I couldn't figure out the wow factor in the movie,it's topping the worst movie I watched this year

One word. Rihanna. She ruined the whole thing for me. She's a decent enough pop singer, but a terrible actor. She should stick to singing. I hate this culture of popular singers landing acting gigs, as if having a good voice completely translates to having adequate acting skills. Sandra Bullock tried her best to anchor the movie the best she could, but Riha-frigging-nna was a total wrecking ball.

I always have some actors in my blacklist,Sandra is one of them. For that even if she try in the film I won't still like it

The ring I saw was the one of 2002, but that was way long ago. Am not into the horror genre especially the demon possession aspect, though I do bizarre creatures like zombies & vampires.

Zombie movies are mostly boring tbh. Except for the few like Zombieland, World War Z, and Contagion.

She was the standout star of the film. Why don't you like her?

her face maybe grin and I grew up watching horror, action and adventure. So when I see her I know the movie won't be interesting cheesy.
I am the type that stick to what I believe, I started watching sci-fi movies recently cos of altered carbon.

There are people that love Tyler Perry movies like mad (looking at you, Ishilove). Acrimony may not have set the world alight, but for all intents and purpose, it was a commercial success. And considering that it only cost 20 millions after tax to produce and distribute, the generic content is a good value for money.

The director of Upgrade impressed the hell outa me that I had to look him up after the fact. He's a talented director that have an history of turning low-budget movies into blockbusters. His list of filmography include the original SAW (easily the best of the whole franchise), Dead Silence (One of the best horror of all time), Insideous chapter two and three. The dude has yet again made a strong case for himself with Upgrade, and is long overdue for a high-budget movie.

With such incredible array of fantastic movies in his repertoire, I wonder why top movie production companies like 20 Century Fox, Universal Studios and co haven't signed him up to direct a high-budget movie. His Movie CV is damn impressive.

They will come calling, eventually.

Am I the only one here who hasn't seen the lord of the rings trilogy, honestly the size of that movie alone discourages me, Who see's a single movie for 3hours+.

Best trilogy ever. Better than the novels. It had Orcs, Dwarfs, Elves, Humans, Ghosts, Wizards, Gollum, Hobbits, Waifs, Trolls, etc. The time will fly by so fast that you'd wish the movies were longer.

MOVIES WITH MEMORABLE UNEXPECTED ENDINGS

*Contain some spoilers*

- I Am Legend: When Will Smith's character finally realized he was the monster, and not the vampires he ruthlessly hunted and killed for so long.
- The 6th sense: I didn't see it coming. M. Night Shyamalan at your service.
- The Departed: The ending shocked me. Three times in quick succession.
- 10 Cloverfield Lane: Had me guessing until the end. I was like, maybe he's crazy or maybe he's telling the truth? Turns out he was both.
- Momento: Didn't anticipate the ending... (the beginning?) at all.
- Sorry To Bother You: Yup. Movie basically just goes "F**k your expectations". Hardest curveball I’ve ever seen in a movie.
- No Country for Old Men: It actually confuses you at first, like there was an editing mistake in ending it like that. Until you realize that the main character was just as insignificant in the end as anyone else.
- The Usual Suspect: The ending threw me.
- Enders Game: I was like wtf?! The ending came as a massive shock to me.
- Se7en: The final scene was horrifying, but amazing at the same time.
- The Others: I never saw that coming. Night Shyamalan-esque.
- Gone Girl: The ending wasn't the ending: it was a second act twist that led to another 20 minutes of craziness.
- SAW: The first one. The "dead" guy in the middle of the bathroom was Jigsaw.
- The Mist: The ending was heartbreaking. They should have waited a minute longer. Woulda Coulda Shoulda...
- Tropic Thunder: Not the ending per say. The closing credits. Imagine my surprise when I realized that the bald potty-mouthed man was TOM CRUISE??!! Didn't see that one coming.
- The Prestige: One word: amazing.
- Fight Club: That sh*t blew my mind to pieces.
- Split: No reference or relationship to Unbreakable, and then, POW!
- Million Dollar Baby: You expect the movie to be a "rise from the ashes" success story, and then you get the ending...
- Upgrade: An unexpected ending that actually made sense, and didn't do surprise just for the heck of it.

Streamed it on KODI using the Exodus addon tethered to an o p e n l o a d HTTP extension. If you don't have KODI installed in your system, use this search engine ololo to search for a viable link. Alluc would have easily fixed your problem, but it's offline atm.

Another brilliant product of sci-fi genre. Fantastic story line with a shocking ending. Still peeved about the victory of the antagonist.
