in NFF contributed to it because they were already in camp before the latest saga
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 9:32pm On Aug 14, 2018
They were in camp but even Manu Garba cried out for the MRI screening a few months before. And they initially planned to screen 60 but NFF said 40... They cited cash issues. Truth is the U-17 team haven't exactly had the best of attention due to the focus of the NFF at the Russia 2018 WC and then followed by the timing of the NFF crisis. Its many twists and turns are annoying.

Rasheedat Ajibade has been average at the World Cup.

She has simply underperformed.

The entire team lacks a leader.

The Goalkeeper Chiamaka is the only revelation of this tournament.

Finally, the Duru of a girl is no footballer. She is the weakest link in the defense. Always interested in using her head than her feet...

I say the coach restores this set of players...
