1. You earned far less than us in tourism.

2. FDi is pouring to tanzania than in ur kenya.I know it hurts u..but thats life; a bitter pill to swallow hey

1. because our tourism sector was devasted by waves of terror attacks by the Somalia's Al shabaab militants. But Kenya's tourism prior to the terror attacks was among the big 4 in Africa.

2. And isnt Kenya among the top four biggest investors in Tanzania? Kenya and South Africa have invested in sectors such as retail, banking, insurance, hotels, manufacturing etc, unlike the the Uk, China and Canada who are only there to exploit your mineral and gas. A huge bulk of fdi ic concentrated in the mining sector, which u have in very big quantities, second only to the DRC, yet you are listed among the world's poorest and least developed countries.

Hurt in what?stick to your useless ignorance, you think you know everything yet you absolutely know nothing.
Those FDI which you claim to be picking up in Tanzania,Kenya is among them being among your biggest FDI.
Tanzania might have alot of revenues from the tourism more than Kenya, those figures just changed in 2018 unlike before where you people have been trailing behind us since time immemorial.
Kenya still has a lot of tourism destination sites and beautiful sceneries than Tanzania many times.

Actually, Kenya has more revenue than Tanzania in tourism. The figures they keep throwing around are figures for direct impact on GDP for Tz and figures for actual revenue for Kenya. I debunked them sometime back on Jamii Forums.

This will be the longest thread on Africa's cyberspace! Its directly due to the very real Borderline Personality Disorder of many nairalanders you may have noticed on ToT with the obsessive insistence on 'self esteem,' screaming and throwing things whenever they feel slighted by reality.
Here are the commonest BPD signs:

Having an unstable or dysfunctional self-image or a distorted sense of self (how one feels about one’s self)
Feelings of isolation, boredom and emptiness
Difficulty feeling empathy for others
A history of unstable relationships that can change drastically from intense love and idealization to intense hate
A persistent fear of abandonment and rejection, including extreme emotional reactions to real and even perceived abandonment
Intense, highly changeable moods that can last for several days or for just a few hours
Strong feelings of anxiety, worry and depression
Impulsive, risky, self-destructive and dangerous behaviors, including reckless driving, drug or alcohol abuse and having unsafe sex
Hostility

This is why when UN Habitat head Prof Johnson Bade Falane with over a decade experience as Naij country head unequivocally states the truth
THE STATISTICS ACCORDING TO HIM SHOWED THAT,LOW FIGURE FOR GDP PER CAPITA INCOME OF $1,154

AS FAR BACK AS 2011 THEY FLEE IN ANGUISH AND RETURN WITH DENIAL,DELUSION AND VITUPERATION. Since then they've entered a recession, they claim to have recovered from and sneer at us. Its a pathology common to many;fyi,I had a nephew in one of the UKs top public schools and his Ibo classmate would always tease him about Kibera! Good manners and ignorance prevented him from responding about Makoko you may have seen on thread.
Apart from the clinical BPD on display here there's some very real new info I've learned and I CAN SAY WITH CONFIDENCE OUR GROWTH IS AS REAL AS IT IS UNDERCOVER WHICH WILL KEEP OFF WESTERN FALSE FLAGS AND PROXY WARFARE TO SABOTAGE US. By 2040 barring any major accidents or sabotage we'll be the biggest GDP here-FACT!?

Precisely. Kenya has always received more tourist than TZ - save for the 2 years when Alshabab terror was out of control - otherwise Kenya on average receive about double the tourist the lazy ujamaa undugu TZ receives...

Oh, Kikuyu1, you finally found enough materials to post a rejoinder 48hrs after acknowledging reading my honest and factual exposé on Little India's economy. But despite the long time it took you to compose a rejoinder, you still failed to do justice to it. At least I salute your courage and patriotism. Africa needs more people like you. grin. I digress. To the points! Firstly, you signed a deal to revive your defunct shipping line. I think we should see it in operation first before you start rejoicing. Besides, national shipping lines are no longer in vogue. Such sectors of the economy are best left in private hands. I am disappointed you could praise such a move and believe it could help your economy. Your polithiefians have taken you for a ride again. grin.
And shipping like everything else in Little India is controlled by foreigners. Take a look at this:

https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/article/2001231921/sea-workers-petition-parliament-over-exploitation-by-shipping-firms
At the same time, KSCA, the sector's lobby
group, also wants Parliament to enact laws to
bar foreign shipping lines from opening
subsidiary firms, which it said have edged out
Kenyan-owned ship contractors.

What again did you talk about? Our overzealous IBO brothers getting arrested in Little India. Yes it happens. The Igbos are a great tribe but they've got their bad apples like everyone else. Just like you've got some of your bad apples in Tanzania and Somalia.
What else did you talk about? Yeah, I got it. You talked about becoming Africa's biggest economy I. the future. Never gonna happened. I listed the reasons for you 48hrs ago and you promised to address them only for you to start posting pictures of Nigerian bad apples. Again, a country can never be rich selling flowers and avocados. You need serious manufacturing and financial muscles. Look at your useless banks for example. They should be everywhere like the Nigerian banks. These small steps matter when you place. to dominate and grow. And you failed to address your crippling debt issue. That debt issue alone will stop you from growing at about 60% of your GDP. And over 50% of your tax revenue go into paying debt. Kolewerk, like we say in naija. Your corruption is another problem. A third of your budget is stollen every year and bribery and cronyism is rife. Look at what this hallowed Little Indian has to say about your corruption:

That was Philip Kinisu talking. He should know. Tanzania and Ethiopia are already edging you out economically in East Africa. Can you see that you need to do a lot if your dream of becoming Africa's biggest economy is to materialize in the next 100 years. grin

Frankly, your persistence fraudulence and inability to interpret simple data isn't important or interesting enough for me to change my Sunday plans. Tbh,you may be right and while our leaders aren't saints who recognise the highest political levels want this project to succeed and
they're angels compared to your own cannibals.

I doubt you even listen to your own incessant outpourings-ISN'T THAT WHY THE GOV'T IS INTERVENING? You've lived so long without functional gov't you don't understand its primary function which is neither an employment bureau or executive pork barrel agency.

Modern governments are expected to create the conditions for economic growth and material prosperity. While not all governments do this successfully, it is a function assumed in mod
https://dlc.dcccd.edu/usgov1-1/functions-of-government

That's why you're indig shipping is in even worse shape than ours-AS USUAL!

aptain Emmanuel Iheanacho, the former Minister of of Interior and former Vice President of the Shipowners Association of Nigeria (SAN) has expressed concerns that Ind..., Greek and Lebanese expatriates are dominating Nigeria’s coastal shipping business. According to Iheanecho, this contradicts the Coastal and Inland Shipping Act (Cabotage), which endeavours to protect and profit Nigerian citizens who own ships......Earlier this year, in April, reports indicated that the Federal Government loses N1.8 trillion yearly by not doing business with indigenous ship chandlers.

[/url]

We could pretend to be a 'Giant,' and suffer the annual opportunity costs-but that's not the Kenyan way! We start from the bottom with gov't support knowing full well the challenges.
We gave you the downlow on our banks before!

You know that is not true - the difference btw GT - and KCB - is mere 3-4B dollars - and at KCB growth rate of 25% - and GTBANK zero (if not worse - I know in Kenya they are burning money like all Nigeria banks in Kenya- ECOBANK etc) - then by time they do calculation for this year - maybe KCB bank will be bigger than GTB.

Our banks and financial sector have UNHEARD OF GROWTH RATES with the highest ROI anywhere!!

As of 2017 - KCB was about $9B dollars in assets & Equity at 7B - and was only below 4 nigeria banks - who are howevering around $12B(AccessBank), $13B(GTBank),$14B(FirstBank) and 21$(Zenith).

Now if you check the growth rate of kenya banks - KCB (grew by 25% - Equity 12%) - then without doubt you know in 2018-2020 - Both Equity and KCB(most definitely) - will be better than all Nigeria banks - SAVE for Zenith Bank. The kenya bank growth is solid...amongst the highest global growth rate the last many years.

So KCB by this year if it's grows at 20-25% - will obviously overtake ACESS and GTBANK smiley - and by 2019 - FirstBank - and then 2 more years - and Zenith Bank will be seeing KCB back - and Equity - and lot more like Cooperative Bank of Kenya (who already joined the global 1000 banks)

Dangoteland Total Banking Assets are merely 90 bn$,ours 40$ bn. PER CAPITA WE'RE WAYYYY ABOVE YOU AS USUAL! Fyi,RSA has 300 bn$ TBA. Maybe one of your brain trust can unpack the relevance of that just for you.
Yes,corruption is a problem. Only a delusional Dangotelander would deny that but btw,as our economy grows so does our borrowing capacity-we can successfully trade debt for infrastructure development. Life is a series of trade offs. You chose the best option.

It would help if had basic economic knowledge cause then you'd know Ethopians are 100 m+ and their birr is hugely overvalued.

Almost all multilateral finance institutions were in tandem warning Ethiopian authorities about the Birr, which weighted against a basket of major currencies is overvalued. The IMF has its experts zooming in their estimates in private conversations that the Birr is up by 40pc, but the officials say it is overvalued by 30pc.

A journey of less than 200 km took us 6 hours. I said to myself this is a dead giant which is decane and maggots are coming out. I won't even be surprised if it is a Kenyan that came here to write all this. No body is dragging anything with you people. We are who we are deal with it NIGERIA 4LIFE MHENNN
TonyeBarcanista:
I am saddened by the continuous act of some of my compatriots to always engage in social media fight with fellow Africans, most notably our brothers and sisters from Ghana and Kenya.

It is even unfortunate that these countries Nigeria youths love to abuse on social media are doing better than our potentially great country in virtually all sphere despite the fact that we(as a country) have more revenues, potentials, and opportunities. If Nigerians are not aware of the superiority(in terms of living) of other Africans over us, I will have to educate them using Kenya as a case study.

While Nigerians have always pride in the self titled "African Giant" rhetoric, facts on ground shows otherwise. Though we generate more revenue than Kenya, which is 70% due to the gift of nature under our soil(Petrodollars), Nigerians still lag behind greatly in basic things when compared to the East African giant.

According to 2015 data from World Health Organisation, Nigeria's male and female life expectancy are 52years and 56 years respectively, meaning an average Nigerian is expected to die before he/she turns 60. Meanwhile, the expectancy for Kenyan male and female are 61 and 66 years respectively. Similarly, while Nigeria has the 10th highest infant mortality rate worldwide with average 72 deaths per 1,000 birth, Kenya's infant mortality rate is rated 52nd in the world with average 32 deaths per 1,000 births. This means it is safer to give birth in Kenya than in Nigeria, and an average Kenyan living in Kenya is expected to live longer than an average Nigerian living in Nigeria.

Though Nigeria has more tourism potential than Kenya, but Kenya is one of the choice destination for vacation in East Africa. While Nigeria managed to rake in $601 million as Tourism receipt(Revenue) in 2014, Kenya raked in $1.833 billion in the same year. Nigeria can't even boast of a National carrier meanwhile Kenya Airways, the National Carrier of Kenya boasts of 45 Aircrafts in their fleet with 4,000 workforce strength. In addition, Kenya Airways is reputed to be one of the best in Africa.

In Africa, Kenya is the leader of Mobile money. Nigeria is still still battling to get it right in the ICT sector with poor infrastructure, lack of power, lack of political will, and fantastically corruption.

At present Nigeria is experiencing recession in her economy, one would expect Nigerians to shun frivolties and seek for ways to turn the recession to prosperity instead of wasting productive hours fighting our African brethren over irrelevances. Why would one who is rationing his/her phone battery life due to epileptic power supply still spend the little battery life s/he got through his/her generator to abuse someone in Nairobi who is neither rationing his/her phone battery life nor is depending on generating set for power? There is no trophy or reward for social media fight, Nigerians should stop sending the wrong image to the world that our greatness lies in social media wars.

Nigeria is a great country with potentials, filled with great prospects, but we can never be great if we don't channel our time and resources to fix our country.

A word should be enough for the wise... May God Bless Us All, and Bless Nigeria

No. Still hasn't register which time you're talking about.
And no, my friend, autonomy and independence are not the same thing in politics. Hong Kong, Macau, Tibet, Catalonia, the Basque country, Scotland, Dubai, the Palestinian territories, Chechnya etc are autonomous. They are not independent. I don't care to distract myself in a tedious back-and-forth explaining the finer details of the difference just to satisfy your pedantry.

No, my friend. There is absolute squat that Taiwanese "envy" about China. They certainly fear China's expansionist agenda, but they don't give a shiit about China. It's the reverse instead: China are obsessed with Taiwan when Taiwan has long moved on from historical events. This is why they fear the threat of China. Envying a country because of its geopolitical power is just a vanity trip driven by nationalism. Taiwanese have no reason to envy China because smaller nations aren't driven by nationalistic egos. It's the Chinas and Russias and Irans and Nigerias of the world who are obsessed with such vanities.

On the premise that I was born, raised and lived here my whole life to see for myself the deep rot in every sector. Anyone who has done business in this country can attest to the bureaucratic maze he has to navigate in bribes and kickbacks. A few months ago, I reported a case of impersonation and fraud to the police, and despite parting with N50,000 just to even open the case at their Festac division office, there was no traction at all as the clowns told me I have to sponsor officers on a trip to Delta to nab the perpetrator that they identified after a petition to MTN who tracked the fraudster - which would have set me back another N200k. My brother and I could write an entire book on our experiences with deep malfeasance in the Nigerian police alone. Infact, because of his own experience with the police in a scam case that he is still pursuing today after 8 years and hundreds of thousands spent seeking justice, he advised me not to open my case at the police, but I ignored him and regretted it. This is just the police alone.
So yeah, my premise is based on my experiences.

obaaderemi:
You really should be ashamed of this post, bro. I
gave you 4icu which placed five Nigerian
universities above anything Kenyan except UoN, you
claimed the ranking was not good enough since it
didn't favour the Kenyans. You suggested Times
Higher Education ranking, I gave you the 2018
ranking where one of the Nigerian universities you
claimed are hellholes and always ranked behind
Kenyan universities- tied at number 11 with Kenya's
best university. You felt bad and had to fish out a
2016 ranking in your spirited bid to discredit
Nigeria. Na wa o. It's best to leave you to your
conscience and quit responding to you. Once again,
Na wa o.

Are you still denying the fact I once dealt with you on your disgraceful prejudicial comments? There you have it in black, white and green complete with date. grin
And I don't know how you can compare Hong Kong/Taiwan with enclaves such as Catalonia, Chechnya and even Scotland which just got its Parliament in 1999.grin. Heck, those countries don't even have their own national currencies. Meanwhile Taiwan and Hong Kong are economic giants. Taiwan on its part until recently preferred to be called Republic of China and today, many of its young people prefer to leave Taiwan to go and seek employment in China. grin And yet according to you Hong Kong and Taiwan want nothing to do with China. Like I enlightened you earlier, the stumbling block is a case of history. Those guys who run Taiwan are Chinese but would tell you otherwise out of pride. Sooner or later they would go back into China's warm embrace. Things are changing in the Orient, my brother. And your reason for saying "..it's impossible for any other country in the world to be more corrupt than Nigeria".. is both risible and silly in equal measures. grin I asked you how many other African countries have you experienced life in and then you typed a long winded narration about your experience with Nigerian police. Have you experienced Somali, Ugandan, Kenyan, Eritrean, Pakistani and Bangladeshi police--to name a few? It shows your deep rooted hatred for your own country. Anyway, that's your own brouhaha. Nigeria is in a mess but I repeat its not all gloom and chaos. There is progress and development as well. And the kind of opportunities that are hard to see in other African countries.
