Someone on ground said 12. 7 failed MRI, 5 were sent home due to discrepancies on their passport. I did see some suspicious players sha

You would think Manu Garba would at least bother to find players that "look" U17, considering he's done this before

When it comes to Nigerian under 17 reports, very few are as close to the team as Samm Audu.

Keep your eyes peeled also for a certain Mujaid Sadick Aliu at Deportivo La Coruna. He was involved in a couple of preseason games with the first team too. He is a defender. A right back who can also adapt as a Centre back.

He is 18. Born in 2000. Have featured twice for Spain U-17s and once for Spain U-18s. Born in Spain. Handed no.17 for Deportivo...

It is not that easy. Looks can be deceptive.

There are other ways to verify though.

@ Sir Bascovanveli, the truth of the matter is that Nigeria Football is nothing to write home about... The recent inability of our local players (NPFL boys) to secure a deal at Europe backwater clubs in Backwater leagues is the effect of the lack of organization and quality back home.

No one rates Nigeria football except Nigerians. Even our so called pros are only justling between mid table teams across Europe. Watching the Liverpool team that comprises of Mane(Senegal), Salah(Egypt) and the new boy Keita(Mali)... I asked myself this brutal question.:
Who among Nigeria Players both home and abroad can play in this team? I looked near and far, up and down, sincerely yours, there was none.

The only thing still working for our boys is the fact that a certain generation of Nigerian players (The Jay Jay's, Kanus, Amuneke, Oliseh, Yeking, etc) have done well and hoisted the flag of the nation in the commuties of Football nations.

There is no longer regard for our footballers even on the continent..

Very soon, If care is not taken, NPFL highest Goal Scorer will go to MALI for trials before signing a deal.

Make I stop here. So much for the Giant of Africa (Football).

Ajibade has made her debut for the super falcons with hattrick in wafu cup she is also won the best player in the Nigerian league she is the star girl in the local scene she should be at AWCON 2018 and 2019 world cup

Well I didn't watch that France friendly so I didn't know Nnadozie made her debute. So well, if I may rephrase, hahaha, from those that are yet to get the invite to the Main Super Falcons team, Ajibade has the brightest chance.

And i hope she shows her true class as the tournament progresses.

Nigerian football is now in the Post-Russia Era and I hope our players can only get better from this 2018/2019 season onwards... Hoping to see a very good majority of our Nigerian talents shine compared to the number that will likely flop.

According to Transfermarkt, these are the top 20 most valuable Nigerian Players in world football. Naby Keita, Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane command Transfermarkt valuations of €65 million, €150million, and €70million respectively. It is well...

The Nigerian Top 20 most valuable (Transfermarkt)

(Unsurprisingly, Ndidi leads the way....)

1. Wilfred Ndidi-21 (Defensive Midfield) 25,00 Mill. €

2. Victor Moses-27 (Right Midfield) 20,00 Mill. €

3. Ahmed Musa-25 (Centre-Forward) 15,00 Mill. €

4. Alex Iwobi- 22 (Left Winger) 15,00 Mill. €

5. Kelechi Iheanacho-21 (Centre-Forward) 15,00 Mill. €

6. Henry Onyekuru-21 (Left Winger) 10,00 Mill. €

7.Odion Ighalo- 29 (Centre-Forward) 9,50 Mill. €

8. Moses Simon-23 (Left Winger) 6,00 Mill. €

9.Chidozie Awaziem- 21 (Centre-Back) 6,00 Mill. €

10. John Mikel Obi- 31(Defensive Midfield) 5,50 Mill. €

11. Sone Aluko-29 (Second Striker) 5,00 Mill. €

12. Joel Obi-27 (Central Midfield) 5,00 Mill. €

13. Samuel Kalu-20 (Right Winger) 5,00 Mill. €

14. Emmanuel Dennis-20 (Centre-Forward) 5,00 Mill. €

15. Uche Agbo- 22 (Defensive Midfield) 3,50 Mill. €

16. Olarenwaju Kayode-25 (Centre-Forward) 3,00 Mill. €

17. Ogenyi Onazi-25 (Defensive Midfield) 3,00 Mill. €

18. Anderson Esiti-24 (Defensive Midfield) 3,00 Mill. €

19. Aminu Umar- 23 (Left Winger) 3,00 Mill. €

20. Peter Olayinka- 22 (Centre-Forward) 2,50 Mill. €

Hoping to see the market valuations of our Nigerian players rise from this 2018/2019 season onwards. Inspite of all our problems (administrative and more) as a football Nation, I am still banking on the wind of positivity sweeping through this post-Russia era as our team under Rohr will begin the next advanced stage of taking shape as a football force.

Why can't the NPFL clubs sign some of the U17 players that the MRI scan deemed overage ? Those players would add some quality to our moribund league.

This is because you are only looking at the basics. Osimhen just failed trials in a lower Zlute a lower club in Belgium but now going to giants club brugge in that same Belgium. What should that tell us? Just because you are not signed on trials doesn't make you a bad player.

You guys talk about Lokosa and guys we just found out about but overlook guys like Eze, Aremu, Akas, Nwobodo, Azango, Ifeanyi Matthew and Odey playing each week in Europe.

Great idea but they would rather go back to their academies and go for occasional trials abroad. I know NPFL clubs try to sign some and they refuse.

As regards Osimhen, some of the reports in the Belgian media suggest that he did not fail the trials at Zulte Waregem but there were concerns about his fitness and injury record. They did not want to sign an injury prone player.

Playing in Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, Norway and Switzerland should not be a big deal for top Nigerian players if the home structures were right. Odey, Lokosa, Okpotu, Tosin Omoyele.. all top strikers in the league have failed trials in less fancied leagues in recent times.

A player from Latvia is moving to the same club in Norway that Afeez Aremu went straight from the NPFL to and you came here to tell us about it so what changed?

You can say what you want but we dam sure are not talking Bangladesh or Indonesia they are starters in respectable leagues.

I think Yekini is the only major striker from the Nigerian league that has torn up Europe so this is not new. Unless we learn that being a striker is not only about goals they will keep on failing trials IMO. I can probably name 5 strikers i the league that would easily get signed on trials but they are less fancied in the league and have been brainwashed into thinking they lack quality because they don't score bunch of goals.

Osimhen. This was a player some were already reserving the number 9 jersey for, even before he signed a professional contract.

Look at Iheanacho too. At 22 we are still looking for a system that suits him.

The earlier we stop overrating U17 achievements the better for us.

CD Leganés and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the temporary transfer of Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo.

The versatile central defender will wear the jersey of Los Pepineros until June 30, 2019, with the La Liga side holding the option to buy him outright next summer.

CD Leganés confirmed the signing of Omeruo on Tuesday during the team's presentation ahead of their first competitive game of the season against Athletic Club.

This is the sixth consecutive season that Omeruo will be loaned out by Chelsea, having had previous stints with ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa (2) and Alanyaspor.

The 24-year-old has represented Nigeria at the Fifa U17 and U20 World Cups, played at two Fifa World Cups and Confederations Cup, and was a member of the Super Eagles team that won the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

Omeruo has played 154 senior games for his clubs since turning professional, scoring 4 goals.

Zambia FA organised MRI in June/July. Early screening can help you remove the overaged and still give you time to prepare a team.

We waited till the last minute.

Can't the coaches do a proper screening process without MRI. We can reduce the headache of this, every year.

I have had people attack me with vitriolic rhetoric and disgusting abuse on this matter.

We are a country ruled mainly by thieves and liars that's unfortunately reflects us. It is often said the rulers if a country reflect the people of a country.

If there is an opportunity to age cheat 90% of our footballers will do so. Integrity and honesty are no longer regarded as virtues that's how low we have become.

We have our youths involved in the most satanic and perverse activities for the sake of money. Ritual killings, etc

Because we didn't not have AUTOMATIC BIRTH DATA CAPTURE. We have to rely on the integrity of people in a nation where there is none. People's definition of integrity and honesty is so warped that nothing is spared. We have so called Church CEO or popularly called GO's, Bishops and Men of God. Who are without integrity.

Is anybody shocked about the MRI failure rate ❓ Add to that that there is still a gap of error in accuracy that allows possible 21 year olds to be classed as U17. Tells us the problem is reducing but very far off from being totally eradicated.

One thing I do know if you are unfit on a trial you have FAILED. You simply can not compete. And so if you are competing and you can not even keep up with the standard, how on earth are you supposed to stand out.
