The problem about we pro igbos from anioma is that we are not loud enough like the ones that deny their identity.

If someone like Oliseh can come out and say he is not Igbo then we also need someone that is pro Igbo like uti nwachukwu or don jazzy to come loud and shout he is Igbo.

We need the pro Igbo celebrities and influential people from anioma to do more.

With the actions of Duncan mighty you can see how he is telling the world how proudly Igbo he is..
We need more of his kind in delta and rivers state respectively

Well, you can't really blame Odenigbo Aroli, most of us have seen pepper and humiliation at the hands of these Anioma people. It's not easy at all overlooking it all.
I personally welcome them individually if they reach out to me. , but as a rule of thumb, I deny them as group,to avoid being denied by them first.

Having said this, those of them in this thread are Igbo loving, so we must welcome and accord them all the full benefit they deserve as bona-fide Igbos.

Personally, if I'm to draw an Igbo map today, I wouldnt include ika, Ndokwa, Ikwerre, Etche, Ekpeye, Ndoni, Ogba, to avoid giving unnecessary relevance to Igbophobic entities in their midst. However, should any one from those places embrace his Igboness, Ndiigbo must embrace such persons back and treat them as Igbos they are.

Let's draw inspiration from Germans, who despite the fact that Austrians refused to be part of Germany, Germans embraced an Austrian called Hitler, who embraced his German roots, up-to to the point that he became a German national leader.

Austria didn't need to be part of Germany for Hitler to become Germany leader, once he showed patroitism towards Germany, he was accepted as a German.

Likewise, Ika, Ikwerre, Ndokwa need not to become parts of Igboland, for people like Osita Mordi( Ika) Uche Okwukwu(Ikwerre), Chukwuneku(Ndokwa/Ukwuani), to become bona-fide Igbo leaders, seeing as these men had demonstrated impeccable patroitism to the Igbo nation.

Ogba continued to claim non Igbo, yet Ndiigbo chose An Ogba man, Ogbuehi Francis Ellah, who showed unmistakable patroitism towards his Igbo root, to represent Ndiigbo in the national conference in 2005.

And they come from igbo land and not the other way round but this thread was meant for pics about development in igbo land and now we are here again talking about history

To be honest, apart from royalty, NdiAniocha and Oshimili are totally different from those Benin people. Eze Chima is believed to have come from Agbor by some people while others believe he came from Arochukwu and some said he came from Benin. I fully disagree with the Benin story because Eze is an Igbo title while Chima is an Igbo name, both have nothing to do with Benin.

I'm still viewing Duncan mighty Igbo affinity with suspicion.
Many of his Ikwerre people believe he identifies as Igbo because he wants to have access to the Igbo market, to further his music career, which has worked so far.

Many people from Ika, Ikwerre, Etche, Ogba, Ekpeye, Ndoni are "opportunistic Igbos".
They only become Igbo when doing so gives them advantage, and they quickly reverse to the default setting of their people, when the advantage is no longer there. I view Chibuike Amaechi in this light.
On the contrary, men like Osita, Okwukwu, Chukwuneku, are genuine Igbos.

However, this below are quite good pics from Duncan Wene Mighty .

In the Igboid areas of Rivers and Delta state, there are four categories of people.

1. The Igbophobic group. This group are very violent, vocal and rabidly Igbo hating, they all as a rule of thumb, have affinity to Bini origin stories.
As a rule, once you see any Igboid parroting Bini origin stories, know for certain you are dealing with a person with tendency of either being a member of this group already , or a potential member. Agbontae( Mgbejume), Nkechi Bianze, etc, epitomizes this group

2. The pro autonomy groups.
These groups want their local governments to be independent ethnic groups, and not associated with Ndiigbo. They see association with Ndiigbo as acceptance of a phantom Igbo hegemony over them, or acceptance of imaginary subservience to SE. They have a degree of Igbo hate, but not as obvious and rabid as the first group.
They don't necessary like Bini, but they see Bini stories as a means of emphasising their difference from SE, hence justifying their independent ethnic nationalities.
When you hear things like "Ika is Ika", Etche is Etche", etc.
Know you are dealing with this group. Many of the leaders of political and traditional institutions In Igboid areas, fall into this group.

3. The opportunistic Igbos. These ones claim Igbo when doing so gives them s leverage/advantage. Their Igbo identity is highly volatile and determined by events and opportunities to be grabbed around them. They are usually neither here nor there.
This particular group, we must avoid and always deny violently, their leeching unto our Igbo tag. I strongly believe Amaechi Chibuike fall into this group.

4. The genuine Igbos. No need explaining this group. Uche Okwukwu, Late Ogbuehi Francis Ellah, Late Achuzia, epitomizes this very group.
They are the ones we should be embracing .
Bad thing is that this group are but a dying breed faced with extinction in the Igboid areas. You find them mainly amongst the elderly groups and not youths.

lol. This is the ignorant attitude I was talking about earlier. Even the Obi of Onitsha and Nnamdi Azikwe said that Onitsha was created by Eze Chima, a prince from Benin who also created Issele uku. The Obi of Onitsha as well the Obis of other Anioma communities get crowned by the Oba of Benin or his representatives from Benin that is why most Anioma people claim they originated from Benin but, some of them are still of the opinion that they originated from NRI, claiming that Eze Chima was an Igbo man not a Benin prince and this has been the argument in Anioma for several decades. Only the Aniocha, Oshimili and Onitcha people seem to have accepted their Igboness and have incorporated much of the Igbo tradition into the Benin tradition thereby relegating the Benin tradition to only royalty.

I dont care what Zik says or any ignorant Obi, my point is that its about time we start facing reality and stop living in delusion. These Anioma ffools hate Igbos more than the Yorubas. They only claim Igbo when it suits them. Like Pazie rightly put, these people are unstable and that is very dangerous for Igbo advancement.

Nwa Okodu jirikwa nwayo! We may be at the risk of painting everyone with same brush and I must state that Igbo rennaisance is the highest level now more than ever before. Who could have thought that an Ikwerre man will be the Secretary General of Ohaneze in an era like ours. I saw the video of Omu Anioma when she came with her courtesans at the Ala Igbo Development event and that singular act broke hitherto fallow grounds. Lots more are happening on the positive side of Igbo integration even as the mad ones are still roaming wild. For instance, some of my closest friends are Ikas from Umunede specifically and we are completely and basically Igbo. Never have the question of their Igboness ever arose. Infact, one of them,a woman who is also a medical doctor based in London is one of the Organisers of summer Igbo language classes! Can you beat that?! For purpose of confidentiality, there are many of such I won't mention here. At least, one of the most learned Igbo historian of this generation is Chief Osita Mordi and he is Ika! Recall it was also Professor Onwuejiogwu that gave the closest details of Igbo histories of many Anioma towns. My point is this is time to get positive and shun the divisive elements among us.
